This may have been answered before, but the physical media appears up for preorder on several foreign sites but how are people on the USA supposed to preorder it before it before it is all bought up by those in other countries; Or how is this working?

Each distributor probably gets an allotment.  A certain number of the physical editions are packaged specifically for North America as well.

Each retailer is allotted a certain amount with the majority being available in the U.S. (where most of it currently sits in a warehouse).

Correct!  And yes... I forgot to mention (thanks for reminding me) that the majority are also specifically manufactured for North America.

Hey Tommy,

I'm not the biggest fan of physical media, but the mystery is killing me. Can you give us an estimate of a revelation date for the physical media?

I love and appreciate that your excited about seeing it and finding out more!

We don't have a date for revealing the physical media just yet.  Lots of dates and things still up in the air.

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to post this reddit response here as it has information on certain things happening behind the scenes and I explain my thoughts on all of the recent attacks and lies.

It also describes some of the mistakes I have made in the past, apologies, and our goals moving forward.

Thanks.

I'm confused... was it "physical media" or "physical products"?

Thanks, that was entertaining and informative.

It shows that what I pointed out recently is a real issue for the group of "independent Amico critics": once the surreal accusations of extremism against you have become the main weapon of their discourse, it's really difficult for many of them to keep doing what they do, because they are real extremists themselves with a real history that goes beyond "he folllows someone on Twitter".

Tommy,

To be very honest, I'm not sure what I'm reading here, nor if it has any place in this discussion.  A few things to get out of the way, before I comment on this any further.

The behaviors you have described do not describe the interactions I have had with you.  I have never threatened your family, never made a comment about your ethnicity, and never wished you any physical harm.  Other people may have done that, if so that is between you and them.  My interest in you is specifically as the lead of the Amico Project, and it is only in the context of that project I am reading this now.

If you think this describes mistakes you've made in the past, it does not.  I don't see any mention of your failure to communicate unavoidable delays.  I don't see any mention of you not taking into account very valid feedback at the early stages of this project.  If you believe your mistakes begin and end with "I engaged in a Twitter slapfight", then you're validating your ciritcs who say your ego, not your business sense, is running the Amico project.

This also does not really contain an apology, in any sense I would think of one, because you're not acknoweldging the notable wrong turns the Amico has taken, nor the inconvenience it has caused your customers.  Again, if someone wants to accuse you of being tone-deaf to your customers, you've just given them a really good example.

I'm also not really seeing any goals.  But, as far as I'm concerned, the only goal you should have should be the obvious one: getting your console out.  Everything else is just window dressing.

My sincere advice, Tommy, is to stop making this personal.  I'm not interested in who your ancestors were, where you grew up, or what car you drive.  I don't talk about it becuase it's not important-- not to me, not to this project.  What is important is that the Amico is a year late, has been delayed three times, and your own crowdfunding pages indicate some very important tasks are not complete.  When you are asked about this, you go silent or complain about people calling you names.

People in business get called names.  That's not an excuse to not deliver your product.  If you want Amico to be taken seriously, take seriously the hard questions people are asking about its development... not just if the packaging is the right shade of cornflower blue.

Hope this helps.

At first I wasn't sure how that mess fits into the "fun" part of this thread, but then I read a bit and saw that someone calls themselves  "Poopypants."   If that don't make you giggle a little bit, then you're already dead inside.

I disagree, and its okay we disagree as we each have our own perspectives and wants.  I myself am interested in seeing truth, interested in the attempt to temper lies and maybe expose things that others may not be aware of. I think the US in particular needs more of this right now.  Honestly, I wish none of the smear and hate existed here or elsewhere in the world, but sadly that is not the world we live in.

We are all consumers of information and some of the information streams we receive may not be specifically tuned for ourselves or to our general liking, but in a forum like this one, others will have a difference of opinion and appreciate the information; myself included, especially since I’m not on social media (any guess as to why not?).

I agree with you in that I wish info coming forth was related to the release or other information on the system, but between there not being much recent news and wanting to keep some info held back until closer to launch, there just isn't likely much that can be shared ATM. Also, have you ever thought there might be a link to the recent lull of information to all the BS thats out there right now?  At the end of the day, Amico will release and it will be what it is and people will either get it or not, like it or not and IE will garner some level of success (I myself think it will be a high level), bur how sad is it that when you boil it all away, that people who are not interested feel the need to detract from those that are.

I ended up getting a TON of crap related to my initial and ongoing support for the new Atari VCS, and I heard a lot of the same garbage Tommy has related to the "just trying to protect others" argument for why they were doxxing and harassing me. It was interesting to me personally that the harassment stopped at the same time it ramped up for the Amico in general and Tommy in particular; I suspect some of the same people are behind it. These folks are not right in the head, plain and simple.

While I have personally gotten a refund for my Amico preorder, I do wish INTV the best, and really hope it all works out. We'll see what happens; it could be I will jump back on board if/when it releases. Either way, I won't spend a minute bashing the console between now and then. Better things to do with my life.

