Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

Apparently, Sears is still around! They're shedding dozens of stores per year, but still around!

If that chain still exists after Amico launches, how about a special edition for them? Sears got rid of their video game section a few years ago, but they must be desperate enough by now.

The last one by me is in the process of going out of business.  It is a bit sad.  It was in that store that I met my wife of 28 years.  We worked in the automotive dept., she was a service writer and I was a salesman.  I jokingly told her we should go and renew our vows in the tire section before they close the doors!  She was not amused!

Wow.  Nice job!  I think this is actually nicer than the woodgrain version of the Amico... then again, the same could be said for the Sears version of the Intellivision as well.

I hope this gets a real look by Tommy and IE.   It would be a great 70's look variation.  I'd even buy it if it was a customization kit, whereas I paid 20 or 30 for the top shell and controller covers and did it myself.

Thanks for posting.

Glad you liked it!

I was originally going to make the side buttons beige, like the rest of the controller, but authenticity demanded otherwise:

No man, you nailed it.  Just pull the woodgrain design from the original as believe it or not, it was actually specific to both the SVA and the Sears Atari 2600 variant as well.

I love it... but then again...I'm completely biased.  Lol.

This looks like a fun game to have on Amico.

Blue Print would be good as well...

Radio Shack is still around as well....  Get where I am going.  I never had a Tandyvision.

Oh, the Tutorvision is pretty sharp also.

RoadBlasters - Wikipedia

Hopefully we get a vehicle combat game on Amico involving cars like Road Blasters.  I know we're getting Battle Tanks.  It would be nice to have different options from this category on the Amico.

This is gorgeous. I seriously would purchase this model, along with the Founder's Edition I ordered, if it was available.

Nice job 👍

Hi Tommy,

I have some questions about Hot Wheels Colossal Crash:

Is there a single player mode with Bot-Cars? If so, can you also use Bot-Cars in multiplayer to intensify the scenery?

How many different tracks and cars can we expect? Are there other traps than the three in the demo?

Right, it's similar to Road Blasters.  I'll take either one if it comes to Amico.

Road Blasters is a cool game.  Not commonly known, but if you ever play it, it's a lot of fun.

The trick to Spy Hunter is the steering.  It's extremely difficult to play on MAME because the steering is so sensitive.  But if that can be coded to the disc, and have it used as either a wheel or left-right steering, it would be a blast on Amico.

I hope there will be a line of reimagined Arcade hits, not just an Atari "Arcade Hits" pack.  Too many emulators out there now where you can play the original...all free.   Time for some new vision using the past as the inspiration.

Imagine Spy Hunter top-down with 2D style graphics like Moon Patrol!  That would be off the charts.... especially in the Boat and Helicopter sections.

And of course...Tommy's version of Peter Gunn playing the whole time.  Sick...

They have the rights to remake several arcade games from Irem and Dataeast.  Moon Patrol and Burgertime remakes are expected around launch.  The most popular arcade titles will be a little tougher to license for remakes.

It's a shame there isn't more flexibility in game title remakes.  Like a movie being remade.  It's not the same exact movie, it's a new version of an old story.

It's not the original Moon Patrol...it's a new interpretation of it.  So it could win or fail on its own.  But I guess it's all in the name isn't it.
