Switch Joy-Cons work as light guns. They are not exceptionally accurate, though.

Don't know how you'd get a Switch Joycon to work on the Amico. BTW, does the switch still use a sensor bar for anything?

I meant they work as light guns on the Switch, not necessarily the Amico. That might be breaking some IP laws or something, anyway.

Switch has no sensor bar.

Ookami HD is the only game I know of with something like motion control aiming for the brush, though. Still, works just like a light gun would.

The Sinden works with PCs (unix?)(and now PS1/PS2), and the Amico has USB ports, so something could probably be fanagled through a firmware upgrade. It would only be carnival games or shooting ping pong balls at something to keep it at E10+.

Yeah, I have had my eye on that one for a while now. Polymega is using a variant it for their overpriced ZSNES/Kega Fusion emulator box.

Edit: Okay, maybe it's not ZSNES, but I forgot. The CEO told me what it was when I met him last year and got to test the Polymega, but I forgot. It is absolutely running Kega Fusion, that I do remember. It's actually quite an impressive system, by the way, but way overpriced for what it is.

Polymega, LOL. What I need is something like a NUC that is just powerful and affordable enough to run anything in RetroArch as well as PS2 and WiiU. Just paying off some bills first and trying to find a suitable mini PC box. The best thing about the Flashback 9 is it's utterly portable and nearly disposable, so I'd like a mini PC box like that.

Yeah, the Polymega is actually really cool, and I was rather impressed with it. I became significantly less impressed when he told me it's running a custom 64 bit version of Kega Fusion for Genesis/MD, though. They basically grabbed a bunch of emulators that they were able to get the licenses to, reworked them, and put them in a box that can dump the carts and play them through software emulation. It's basically a slightly less bootleg Retron 5 but with a more premium feel... and a price tag to match.

Overall, like I said, if you have the cash to spare and don't mind using an emulator box to "play" your physical carts or discs, Polymega is probably a good choice. If you aren't into the emulator box aspect or the price, not worth it. It does work extremely well, though, from what I saw. No problems with Saturn that I saw.

Edit: I see you down there browsing, kevtris. Don't worry, your stuff is way better.

Yeah, I can't do Polymega if it's emulation.

Tommy

Are there any 'classic' arcade racing type games in the vein of Pole Position, Outrun, or the Lotus Trilogy planned for the Amico?   I think the disc controller could work excellent with that kind of game.

This is the first console since the XBox 360 I have wanted to buy so really looking forward to October.  It's like being a kid again!

And if anything like Galaga makes an apperance....

Those are great driving games but games with that view perspective would be tough to do local multiplayer without splitscreen.

And we've haven't heard of any namco licenses yet.

I thought very briefly about getting it for light guns and not having to worry about running the Saturn's wonky resolutions through the OSSC... buuuuuuuuuuuuuut then I got a huge Trinitron 2 months ago and I already have Mega Sg, Super Nt, MiSTer, SFC, MDCD32X, and PC Engine, so I decided it's not my thing.

I recently re-got Lotus II RECS on the Genesis since it was included with the Nomad I got on Ebay and it's pretty damn awesome for what it is. Forgot how much fun I had with this game as a kid with the weird track making thing that doesn't let you actually make tracks. I don't even play racing games normally!
