Why can't you simply explain what things have to be finished in the backend?

Hey there.  You never answered most of my questions.

Do you condemn folks who bully and harass people because they like Amico?  Do you condemn those threads I posted yesterday?

What are your favorite Amico games that you've seen so far?  What are you most looking forward to?

What are your thoughts about our recent Crayola video?

Have you signed up to our mailing list yet?

Looking forward to getting your thoughts and finding out more.

Thanks in advance.

Been following Amico news for a few months now, picked up on it after getting into the Evercade system

Got the evercade handheld and pre ordered the Vs and as a result have now gfot a pre order in for the Graphite Black Amico

Always have and always will have xbox/ps but something simple and fun about the other systems so think theres room for all

Some of the games , evil kenievel , not my cup of tea but really looking forward to Breakout and AStrosmash. Think its something that even the wife will play

Just hope it makes it to the UK soon! Had to order direct from Intellivision as UK retailers only offering the white console

Thank-you for giving your honest thoughts and I appreciate the support!

It's kinda funny... so many people have said the same thing about Evel Knievel... so I totally understand where you're coming from.

Yet everyone who plays it completely changes their mind.  A lot of YouTubers have mentioned this in their videos.  It's just one of those games (like so many of the Amico games) where gameplay footage just doesn't do it justice as the experience is all about being in a room with other people and interacting with one another.

In our upcoming videos our goal will be to capture that experience.

Thank you again for your interest and thoughts.

Hi Tommy, Could you please show some new Amico game footage or pictures of some games, I don’t even mind at this point what it is, just so we can talk about something different and fun, other than how far complete things are! Thanks

I hear ya!  We're getting close.  Hang in there a few more weeks.

I have a fun question for everyone.

Prioritize the following games that you would like to see deep dive videos for over the next month or two.

Missile Command
Dynablaster

Intellivision Pool

Finnigan Fox

Evel Knievel

Space Strikers

NOTE:  This list does NOT represent all of the ones we're doing...  just some of them.

I'm just curious as to what the interest level is among the current community that has been following to this point.

Thanks!

What have you posted were not nice things but not bullying or harassing. I think you are overusing these words. But most importantly, I don't have influence about what other people say, you have influence on your words and that should matter the most for you.

I answered about the system in general. From games, I have very fond memories of Dynablaster, I just wish you have chosen nicer graphics there. The chosen color palette in your version reminds me of late 90s dark 3D games. Beside that, Cloudy mountain looks interesting! Never played it before, would like to try it, honestly! Is there any new video?

As stated before, I am really interested in the controller because I like experimental input devices. I am also very curious whether you can make NFT right and whether it can live up to hype.

Well, your team created the video and chose who will be there. So it is simply a nice ad - nothing more and nothing less.

Have you heard ANYONE who’s played it say its got a long way to go? Not me, most reactions I heard, with a few game exceptions, was that they would be happy if it were released as is. Do you think those folks were lying or just that their opinions are wrong?

Yes.  They literally think and declare that everyone who has played it is lying, is a shill, drinking Amico Kool-Aid, or is getting paid by Intellivison.

I guess that now includes you and your wife as you have played it and enjoyed it also.

Questions for you.

3.  Did your wife (who admits not really being a gamer) enjoy playing it with you?

4.  Did your wife beat you in any of the games (sorry... I had to go there to prove a point).  Hahaha!

I work in an industry that is affected by supply chain problems (along with half the world). We are not a start up, so in better position to handle the onslaught of the world the last couple of years. I evaluate workflow issues.

Most problems out there on their own can be very simplified, and if they each were the only factor, would be quite easy to overcome for most. The problem is when you have an unusual amount of problems at once to a process, the efficiency of most steps of the process plummets.

These times are very atypical, with unprecedented numbers of issues hitting many industries. If you break down each failure, you can get a myopic view that communicates mismanagement as the cause of failure. If you can take a 10,000 foot view of all problems, it begins to illustrate that the process has become overwhelmed and lack of efficiency can exponentially delay progress.

Once you evaluate your current position, things that are non-repeatable and already completed are now irrelevant to finishing the task. To dwell on those before the job is completed is premature.

Evaluating who estimated what completion percentage back on what certain date is not really important to the team trying to complete the project. Although it may be important to someone that is determining the credibility of the project, it is not overly productive to the team to engage in that before the job is completed, as they need to remain focused on completing the tasks in the most efficient manner from now forward (unless they have a time machine).