First off it was a reply to a post about the toxic drama which has nothing to do with the things you brought up.  As far as project delays these have been answered multiple times so allow me to list them once more for you

A global pandemic occurred which shut down California for almost a year and a half making it impossible to have staff in the building together which made it nearly impossible to finish hardware design.  We know Intellivision outgrew their original office and we’re set to move into a new one in November 2020 we also know that the first time all employees were in the office together was June 2021

Tommy mentioned a while ago that over 20 games were in final stages with optimization the only step left which is also the final step of any such project

The pandemic has slowed shipping to a crawl and tripled or quadrupled the cost of shipping as of a week ago there were 70 cargo ships waiting off the California coast to unload when in normal operation that number is only one or two.  These types of issues will have an impact.

Intellivision is pre revenue with no product in the market so they don’t have a ton of money in the bank and have to spend wisely they can’t afford to lose money on building or shipping costs.  They need to make money on their hardware in order to help maintain the business while it gets up and going unlike the other gaming consoles who can take a massive launch up front and make it up with game sells because fury are billion dollar businesses.

The apology you refer to fits perfectly again in the context of what he was replying to and are indeed some mistakes he has made.  As far as your assertion that delays were not communicated timely I’m not sure how you think this works but Tommy can’t just on his own announce that their are discussions with suppliers, distributors, retailers, and probably more people that I don’t know about that have to happen to make such decisions we the general public get this information last and yet we got the news about the delay a month or two before the release date which is plenty ahead of time for general public I would think.

Look like it or not a global pandemic is still ongoing which is going to effect things for a long time to come it's not like look businesses are open and it’s all fine again it’s going to take time to get some of these shortages fixed.  It will take time and it won’t be easy but given Tommy’s history with successful projects from starting his own video game audio company to the gaming audio network guild, two successful tv shows, a record holding concert series plus the amazing experienced people he has surrounded himself with I have complete faith that Tommy and Intellivision will make their dream a reality.

Before my closing thoughts allow me to put this post into perspective for you the Reddit post you read was not about the issues you raised but rather about the drama that has gone on making Tommy’s post on the Reddit appropriate to that topic of discussion.  I don’t blame you if you didn’t read the lead post that started the discussion however I will say that by not doing so it turns your reply into something similar to what you seem to complain about. Have you not noticed that lately Tommy has not been replying to posts as much?  You know why that is? It’s explained in the post.  As much as he wants ti tell us as much as he can and likes interacting with people everything he says is ripped apart not by you specifically but by people who have an irrational hate for a video game console designed to bring more people into console gaming which you would think would be a good thing.  Expanding a market you enjoy to a wider audience should one would think be a goal to embrace.  Instead certain groups call up anyone involved with Intellivision and try to get them to pull out even venues holding family friendly events think about that for a second. On top of that death threats to himself or family or employees trying to dox people for liking a console and trying to get partners to back out is all really extreme behavior which no matter who you are is very personal and I think if you looked at it from his point of view you wouldn’t have thrown that line about don’t take it personally.

On to my final thoughts I think too much is being made about percentage of completeness estimates on the funding page.  Look like has been stated multiple times on here by people involved with such areas have said software and operating system stuff is never “done” until time is up and some like operating system won’t ever be done until they are no longer supported would you rather they call things done and not improve them and just sit twiddling their thumbs while they wait for manufacturing and release so they could put a higher percentage of readiness on a website?  Or would you rather they use the time they have to improve the play experience of the games?  and functions available in the system when it gets released?  Since they have teams who work with different aspects of the system and games, the logistics of getting it manufactured I would think keeping everyone busy on something is the way to go thank you for your time have a wonderful day

I don't feel this adequately explains the delays, not when put in the context of what the team has actually shown.  Even considereing known constraints with parts and fabrication, there is no reason Amico should not have a full OS, games, and backend architecture.  I think it's notable that the component considered "done" is the one held up by the pandemic, and the ones "not done" are the ones that could be addressed by remote work and outsourcing.  The pandemic is not a sufficient explanation for the state of the project as it has been shown.

What other people have said about the project I'm not commenting on.  It falls into the realm of speculation.  It's my conention that the OS, games, and backend would be marked 100% if they were in a shippable state.  Why?  Because that's what would look best to investors.  If they had a shippable, stable version, the Amico team would have said so.  A revised version could be in the works, and that could be noted too.  That's not the case.  Fundable says it's not done.  The Amico team says it's not done.  So I'm saying it's not done.  We as consumers understand that software is constantly being revised and updated... that doesn't mean an initial stable release isn't needed to get the box out the door.

You're free to think too much is being made of this.  I respect your prerogative.

I guess you think the PM and CEO at Analogue must really suck since they announced the delay of the Pocket from October to December in mid-September, six weeks after Intellivision. I mean, a couple weeks from this July time they should know there was a delay vs eight weeks. And no gift at all from them or apology video from the CEO for their third delay. And communication? What communication from Analogue?

I guess you think the PM and CEO at Analogue must really suck since they announced the delay of the Pocket from October to December in mid-September, six weeks after Intellivision. I mean, a couple weeks from this July time they should know there was a delay vs eight weeks. And no gift at all from them or apology video from the CEO for their third delay. And communication? What communication from Analogue?

I don't believe I've mentioned Analogue.

I didn’t say you did. It is interesting you ignore the question, oh, demander of answers.
