Article Summarizing the last two days (Tank Battle Weirdness)

I thought this was a concise look at the video kerfluffle surrounding Tank Battle. Like him or hate him, TonyTGD  wrote a no-filler piece here:

I can't speak for everyone, but I've been pretty clear that it doesn't bother me that Intellivision swiped those assets (I just want 'em to deliver a good game, and it's up to them to take care of all the legal stuff on the backend).  And that I've never once really cared "where" graphics come from when I'm playing a game.  And it all the backend legal/ethical parts of whatever Rev is releasing doesn't bother me either.  That's not hypocrisy, my friend, that's consistency.

All joking aside, I did recently see (elsewhere on the forum) where a user tried to pull the same dick move that you're doing with Rev, and took it upon themselves to call out another user for their releases and the licensing or lack thereof related to them, and a mod or admin (or someone with authority around here, it seemed) shut it down fast by letting them know it's not up to us to police it and personally call anyone out.  No authority here, of course, but I definitely agreed with that mentality.

I didn’t say you said that. Although I think it was implied. Strongly implied. Well, a lot of people here seem to be doing a lot of policing aren’t they. I never called anyone out. I just asked him a question. Are we not allowed to ask questions anymore? Dick moves seem to be what these threads are all about anyway ( like mocking someone’s post), so, if mine gets deleted, there should be a whole lot of detractors posts deleted. Especially when we’re allowing opinions to be posted from people banned from the entire forum.  Over and out.

Ya know, I actually like that name.   Not even in a "sideways insult" kind of way.  But genuinely like it.  It's catchy.  Makes me smile.  And implies fun.

Yeah light hearted names could really make it easier for the family experience. Battle and Attack may be more violent sounding than what some families want.

Wannabe gossip columnists can write articles or make videos. You must remember he has said a number of times he is not always in wannabe journalist mode and sometimes just having fun, so, you never can tell ( also sounds like a conflict of interest).

as much as I am really trying to stay positive about the Amico, it is really hard to ignore all these dumb mistakes they keep seem to be making.

They might be better off sticking Tommy in time out for a while.

Well I think there have been a few people who thinks that they've needed to back off from streams and hater talk stuff for awhile. Intellivision seems to be about the only delayed company who hasn't given a good update on manufacturing and shipping.

I have orders, and I am fine with them being honest that they aren’t sure when they can ship. Do you have an order?

Not anymore, got my money back. You can be fine with it. Some like putting up with those things more than others. I'm glad I didn't have a Playdate on order even if they have been more open about what is going on.

So if you are glad you don’t have Playdate order, seems like “good” updates are both subjective and not very important. People care more if they can get the product or not instead of the excuses.

Cuz I never support homebrewers and am always after them about licensing. Oh, wait, that’s not me that’s Nintendo. 

Unless someone has a founders edition on pre-order, I think it would be unwise and unnecessary to pre-order the Amico at this point.

I cancelled all of my pre-orders (Amico, Playdate, Steam Deck). Honestly I'm not sure if I am going to get any of them now. I've put a lot more time/money into my other hobby. 

But, if the Amico turns out good and looks to have some staying power I'll consider it. I am interested in it, but it doesn't seem worth it yet.