Everyone has different tolerance and patience, I personally respect that. If you don’t think Amico is going to come out, or your patience is exasperated, I personally think you should wait to commit after it comes out, and then evaluate. If you are excited or blessed with calming patience, it is your freedom to invest both monetarily and emotionally in the system.

If there is absolutely no way you will ever be interested, then get a new hobby, as trolling other people’s pursuit of happiness is just plain sad.

Brilliantly said on all accounts.

don’t think many have seen the shop stuff,

I actually showed it to over 30 people at RetroBro's house.  They saw the shop, the U.I. and have commented on how complete and operational it is.

Everyone so far was quite impressed.

I can't remember... did I show you the U.I. when you were at the office?  (not the backend developer portal where I was launching the games from).

Certain folks don't seem to understand the whole concept or idea of "polishing" or "bug testing".

I wonder if they would consider Cyberpunk to be 100% complete because it was released.  :)

I also showed online firmware updates, uploading and downloading of games.

Not only to the folks who were at RetroBro's house, but even a month or so before that to the Art of Mana channel back in June.

You know.. that channel and person who was threatened and harassed (including threatening his family) by the obsessed haters so much that he decided to stop talking about Amico and removed all of his positive Amico videos.

Just watch about 5 minutes of this video from where I cued it up.

Sad and pathetic that this particular group of people would stoop this low.

This guy is a super nice and kind dude and was on the fence about Amico before he played it.

The second he started talking positively about his experience, he was threatened and bullied.

Shame on them.

Despicable human beings.

Wow.  You either didn't actually read them... or maybe you're just not a very nice person yourself and find those insults and harassment to be acceptable.

I actually don't really care to interact with you anymore after this post because I find your answer to be quite horrifying.

No hard feelings.

How can you judge the graphics based on a "work in progress"?  (Which is clearly stated on our videos).  What we've shown over the past year is not what the final product will look like.  None of the 3D lighting effects were even in the game when we showed it last year.

It was a public event.  We didn't "chose" who would be there.

And this is exactly why you continue to be so misinformed.

I gave you a shot... tried to keep it respectful (and you did as well).  But you've been so poisoned by the misinformation that you read, watch and follow that you fail to see how you're being manipulated.

Better to part ways at this point.

Anyway, no hard feelings.

Looking forward to you playing Amico someday.  You mentioned you liked unique controllers so I know you're really going to love ours.

Horrifying? You are using very strong words just because I am not agreeing with your use of the word "harassing"? Have I been impolite to you here? Have I harassed you here in any way or scope?

You asked me about my opinion and I gave it to you. I said that I am fond of Dynablaster and I simply don't like the graphics you have chosen. That is all. I don't think you really want to hear any feedback, do you? So why do you ask people at all? : /

I never stated that it wasn't a public event. I said that you created the video and you chose who would be in the video. Your team literally (or maybe rather visually ;) ) prepared the video - it is an ad. Nothing more and nothing less. I am simply quite indifferent about it.

Please feel free to do the entire list in order.

Really curious as to your ranking on all of them.

Pool is one of the games around the office that folks are absolutely addicted to because of the way you interact with the touch screen and disc (and all the different ways to play it).  The tournament and arcade modes are super addicting!  And all of the unlockables are really cool and funny.

Can't wait to do a deep dive on that one and show it off to everyone.

Frankly, I am starting to think that you are using this labelling just to evade direct questions like "what 80 % of backend means" etc. 😕 And an irony is that I actually already accepted that I would not hear any answer from you and I was getting more positive about this thread because of some other members of this community. And then you strike again...

1) Space Strikers - being honest here, its because its the only game I didn’t see

2) Dynablaster

3) Pool - think this one would be good to get people to see more about possibilities for how innovative the controllers are
4) Finnigan Fox
5) Evel Knievel

6) Missile Command - mostly 6 because there was already a previous video on this one

1.  0 perceptual lag, supper responsive controllers (touchscreen, disc and buttons)

2.  Thought they were well integrated into Evel Knievel and like that they weren’t over used or felt forced into the games as a gimmick.  Implemented where it made sense and not where they didn’t

3.  Think she generally liked the more casual games like charades, Evel Knievel (multiplayer) but also Moon Patrol and Dynablasters; and especially Astrosmash. She had lots of fun and said she was excited to get it and play it at home. I’ll be trying to convert her for Biplanes for sure.   The stall mechanics and sound were so good and I swear it seemed like I could smell burning oil while playing that game.

