Yes.  They will stay on your hard drive forever.  Internet access is in no way required to play Amico.  Although the experience is a lot better if you are (because of Easter Eggs and the ability to keep downloading new games, etc.)

Cool if we can backup to SD Card.  Nice!

SD card.

Okay. So, to be clear, every game I buy from the online store can be backed up to an sd card and played on another system, even after online support has ended years from now, should my current one fail? As one who who believes in archiving games against future instrument failures and eventual online service shutdowns, I would love this. But, is this really possible to save downloaded games to an sd card and use them on a second machine in 15 years without piracy being a simple process? It may be something proprietary, but I was wondering if the sd card saving a downloaded game may be more of a short term 5-10 year solution. I’m sure the 20-25% of physical games would work for this, but this refers to online only games.

That dice demo is the kind of thing that could make this system a ton of fun, and shows the unique potential of these controllers.

I wish it was demonstrated on the controller rather than a smartphone.

Think of it like when you purchase games on your phone.  They stay with you even if you change your phone... but you can't transfer them to your friends.

More info coming later in the year.  Not too comfortable talking about it and getting into specifics at this time as we haven't finalized it 100% just yet.

I just had an interesting thought. What if I did buy three or four consoles, and had one in every room of my house. If I pay for one game, will that game be available on all four of my consoles or do I have to buy the game 4 times? My guess is that if I register all consoles to my account then buying a game on the account should make it available, but I wasn't sure how this might work.

Still working on this.

But you could easily take one controller with the games and bring it to another console to share for the time that controller is connected to the new machine.

Sounds to me like they would be tied to a particular account.

In the far off future, when activation servers are eventually taken down (or a gamma wave renders all WiFi inoperable ), would you be opposed to adjusting that?

Like, for instance, I recall reading somewhere that in the event of Steam ever shutting down, Valve specifically promised to provide fully offline copies to customers. I doubt this would be an issue any time soon...and neither would it be with you guys...but it's nice to have that reassurance.

You would already have them on your machine or hard drive or SD so it shouldn't be a problem.

Hmm, yes. Steam's offline download thing was probably a bad example for what I mean.

You guys are talking about the DRM. If there are any plans to remove the copy protection in a scenario where Intellivision is no longer supporting the Amico platform.

😂 I think you'd probably be a little more worried that your lungs, liver and heart are melting from the gamma rays than being able to play ancient Amico games with skinless hands.

In the Night Stalker Demo, I wonder why in level 2 bullets are bouncing on the walls.

Different walls ? Different bullets ? Is there a purpose ?

I saw that too and liked it.  Seems the game really tosses in a lot of variation.

Noticed that too and was wondering about that.

I think the developer making Night Stalker is also doing Cloudy Mountain Crown of Kings.  With the blobs and bouncing projectiles they've obviously mixed up the two games.
