Just registered for E3... SO COOL to see Intellivision Amico on the list of "Products you are interested in seeing at E3".

I know which box I checked!

:)

That's awesome.

Tommy what does it feel like to have your company's product on an E3 list like this? Even being in the industry as long as you have and owning such crazy stuff like the Brown Box, It has to be crazy for you.

Yes!  Added 2 HUGE ones last week during our meetings at the D.I.C.E. conference in Vegas.

The 5 pack-in games are in Beta right now.  Lots of tweaking still to do to make them as perfect as possible... but so far, the initial fun factor is pretty high!  But the Beta stage is sometimes the most important.  Can make or break a game... so really focusing on making everything as playable and fun as possible.  The ramping of levels and balancing for a very wide audience of gaming is always a challenge... but something we feel confident about.

Excellent. More games = not SuperGrafx/Ouya/Stadia.

The games do need to be good, though, and fun, just like you said. Ten thousand different versions of CrazyBus would give you a bigger library than any other home console, but obviously wouldn't work very well for sales.

To my understanding, COPPA is specifically to prevent corporations from harvesting data on children. That should not be a government thing. It's insane companies don't have that moderation capability within themselves to the point the government has to step in because ads are targeting kids at a young age now.

It's a strange case but I don't believe anyone should be able to profit off ads specifically targeted to kids, sorry Youtube creators. Getting even more Google brainwash vibes.

It's a government thing because otherwise corrupt, arrogant companies like Google would sell kids' data anyway, regardless of the morality of it.

Ads targeted at kids are nothing new, though. Toys, kids' TV shows, etc., are a great example. Some of it is targeted at parents to buy stuff for their kids, but not all of it. Actually, Amico eventually, too, I imagine!

Was watching this over the weekend.  I like his channel.  Lots of good insights and he's a tech guy as well.

Yes, he is great.

Here is a bit the equivalent in France. He is always optimistic. He hasn't talked about Amico yet. (After E3 he will have no choice ! 😉 )

I’ll gladly volunteer for beta testing 👌😁 That would make my founders edition even cooler! I even have 4 kids(tho not your target demo age as youngest is 15) but we still use our Wii as go to family gaming system!

So where do I sign the NDA 🤣

So let's do an experiment.

Everyone here who bought the Flashback, why did you buy it? Probably "because it looked cool/because I had a Genesis or MD in the 90s/because I still have my old Genesis or MD carts/Mega Sg wasn't out yet/I didn't know it is bad/all of the above" if I had to guess, which basically proves the point I made earlier. The average consumer looks at something, says "that's cool" and buys it. Or they see it and don't care, so they don't.

I bought mine on a whim one day at Sam's Club years ago. It looked like a fun little way to replay a bunch of old Genesis games, and since I still had my original controllers and a few of my original cartridges. I still have my Genesis, but since it's so near and dear to my heart, I didn't want to put any more wear and tear on it than is absolutely necessary. The FB works well enough. I didn't know it has crappy emulation, and I still don't really notice it. People complain about the sound, but my original Genesis was always hooked up to an old TV with a bad mono speaker, so that's kind of how I'd always played those games.

Whoa! I always assumed the 88 in your nick was the year you were born... and it turns out it's your age!

Just kidding. 🤓🖖

Hey guys, the Sonic movie is a financial success... Sega, use the benefits and release the Dreamcast 2! Nah, I don't think so. 🦔

BTW Stadia is screwed. You want Ouya comparisons? Look no further.

The first sign of trouble with Stadia was when Phil Harrison walked out on stage at the reveal. Not sure if it's him or just coincidence, but that guy has a horrible track record in launching consoles. He was with Sony when they launched PS3. He was with Microsoft when they launched Xbox One. Now he's with Google launching Stadia. I think as long as Intellivision keeps him away from their reveal, they should do all right.

You know what else kills Stadia? Bandwidth caps. My sister downloaded Skyrim a while ago and then I gave her something on Steam and she was like "Yeah, I can't download anything else for the rest of the month because Skyrim." I think I gave her something super tiny like Steins;Gate or maybe Valkyria Chronicles. I forgot though. I did get her both of those. Forgot which one it was at the time.

Also get a Mega Sg if you didn't already. That thing is incredible.

Bandwidth caps are the worst.  I downloaded The Division 2 the other day... 100gb!!  WTF?  And then it requires me to be online anytime I want to play it?  That game alone is 1/4 of my data cap for the month. A game doesn't have to be that big to be fun.  Some of my favorite games of all time were loaded on a single floppy disk.  Most picture files are now larger than the games I loved.

I heard Sony won't be at E3.  I also heard Nintendo might not be either.  So it's just Microsoft & Amico.

Nintendo will be there... and Microsoft won't officially be on the show floor... they'll be down the street at the Microsoft Theater.

Yeah, it's fun to go look at FOUR MEGA POWER and GRAPHICS THAT WILL KILL YOU on the US box for Galaxy Force for Master System. Game is 4 megabits. You can probably fit basically the entire Sega Genesis/MD library excluding Sega CD games on a single CD. I do know the entire PC Engine HuCARD library fits on a single CD as well. Obviously all of the best games are on CD, though.

It's going to be a fantastic thing because Amico is going to blow up on Youtube. Everyone who covers E3 will have to cover Amico.

So many cool Intellivision IP's to choose from.  Night Stalker would be a cool, dark thriller. I wonder if you could work in a number of games into one film (not like Pixels, but more like Wreck It Ralph)

Maybe there is hope for the Metal Gear movie.

I personally would love it if Sega gave the cash from the Sonic movie to Atlus so they can make Shin Megami Tensei V a really awesome game. I don't know if they are ready to get back into hardware yet. Mini doesn't count, as it's just an emulator box. They are still recovering from the Dreamcast and Saturn failures, almost 30 years later in the case of the Saturn.

Poor Saturn. If more games had been released outside of Japan and the 32X never existed, Sega maybe wouldn't be in this sad state right now. We all lost something special when Sega died.

Haha, nah about to turn 47 this week..feel 80 sometimes as the 6 day work week grinds on ya lol. Tried getting MarioMan87 but was taken, as fall of ‘87 was the year my buddies and I discovered a little system called the NES!

Can’t wait to see the Sonic movie, heard its pretty good. Man, if we got a Dreamcast 2 I’d be in heaven. Doubt Sega will go down that road again. I did get the Sega Genesis Mini to add to my collection.