4.  She handedly beat me in Evel Knievel and I’d say she got me in Dynablasters.  I do think I bettered her with Moon Patrol though, strangely enough.  Should I be worried that the only game I remember comparing actual scores though was in Evel Knievel? 😥

We saw both the developer interface and what I assumed to be a later UI.  Looking forward to being able to explore things more there when we get one, but I liked the simplicity of it; and by that I don't mean it was simplistic, but more intuitive (which is what UI’s are supposed to be but they often fall short) and well thought out.  Some really good implementation there!

Totally agree with your thoughts on treatment of people posting positive feedback

Top 3 Amico “problems” I’ve heard repeatedly

1) Graphics - Maybe this comes from folks not satisfied with their current life and need photo realism to help them get fully absorbed into an alternate reality  - anyone else wish they’d just stay there…

2) Simplicity - Ego issues?  Can’t have grandma beating them in a video game

3) Local Multiplayer - Requires friends IRL - just sayin

I think it is more about the taste. I find, e.g., Cloudy mountain looking really good (from that short snippet), Dynablaster rather meh ATM (maybe it will be improved), while I don't have any clear opinion on, e.g., Finnigan Fox (looks like a nice average platformer).

7 minutes ago, Starpaddler said:

I think that simplicity by itself is no issue. For me the question is the longevity, i.e. is there enough to do? I play now Mario Run: simple, yet challenging and a lot of things to do for the price. We will see whether Amico will be able to deliver this. Hopefully yes!

Another question will be financial. 10 $ for a simple game may be a lot in the time when we can get so many great games for less (and simple ones with multiplayer and no microtransactions). Now add that one needs additionally to buy a console for these simple games. It may be still worth it. People may not know about alternatives and it can be a nice, easy package. But I think this is one of the sources of criticism based on the simplicity of games: not that games are simple but that one needs to buy the console to play these simple games.

Tommy, have you considered adding Xbox Adaptive Controller support to work in tandem with the Amico controller?

Other consoles, such as the Evercade VS have announced Adaptive Controller support. It can connect by blue tooth or USB and it allows people to use foot switches for button presses.

For people like me with a physical disability that effects my hand, this could make playing the Amico much easier. Just a thought.

BTW: My personal wish would be that posts like this will dominate this thread once again. This is what I am looking for when coming to this place...

I actually believe these % on Fundable, i.e. that pack in games are almost ready. My main worry is about the backend and its 80 % of completness. As a player there, you had probably not interacted with that during the demonstration.

Edit: but I agree that seeing new stuff would be more interesting than continue in this discussion now :). Sorry for bringing it back!

By schedule, the backend and most launch games don't need to be ready by about two and a half months after the pack-in games; due to manufacturing, shipping, distribution.  Why worry.  A related question that can be asked is if leaderboards is expected to be implemented at system release.

Tommy, I felt this was quite legit and a positive criticism @Lusorius came up with what I find is actually very rare these days.

He was just hinting at something he thought could really improve and help the game.

I think it just got lost in an ongoing debate tending to negativity so it could easily be understood the wrong way.

Exactly right. It also seems that the games are not ready. I just cancelled one of my 2 FE and will cancel the other one if it’s not released by Christmas. I’m just losing interest at this point unfortunately and there was no bigger fan than me checking Atariage multiple times a day for almost 2 years. Someone can have my FE. Almost no one in this thread wants to hear anything critical. Logic is out the window it seems.

Sadly, I'm feeling the same way now. It just takes too long for the machine to finally arrive (some even doubt it ever will).

People getting anxious and are partly upset which I find absolutely understandable. News is scarce and there's too much seemingly endless and weary discussion that gets us nowhere.

I appreciate your replies but why to speculate all the time when we could get direct answers from the source? However, I gave up on getting them already and I think it is time to let this discussion be slightly more cheerful again :).

Sure we do, but there is absolutley no signs that this is an elaborate investment scam or that IE is purposely holding it back from getting launched. Of course we are all really sad it’s getting delayed and it might be until 2022 before we finally would get it, but why are you mad at them for the delays?
