I feel like kiosks are falling by the wayside. I'm trying to recall the last kiosk I saw. Maybe a Wii? I certainly don't recall any PS4 or XB1 kiosks around me. Demos running on a loop on a tv, for sure when the consoles were new. But not playable kiosks. And I live in a suburb of a fairly large metropolitan area. So it's not like I live in Hooterville.

My local Target had a Switch Kiosk.

Same as this one.

Has there been a video posted yet of someone controlling a game with an Amico controller?  Would be highly appreciated if someone knows of a video I can check out. Thanks

There's the dice rolling demo.

That's not using the controller. It's using a cel phone.

Correct, I was specifically looking for something that demonstrates the Disc Pad and Side buttons of the controller via an actual game.  I'm sure we'll see a demo soon enough.

Ooooh! That's a good point! So looking forward to AD&D Cloudy 2 (that's what I'm calling it) I also will refuse to call Baby Yoda anything but that name, no matter what happens in season 2. I have spoken. I am not sure why I ended up heading off on a Star Wars tangent. 😂

Because this thread is what Yoda meant when he said, "No there is another."

🤣

I think he meant with the actual controllers and not the phone and app. The concept is cool and will work great with Yahtzee.

For a Oct release I would think manufacturing would need to start in the Spring/Summer so design of the controller should be finalized rather soonish.  I know they made some tweaks recently.  Seeing the controller in action is one of the things I want to see most for sure.  It might change some of my original concerns.

They've said manufacturing will start first week of April.  Isn't the Amico Night Stalker demo played with Amico controllers.  Otherwise it would be pretty impressive for the phone apps.  It plays like a twin stick shooter.

The goal is to get the Amico in Wal Mart and Best Buy stores correct, because if true thats pretty huge.  I initially thought it would be limited to online orders.

Also, if these are showing up in stores what are the chances of Amico Kiosks?

They've mentioned store demos and mall tours.

When I was a kid I don't remember seeing kiosks.  They just had an intellivision sitting on a counter that you can try, sometimes with the demo cart running.  I guess that would be up to the store.

Cool, I hope they have something close to me (South Suburbs of Chicago).

Also, it could very well be the case they used an Amico controller for that Night Stalker demo, but I'm looking forward to seeing someone actually use it on video, just to get an idea how it looks in action as someone is playing.

Something like this.

I imagine it was quickly renamed after someone realized the acronym SNAFU is not really perhaps something you want labeled on your product? :D

Expect stuff like that in the summer.  That's when their real marketing starts.  Still too early.

They do have a series of videos focusing on the controller, so there'll probably be more of that.

It never bothered Mattel.

Oops, my bad.  I didn't look too closely when I originally watched the video.  I tried 😁

We are in the middle of updating our firmware with the newest controller screens so we were in fact playing with the phones when we recorded that video!

Lots of secrets still to reveal.   :)

More likely it will be Paul standing right there blocking your view while Cmart and his gang of miscreants steals the kiosk. 😉

It might NOT be a good idea to bring anything  kiosk-like to PRGE...

Yes but because Paul will be in the Amico mascot costume you will

think he's on the way to a mall or store when In fact he's heading to UPS to get it shipped to Canada. Also I'll throw in some Digiplay LV Poker and Blackjacks which are genuinely rare strangely enough. 😂

I used to be uncomfortable having you stalking on ususpecting AtariAge members, but now I get it.

You real last name is Jarvis, and you used to be a good buy until your confrontation with Jason Berel. You were traumatized and turned into a psycho killer forum poster yourself.

Or maybe it's time for me to stop that Friday the 13th marathon, I'm not sure. 😅

They had them, but were rare to see.  You remember the conversation we had about the year I saw one, had to be mid-1981.  I remember seeing both the Atari and Intellivision kiosks side-by-side in the TSS store in Lindenhurst, Long Island.  You could play football, blackjack and poker, space battle and auto racing. That pretty much sold my Dad on the Intellivision.

Yeah I know they existed.  But if I were a store I wouldn't have invested extra money in one.  Maybe they were more common in the US than Canada.  Americans seemed to have more money for that stuff.

For Amico, will Intellivision Entertainment subsidise store demo units.  Will they make the entire game library free for store demo units.  Or will we have to wait for a mall tour.

Small town in Central Kentucky in 1980. I'm single, living at home and had just started working for the Railroad.  Plimpton and the kiosk at the local K-Mart pretty much sold me.  My older brother months earlier had purchased a 2600 and I have to say it left me wanting, especially the sports games.
