Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

This game looks really neat.  It would be fun to have on Amico.  Sadly it's not available anymore.

LOVED the designs and tan colors of the Intellivoice games, instant classics imo! Imagic and their unique silver boxes also really stood out from the competition. Whoever came up with that idea deserved kudos, a pat on the back and a monetary pay hike. However, to each his or her own. Variety is the spice of life.

If you were around in 1982, you could have saved the Intellivioce project.

Who knows, Intellivision may have survived the CRASH.  Though I did love the gems INTV release in the later 80's  Wouldn't want to loose those.

Back to T's  The Hover Force and Super Pro Football shirts caught my eye back in 86-ish.  But spent my money on carts not shirts!

I think 32-bit pixel art would look very good on Amico, without compromising the team's "vision" too much. Think Sonic Mania, or Iconoclasts...or actual retro games that came out around the PS1 and Saturn's time. Y'know?

Eventually we'll be doing them.  Just need to establish the console as something new.  One of the disadvantages of bringing back a 40 year old name in this day and age is that people could get the wrong impression that this is some kind of flashback unit.  Makes sense considering there are so many out there at this point.  That is what our research & focus testing told us for people who knew the name.  Need to give it a year or two to establish itself as a brand new experience.

Thank you for the compliment.  Yeah, that was the vibe I was getting as well.  The Amazon thing in Europe is definitely getting sorted out.  As soon as I get info I'll post it here.

Give me your list in order of those 3... of which ones you would like to see first.

Mine is Microsurgeon, Beauty and the Beast and then Demon Attack.

Mostly because Microsurgeon is such a unique experience and game compared to others we have in our line-up.  But it will be a little more 2.5D shooter than the original.

We are thinking of cool ways to make Beauty and the Beast have more depth.  Things like different style buildings, more enemies and things to get in the way, reverse Elevator Action vibes but with window cleaning platforms instead of elevators, etc.

Demon Attack will be Phoenix, Galaga/Galaxian, Gorf, etc. on steroids.

What are your thoughts?

This sounds really good.  Demon Attack should be the ultimate fixed shooter out there.  I'm really curious about Beauty and the Beast and would it at all have a Donkey Kong vibe.  Sounds like it's going a different direction.

I'll say this as well.  This is how you will separate Amico from the other "couch" consoles.  Titles like this and Bomb Squad will show Amico is not just a retro console, or a quick hit game system.  It's a total system backed by a team that really knows how to challenge you.  Having a game library with games that are this complex and fun will certainly give Amico a serious side it needs to have.

Maybe add a little Moon Cresta or Astro Blaster to Demon Attack as well... where you can dock your ship to another section for more fire-power.   Many of the vertical style space shooters of the 90's similar to  Raiden and the like used floating power-ups.  But you have that already with Astrosmash.  Something different would be good here.

Was never a fan of Beauty and the Beast, reminded me of a Donkey Kong/Crazy Climber mash-up.  Definitely curious to see what you're going to do with this title.

I loved Demon Attack on the Intellivision because of the great graphics and boss level.  Make sure the boss level and co-op play are in the new version and it will be a hit!

All Imagic titles are little gems, so any reimagined Imagic titles in whichever order is fine with me!
