Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

Recommended Posts

Seems like a minor feature but thanks to the Amico design team for using a USB C port on the controllers for charging. Major companies are still coming out with stuff using micro USB and it makes them look so dated, plus for me it takes at least 3 attempts to plug in a micro USB cable.

I just learned about the intense drama in the Atari VCS topic, with at least 3 different persons using Tommy's avatar... wow.

Keep in mind this is mocking a user on the insular Atari VCS Supporters Facebook group who accused @ColecoJoe of being @Tommy Tallarico(TT).  It's not really about TT:

I'm guessing the force is inferred from the number of contact points (directions) activated when we press on the disc.

More precisely, I'm guessing the part under the disc that makes contact is "rubbery", so the harder we press, the more it "squishes", which allows it to make contact with more than one direction at the same time.

Am I right? (That question is rhetorical only. Because of your parents, I don't expect an answer. 😉 )

This is how you use the new Amico controller...

So many positive comments online today.  Super cool.
With the bad week (year?) Atari has had, a lot of folks are comparing our updates to theirs.

In the spirit of having a little fun... I'm just gonna leave this here...

Too soon?
:D

I found a small technical inaccuracy in your graphic but fixed it for you ;)

But yeah it's totally this. Tommy's also been accused of perpetrating a insider hit to attack Atari by the same group. It is rather comical. But more in a sad sad way.

Go Amico!

Never played that one.  Yuck.  I just personally hate split screen stuff.  Okay for things like GoldenEye back in the day... but for modern games (especially widescreen) it really sucks.  You also feel disconnected with the others you're playing with.  Currently we don't have any split screen experiences on Amico.  That could change if the proper idea presents itself.  I'm certainly not opposed to it... just trying to avoid it if I can.  :)

The internet never ceases to amaze me with their ignorance and negativity.

So easy to just check... but that would take too much work... y'know... like 30 seconds.  Easier to just hate and spread lies to help push your false narrative.  He'd do well in politics.  :)

As I've mentioned before... Atari's doing a fine job of destroying themselves.  They certainly don't need my help.  :)

Will it be possible some day to have Tutankham Reimagined on Amico ? I think it was from Konami in 1982.

By the way, your new site is great, and I am looking for the shirt ( One for me, and one for my 7 years old boy ! :) )

Thank you for everything.

PMvs was a GREAT multiplayer IMO. My family had a crap ton of fun on this.

Split screen on this worked because it forced you to both work together and shout you see  PM, but also not too helpful because you needed to be the one to catch him. It it was online multiplayer it would probably not be as good.

Well, I believe it's now three things on which we disagree. I'd even say I completely disagree with you on that one.

If you listen to the video, you will hear that the three "ghosts" are exchanging information (like "he's going to the upper left corner") in order to chase Pac-Man. Three people talking with each other will feel a lot more connected than three people simply watching the same screen.

More than feeling connected, being able to exchange information can make people feel useful, despite having less abilities. This is particularly true for young kids. If they feel they have information that adults will find useful, the feeling of usefulness and cleverness when they reveal that information will be a great reward for them.

I do hope there will be some games that will use the controllers' screens in order to display different information to each player, precisely to encourage people talking to each other.

Hahahhaa!!   It's funny because I always just look for the Intellivision Disc to see where I left my last post... now you guys are making me have to pay attention more!  I was reading one of your replies thinking... "I don't remember saying that!?!"... before I realized it wasn't me.  :D
