Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

This is why I picked 5 hours, 40 minutes on the Amico 'How quick will the FE sell out?'.

An initial rush from AA members and the Youtubers interested in the console making sure we all nab one (or a few!), and once the Youtubers start blasting out 'FE is now open! Only 2600 available!' I imagine it will start snowballing from there.

Limited quantities and some nice perks will drive interest. Plus as Tommy has said many times it is 100% refundable, so even the fence-sitters might reserve a FE just to keep their hand in the game if they like what the see between now and October.

I hope I reserved two different orders but one pending charge on my card from PayPal

Man that sucks on the gaming chair. Also I should be clear I *WISH* every product had a replaceable battery, I just worry about the trade offs, especially for a small company. Maybe in controller 2.0 or like Tommy said a 3rd party controller - it is a valuable feature if you can pull it off right.

Yeah, it's things like the gaming chair that have me thinking about things like this. But it sounds like you'll be able to pull the battery out of the Amico controller if necessary and just use the controller plugged into the console, so that's cool.

I forgot if I asked this earlier, but will there be a way to buy additional limited edition controllers later? Say you buy the founders or a limited edition wood grain or purple or other color console, then in a couple/few years buy a new controller - will they only be available in white/black by then? I'm guessing you won't be making matching limited edition controllers indefinitely? That might mean later if you have a limited edition console you could only buy retail replacement controllers in white or black. Just curious how that will work?

That wood grain is a thing of beauty though.

Tommy confirmed that there will be limited edition ones for purchase later. There will be a premium for them over the standard variant.

I got my order for the Founders Edition in, or rather my wife put it in for me.  I didn't get the email until exactly one hour after she got hers, and the conspiracy theory I have is that she got it early because she bought a T-shirt off the website.  Or maybe I signed up to the mailing list too early.  Who knows, but at least I got mine reserved and I can't wait.  My plan is to get the wood-grain one and a white one.  That will match up nicely with my original Intellivision and the Intellivision II.

My question is, what is the golden ticket for?  I know it's for unlocking games, but isn't there something else special about it?  I seem to remember hearing something about a contest Willy Wonka style that the tickets would be used for.  Does anyone know?

I really just wanted the Pin

Funny. . .I've got my order in, too. . .and this was actually a big perk for me, too. . .one of my side gigs is playing the alphorn (think: Ricola!!!!) through the local German society. And we cover our traditional German hats with pins, and try to one-up one another with unique pins!

I paid my $100 then got an email which says:

Want to complete your PayPal payment at Intellivision Entertainment, LLC.?

To finish up, go back to Intellivision Entertainment, LLC. and give your final approval.

I assume it's saying I failed to press something at the end, but going to the intellivision site as it instructs does not give me an option to complete this...

Where is the countdown or up counter for Amico’s sold/left?

According to Tommy's Tweet, there are only about 100 remaining.  So they're selling better than I was expecting.

Wow, I said yesterday to my girlfriend it would probably be sold old in a few hours, and sure enough! Sadly I'm not able to back the founders edition. But I'll be following this system closely for sure and this is the system I'm rooting for. I expect I'll be placing an order for one as sure as pre-orders go live for the retail/limited edition versions. I'm glad to hear the founders edition has done so well. Congratulations!

I just can't complete a order as PayPal won't load and the credit card option also failed. Could be because I am not on my usual pc and won't be as I am away from home at the moment. A real shame.

My girlfriend said the spider was freaking her out in that Night Stalker demo! Great job with that! And I loved seeing the Lost in Space B9 killer robots! Will those be in the final version? I'd love to see Robby the robot make an appearance too - he's been known to play the "bad robot" in several old films and TV shows including the film "The Invisible Boy" and an episode of Project UFO (with a modified head), and and even played the villain robot in two different Lost in Space episodes!

That's the sad part about these extremely limited edition items these days - they sell out very, very fast. Sorry to hear some are having payment processing problems. I've been in the same boat with limited edition blu-rays which also sell out in hours sometimes.

That email got me to bite. I got the PayPal receipt email, but I couldn’t find any way to track it on the website. I hope to get a confirmation email from Intellivision as well.

If you can take the battery out, you can also replace it with a new battery.

Wouldn't fret too much. I expect a lot of people made repeat orders by mistake. There will be another chance to grab those.
