I got her to play some of the games, and she was actually laughing and enjoying them.  And believe me, that says A LOT!

Do you still use her as a test subject? 😉

As far as Amico is concerned, I will.  If you’re asking about other ‘tests’... she tests my patience every day, but that’s all part of the joy of marriage, right? 😆

Lots of controversial questions.... and answers! :)

Come on now. You're an Italian guy. You should stop acting modest in front of the camera. We both know that your real goal is much higher than 10 million consoles during its lifetime. 😉

OK. Sorry, but I have to do this... One of my clients is a charity organization that helps children with problems (problems of family violence, integration problems, economic difficulties, etc). Software and hardware companies like Microsoft or Dell use another organization called Techsoup (https://www.techsoup.org/ or, for Canada, https://www.techsoupcanada.ca/) to give donations or rebates to those non-profit or charity organizations (each company can define their own requirements for organizations to be eligible).

Would you consider the possibility for those charity organizations to buy one or two Amicos and a bunch of controllers (companies can set their own limits, for example Adobe allows just one discount per year) at a reduce priced? I think it would be really cool for Intellivision to do this.

Yo!,

Absolutely!  If it's only a few machines... I'm sure I could just send them some.  I'll pay for it out of my own pocket if I have to.

We are partnering with many similar organizations... like this one:  https://gamechangercharity.org/

They are the biggest non-profit organization in the video game industry.  We're also working with some really huge mainstream ones as well that I can't talk about just yet.  Health among seniors and children is a big focus for us.  I don't talk about it much at this stage for a variety of reasons as we can't stray from our core message for bringing family & friends together... but also because we don't need negative YouTubers making all sorts of false claims as to what the machine is trying to be, etc.  We're just gonna do our thing and make our announcements when the time is right and watch it all happen naturally.  :)

So when the time is right and we're closer to launch.  Feel free to PM me here and we'll set it up.

Thanks!

Implies the term "Willy Wonka" written on a planning board hints at possible prize drawing. Actual refers to plan for certain select YouTube personalities: 🤣

We have so many fun things planned!!  Golden Ticket anyone??

Correct - I may have been referring to certain YouTube punks. But Tommy is too nice for that, I am sure he meant a prize drawing - yeah that's right - only a prize drawing ;)

Don't give me any ideas.  I don't want to have to go full out Oompa Loompa on someone's ass!  :D

I know everyone has really been focused on the controller & games & such (including me). However one thing I am most wanting to see near launch is what Tommy has been steadily hinting at - just pure, whimsical fun is being built into the Amico 'OS', if you will. Way back in that Attack Media interview he mentioned things like birthday prizes for players, later talk of a console mascot (not sure how Nurmix is going to feel about wearing that Furry costume for the motion capture ;)), Easter Eggs, integrated interactive LED on the consoles & controllers, speakers, mic, etc. Just lots of little stuff here and there.

I am guessing Tommy is targeting that Nintendo cartoony sense of fun you get when you start a Wii console. Maybe in a little more edgy like a Warner cartoon, but still something like that. I just can't help but feel that giant comic library of Tommy's isn't going to seep into the Amico in some way.

An finally (in probably the worst analogy ever) I think the Amico console/controllers are going to be very Vegas movie/personality slot machine like (or maybe a pinball machine in an more family friendly analogy). Not all of the time ringing and flashing - just occasionally when you build up to something and then get a light show, vibrations & sounds when something special happens. Lets say you and several other players are running around trying to collect 'power crystals' or something, once you get 5 you can launch your special mega attack. When you do the robot control panel styled knobs & dials on the controller's screen turn to max and it starts vibrating, a localized 'power up' sound comes out of the controller while the LEDs on the controller start pulsing for a second until the mega attack is released. This 1 or 2 second sound & light show not only is entertaining for kids (and kid like adults, ahem) but also is the other player's warning the mega attack is about to go off so run for cover. Obviously would vary by game, your not going to see stuff that extreme in "Amico Chess" but maybe in "Junior Robot Battle", just things way beyond just a rumble when your sword hits on a PS4 controller.

I know this is totally off topic so it will be my one and only post on it. One wise saying from my mother was "take advice from those who do well" so - you mentioned you had a vision board and a couple of references to some philosophical stuff. Is there anything other books/personalities etc that shaped the Tommy Tallarico business/life mindset?

