I preordered an amici a long time ago and got some email about a preorder gift on august 16th. I tried to follow the links for it but it seems to go nowhere related to any gift.  How does one obtain this “gift”? They sure don’t make it easy to find out

I'm sure the link is dead as it was August.  It worked when I did it back then. Super easy as well. I assume if you fill out the form on this page and give your order number, they will help you out:

Yo Everyone,

We're going to be updating our FAQ on our website very soon.

What questions would you like to see answered?

Here are just a few examples of some of the questions we'll be adding.

-       Physical Games description and explanation

-       Online Leaderboards – how they work and what is possible

-       How Many Games will be available

-       Information about controllers being used away from home/sharing

-       LED Lights, how they work and how they can be adjusted

-       Can you turn the LED lights off completely

-       what kind of accessibility options are available for those who are disabled

-       How using the phone as a controller works with app/console

-       How snap on buttons work for phones

-       can stick on buttons work with Amico controllers as well as phones

-       How charging controllers work using console/using USB cable

-       Motion control explanation. How it works.

-       Controller Rumble/Force Feedback

-       How touch screen works for user input

-       How the screen works for displaying images/animations

-       How many controllers/phones can be used together at a time. What is the mix?

-       How the disc controls the games and registers input. How that varies per game.

-       can you gift games to other people through the system

-       is there online coop or vs on the system

Please respond and leave any question you may think might be relevant.

For reference (and so you don't leave a question that may already be answered), our current FAQ is here:  https://intellivision.com/faq

Thanks!

As an old Intelly Nerd, the most obvious question for me is:

Will Classic versions be included of EACH game?

Sure it may be an old known fact around forums like this...but i can assure you a lot of old timer Intelly nerds from back in the day dont/wont visit a forum to scroll through pages and pages of content to hopefully find the answer.

Having this question answered in a FAQ seems to make a ton of sense to me.

The actual number may eventually be small, but i bet there will be old gamers who's mom sold their entire collection in a garage sale (ahem) and would LOVE an easy and modern way to reclaim the nostalgia...who also have little interest in modern games or modern versions of old intelly games.

Sure, i'll probably get lost in a few weekends of modern Cloudy Mountain and Astrosmash, but i do see myself playing a LOT of the classic versions on Amico with my grandkids! (someone, get me my walker..will ya?)

My sister and her partner bought a Switch about a year ago. Since then, they have been enjoying the accesibility of simple multiplayer games and they play together everyday...

Not. Actually, only her partner plays the Switch, spending hours in Animal Crossing alone.

Just some experience from some small family of two 35-40 year olds who don't visit Internet forums to talk about unreleased products they hate.

This question is in the current FAQ on their web site now, although when the games become available might be updated.

Update on Amico physical box protectors. PS Vita game box protectors. Extra space is within 1mm on each side. $11 for 10 or $19 for 20 from retroprotection on eBay or maybe a bit less from retroprotection.com directly.

@Tommy Tallarico

The makers of Skyrogue have a game that reminded me of a decent Joust reimagining with simple fractal graphics that still look somehow pretty. Thought I'd share to get creative juices flowin'. It's interesting at least.

You will probably still get calls on these, but I hope this reduces the number:

Power requirements (For spare AC adapters)

How to pair new/existing controllers. - Simple.. But it will save you calls..

How do I clean my system/controllers?

How to re-pair controllers when they loose connection to the console.

Is there a "Reset Controller" button combo?

Can you Factory Reset the  Amico?

Can/how do you backup your Amico?

Can I copy my SD card? - How?

How do you upgrade your storage and keep all your games/saves?

Are game saves, local or online?

Recommended SD Card - Size/model and differences in load times.  If any.

Can I pop my SD in another system and play those games on the 2nd system?

Will an external hard drive be supported?

Can I change the Birthday on the Amico? (to change who gets the free game on their Bday)

Will there be a list of what Holidays we celebrate (Christmas/Easter/Festivus/Talk Like a Pirate Day) for the events

While I was in Salt Lake City earlier this month I got a chance to hang out and catch up with my buddy Mark Baer.  Mark is the son of the legendary Ralph Baer.  Considered by many to be the father of the video game system and home video game console. Mark had a chance to play Amico and we discuss his thoughts and how his father influenced a lot of the philosophies behind what we do and how/why we created Amico the way we did.

Very nice.  I just watched the NetFlix video game history series.  I had know idea of the real early history.  Thought I did... But Nolan gets pounded into your brain.

Nolan deserves big props as well because (in my opinion) he was the one who "commercialized" the video game industry in a way it was previously never done.  His business acumen really took it to the next level.

I'm a big fan of both Ralph & Nolan.

Hi,

Please check your SPAM folder from something from Humble Bundle.

If you don't see it there, please e-mail:  [email protected] and they'll take care of you immediately with a new link.

Thank you for your patience and support.

A few things:

In the existing FAQ in the "About the console" section under the question about more controllers -- it mentions downloading mobile app -- there should be a hyperlink to that right there so people don't have to go looking. Also eventually a direct link to controller shop when they are available.

Other stuff:

- Where to find the games for sale outside of online

- Seems to need something about being able to buy the games, i.e if you are doing it digitally, ensuring your kid doesn't buy a bunch of stuff with your credit card. I know this has been covered here on AA but I know some parents are going to ask anyways -- i.e how is content controlled beyond the mention of no loot boxes or DLC

- Overview of how the physical games interact with the console -- if its perceived as easy and no fuss via the FAQ the better.

I am sure I will think of more later.

Our controller mobile app won't be available until launch.  We don't want to get it mixed up with the Amico Club app (which is a different product).  Although I have heard talks that we might combine them into one.  But nothing decided yet.  Probably best to wait to put up a link as we wouldn't want people thinking they could download our controller app at this point.  We should definitely make the distinction though.  Thanks for pointing it out.

I'm tempted to make a REAL REAL REAL Fun Amico Conversation Thread and have the first post be:

MADE YA LOOK!

With a link people can click that brings them here.

the Earthworm Jim anthology is epic too! 'What the hack' is one of the best tracks ever.  Elevator music in hell....lol.  The whole game is epic, can't wait for Amico Jim.  I have a music player on the dashboard or my bartop arcade and some of these puppies went right on the playlist.

And all the magazine articles are cool.

Good point on the Amico club app -- I forgot about that.
