More not good news on the chip shortage. Toms Hardware doesn't see the chip shortage improving, just prices going up (the article is mostly about the Playstation 5, but applicable to the whole market including iPhones, also mentioned).

Kenny Everett was hilarious! I ran the grooves out of this album. I thought I was the only one who remembered him.

Yes his space ship is a flying cassette player.

And the 12 year old me still chuckles at the one liners I can hear (along with the other voices) in my head.

Not sure how you could make a family friendly Amico game out of this.  But it would be fun trying!!!!! Not to mention the art style would go well with the Amico.

A little past time for the benifit for my kid, but it would be really cool to see a digital version of Rokenbok toys, kinda like the following on Amico.

Maybe IE could even team with Rokenbok on special editions where the toys could be controlled with Amico via BT, kinda like Nintend did with Mario Cart Live.

IE just needs a guy who could engineer a famous (and iconic) Rokenbok sound.  Oof!

20 weeks?! I would have thought things would be getting better as time goes on. I can't imagine having a dead fridge and not being able to get any replacement. We gave up on replacing our oven for now because it took us forever to get the cooktop. Our current oven still works okay so it will just have to do for now. 

This is like last year where there was a run on chromebooks and I had to ask people I knew in different places and states to find me one and ship it to me. My parents had to get it from Microcenter for me because there was nothing around us at all and no store could tell us when to expect one. 

Pac-Man clone that would be fun to have on Amico.

Looks like that shift from Spring/Summer to Fall might come in handy for Intellivision! It's always good to have a conservative estimate.

Please say that the call was about some future special editions. I think the Nightstalker one was my fav. It's now dawning on me that we need a thread that functions as a repository for @CurlyQ console designs. 

I don't post all that often, but I have to say that the people in this thread are AWESOME!  In just the past few pages, I'm bombarded with images from Airplane! and Kentucky Fried Movie. TRON is a heavy favorite, and we all have a fondness for Intellivision. Where else can I find a group of people who seem to share my interests as much as here?  Y'all rock!

I hear people are getting to play the Amico today.  I'm jelly.  Can't wait to see the reaction videos.

here is something !

Well I just got back from the Amico event and I will type up a longer post with some pictures but here are the highlights:

1) The controller feels great in the hand, the buttons have a really nice click, the screen is smooth and responsive & overall it feels solid - no creaks or bends

2) There is no appreciable lag in the games I played (Missile Command, Skiing, Colossal Crash & BiPlanes)

3) The music is awesome, I especially liked in Astrosmash and the way the music hits a crescendo when the volcano erupts - pretty epic

4) I saw Tommy walk over, press the reset button on the Amico and watched it boot

5) Sticking with my prediction that Skiing is going to be way more popular than most people think

6) In the 1980s I sucked at Biplanes, in 2021 I still suck at Biplanes

7) The numerous game modes make these games have way more play value than you might initially think. For example you can play Biplanes pretty much like the original game, however there is a team mode and you can pit two groups of players against each other (it can even be 3 against 1 if you want) catching all sorts of falling power ups, including bombs, and then use the bombs to hit the opposing team's strike zone for points

Overall I had a great time, got to see the Amico running, met several great people including YouTubers like Cyrus Martin and Brett Weiss, had a chance to play the games, watched others play even more of the games (I think 11 were loaded on the machine) and I can't wait until I have one in my living room

Yep no lag in sight. I am sure with a wireless controller there is a tiny amount but it isn't perceptible to the player, which is what matters. Biplanes is really fun. I played the traditional game with 4 players and it still has the 3 challenges that the original had - you have to maneuver to avoid shots, while leading your shots to hit your opponents AND maintain airspeed at the same time (I stalled several times & face planted on the terrain - a few times I hit the dreaded tower). I sucked like a Dyson but Cyrus Martin was an ace - whipping us all handily by winning 3 out of 4 rounds.

It was never an issue. It was just an early un-optimized version. Part of the process.