The best and easiest one (because they turned the book into a movie) is The Secret.  I'm pretty sure this is on Netflix.

This will give you everything you need to know!

Also...  Think & Grow Rich (book by Napoleon Hill).  An oldie but goodie.

For those keeping score...

You can read my response in the comments.

Wow, such a ridiculous comment from Pat.  Just mind boggling that he is so negative about the whole thing.  He should be supportive and encouraging of something new and exciting in the marketplace, and keep an open mind about it.  But sadly, we see his extreme close-minded mentality.  He also fails to see that he has misled people with false information.  Your response was spot on by the way, and so true.  Just keep forging ahead and prove the doubters wrong!!  Thanks for sharing.

Reminds me of a down home saying, "Every once in a while you will hit a skunk on the road. It stinks but the only way to get rid of the smell is to just drive faster." I think Pat is going to be feeling the sting of those tire tracks after the Amico launches.

Yeah... forget about all of the constant misleading that him and his partner do about me and the system, I'm just honestly surprised at how little he knows or understands about how the video game industry and PR works.  So a CEO of a company shouldn't do PR for a brand new console coming out?   And doing PR is a lack of confidence?!?   What a mind-boggling naive thing to say.  Then again... it's not like he's actually in the video game industry... but still...  you don't need to be involved with an industry to see the importance of getting information out there, answering questions and concerns and doing interviews (or in his case... correcting WRONG information because he made a mistake).   It's not rocket science.

Obsessed with him?  Not at all... he means nothing.  I just find it mind-blowing that he knows so little about a subject he makes a living off of talking about.

Yes, all that. Also tribalism, an us versus them mindset that is immune to facts, evidence, and reason. Recent example:

  1. One of the frequent posters in the private "Atari VCS Supports Group" boys' club recently went on a completely unhinged rant about coming to "the dark side" (this forum), accused a member of working for Intellivision carrying out a "coordinated attack" against the company wearing the skin of Atari.
  2. Then another cultist said that "Atari" should "press charges" against that person.
  3. The leader of the sad little tribe said "Atari should assert their trademark rights, and shut down 'Atari Age.'"

Way to go, "Atari," you've split your former fan base into factions.

This is overflow from the taco thread and the VCS supporter's group on FB. I guess my question for @Tommy Tallarico is...

How much does Intellivision pay for coordinated hit? 🤣🤣🤣

Exactly!  I don't understand why he doesn't get that.  It seems like he made up this feud out of thin air, and now he probably enjoys playing the antagonist to get attention.  There shouldn't even be a feud at all!  It's just so weird.  Anyway, we know you've put your heart and soul into the Intellivision brand and the upcoming Amico, and we're excited to see what's ahead!

I will be honest. It is time to move on from this. The Amico has nothing to gain from whatever you want to label the thing with Pat. When more comes out, or they have a chance to play or whatever, they may change their opinion.

The best thing to do is move on and for Tommy to not mention, talk about, or answer questions about Pat. That is taking away from the message of the Amico. It won't be an easy thing pushing this system, so why waste time, energy, and create distractions that will take away from the overall message.

I totally agree with you, it is time to move forward from it. I was just reacting to the comment from Pat that Tommy had shared.

Someone please make sure to respond saying that is total crap.

Besides... Atari doesn't need our help in destroying them.  Their doing a fine job all by themselves.

:D

I honestly hope they make something awesome and they've always personally been nice to me.  I hope the backers who put their trust into them are able to feel satisfaction with their purchase.  So I'm not looking to attack them or anyone who is a follower.  I know how hard it is to do something like this as the underdog... but it's fair to say that I would have done things much differentl.  It also needs to be noted that saying Intellivision is paying or getting people to attack them is complete and utter nonsense.

Yeah... it's getting a little too easy at this point to show how wacky the situation and thinking is.  I just thought it was interesting to show the level of absurdness he has taken this to.  I've received so many e-mails and PM's from other YouTubers (a lot bigger then them) and book writers/publishers who had very negative experiences... so I'm guessing this is just a patterned behavior.  I tried to be friends... but he feels it's in his best interest to keep a feud going.  So at this point I'm just going to take all of the air out of his sails and complete ignore him.  So hard sometimes when he says such ridiculous things.  :)
