Well, I was mostly just poking fun at him for being so aggressive to 80s gamers. Mostly ... I'm more of a casual gamer, so I see things differently. I did lose interest in gaming after my 2600 until I started seeing cool looking PC games around 2000, mostly because I owned a PC. I know there are a lot of great 90s games, but it didn't make the 80s games any less fun for many of us. It seems a little corny to me in 2020 to be complaining about how much better 28 year old games were compared to 38 year old games. I remeber playing a lot of Tetris and Blockout  in the summer of 1991.

Yeah especially since the old stuff all that Atari has for its VCS. That will really make it fly off the online shelves.

It will be cool seeing some of the old games new again.

I might not be as old as some here but I did start with the 2600. All generations have seemed to have their great games and share of crap. Turn! Turn! Turn! And all that fun stuff.

As I'm sure you know, this accessory is cheap and works and just sticks on to your controller making it a joystick. Been around since the 80's. Worked well just had to be careful when storing it or when throwing the controller at your brothers as we did back in the 80s.   Well not exactly throw, growing up with all brothers we never passed a controller civilly, instead you of course pulled the controller as far from the system as possible so when you let go it was like a rubberband and ziinged toward your brother.  You always scored extra if you could hit vour brother in the nuts doing that.  ahh good times.

We didn't throw the controllers, but I did bite my cousin once while playing his Intellivision.

Vengence was due. It was my turn to play and he made the choice to ignore me.

Also... not sure if you were all aware of this... but there is an Intellivision history book that is coming out that is going to BLOW EVERYONE away.

Nice! I wasn't aware of it, just added to my wish-list... :)

An updated version of Dodge'em and Maze Craze would be great. I'd love to see newly-realized Atari 2600 games. Colecovision would be great as well.

HOLY CRAP!!  I have that in the back room of Intellivision!!  I thought it was just something that someone made.

JUST KIDDING!!!!!!!!!!   I'm totally screwing with you guys!!  (Cmart just shit his pants).

🤣

Seriously though... I've never seen that picture before.  Is that a legit picture from marketing or a CES ad?  Or did someone just photoshop that later based on "rumors".  We have a TON of original documents and ads so I'm wondering if we have that.

Also... not sure if you were all aware of this... but there is an Intellivision history book that is coming out that is going to BLOW EVERYONE away.  The 2 guys working on it have been doing it for years and they have gone back and uncovered every story and interviewed hundreds of people about the original console.  They spent a day at my house and they have the most stories, research and documents I've even seen done on the original Intellivision.  It's actually pretty mind-boggling!  They are trying to get the book finished by 10.10 and I'll be promoting the heck out of it.  They are doing it more like a text book... but I've been talking to a number of different folks to make other Intellivision related books as well (like the Tim Lapetino Atari books... so amazing!).  Actually spoke to Tim about 6 months ago also (but he's too busy with other projects).

Anyway... just wanted to share that the definitive Intellivision history text book is being made and it's going to be awesome.

Well played sir, well played. For half a second my brain went “what?!?!?”

😂😂😂

Adventure, Yar's Revenge, Demon Attack, Atlantis, Dragonfire have been named and you can include Warlords, Sky Diver and Breakout too.  They've expressed interest in Pitfall, so that might come eventually.  I think they should remake ET the extra terrestrial.

Colecovision was mostly known for arcade conversions but did have some original cartridges too.  Which ones were you thinking of?

There's a YouTube channel called Intellivision Nation.  They have an ebook called From Intellivision to Amico.  It's a short book, only 20 pages but it's a fun read.

On their channel is a link where you enter your first name and email.  Then you can download the ebook.

WB has basically told us we can have anything we'd like.  They are big fans of what we're doing and we have a lot of good friends there.  Would probably start with the Williams stuff!  Joust & Robotron first I think!

Don't forget Defender! 😎

I'm so tired of Teraflops, frames per second and shaders.

15 forum pages in a couple of hours after the smallest hardware filtration, 30-somethings speaking about graphics and $500 price tags without any single gameplay idea revealed. Sony and Microsoft fanboys insulting each other ad infinitum.

Amico can't come soon enough.

By the way, China has reduced its emissions a 25% thanks to Coronavirus. It really makes you think.

Any guess's what Tommy/ IE will reveal next !!!! I hoping Rock Band type of game and accessories. We always had a blast playing this on the Wii. Not to mention it introduced my children to great music. Instead of this cr''p now coming out in the mainstream modern music industry.

How about a remake of Gauntlet or Dark Chambers for Amico?

This would make me the happiest gamer in the world.  Dark Chamber is an addiction and it could be a great speed run game

its as if no one at microsoft watched Silicion Valley ( Loved that show) .  Well at least they havent scheduled a (Gavin Belson) signature series yet.

I mean look at this thing, its a black rectangle, you could design it during a commercial break.

Since the PS3 and XBox 360 they've basically been low end PCs with their own OS and wacky GUI and they don't do much to hide it, although these new models may make console stacking more of a challenge.

It will be nice to have another alternative to PS and Xbox. Other than a few exclusives they are basically the same. 😕

It will be, after the original Xbox I kinda quit keeping up. Always buy the new Nintendo stuff but Amico will be nice change of pace. Got high hopes it brings some family fun back to our house!
