Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

Not sure if these games were considered for Amico.  But they seem to be good options.

Kickle Cubicle for NES (1990) - MobyGamesAdventures Of Lolo Review – Nintendo Times

I love these block pushing/solve the room kind of games.  Definitely an under appreciated genre.  Original Zelda dungeons featured them, Star Tropics (another neglected franchise).. puzzle elements get incorporated into modern adventure games, evolved into directions like Lemmings and Oddworld, ChuChu Rocket, but these earlier style of games largely only carry on within mobile Play and Apple stores.  And they certainly aren't making games with a whole lot of depth for the visibility they get, yet alone multi-player.

The Lolo series was developed by HAL Laboratories and published by HAL/Nintendo.. HAL's always had a familial relationship with HAL so I don't think it'll come to Amico anytime soon.  A Kickle Cubicle game though...

Hoping to see this playstyle emerge on Amico and get some time in the sun.

You can never have too many shooters on a console.  I do like the shooting games.  This one looks like fun and could be on Amico.

Stargate is a sequel to Defender.  Defender is one of the highest grossing arcade games of all time.  Williams did have some of the best video games of the golden age e.g. Robotron, Joust, Sinistar.  The same company that owns them today also has Gauntlet.  Even though IE already has more than enough retro video game titles, they'd probably like to have some of these as well.

Wait how did I miss Robotron being a thing for Amico? The retro arcade near me has a cabinet and I love that game.

@Tommy Tallarico If you don't mind me asking Tommy, in the thumbnail of Brett Weiss' video, he is holding the "Galaxy Purple" variant I presume. Was this a demo unit? The color looks "dull" to say the least and doesn't match the official imagery, which looks pretty rad with the color changing hue. Reminds me of the cars from TVR, which I know you're a car guy, perhaps some inspiration? I'm assuming paint comes last? Will you do a video showcasing all the final units up close of all the color variants in the future? I'm sure those who pre-ordered would love to see them in all it's glory.

LOL,  My wife loves those Cadbury Eggs.  I just don't get it.

You need the Jelly Bean version also.  This is the one time a year I may eat jelly beans.

But her favorite thing is NECCO Hearts.  I may need to get the Glacier and buy "skins" from you!

Tommy, get CurlyQ an Amico shell so he can start the design process!

*Note: I didn't say an Amico.  If you give him a working console, he will be playing it, instead of designing for it! :)

Guys, does anybody know if Dynablasters and Nitro Derby can be more than 4 players? It would be cool if they were. 😀👍

Unfortunately, they don't have robotron or any other williams/wb license yet.  Thinking about defender, there's been so many rtype style games over the years; but not many games inspired by defender, one of the greatest shooters of all time.

The Dynablaster website says up to four players.

You must be from the future.  Because this podcast doesn't air until 4/4 @ 8pm ET.  You must have it confused with the podcast from 3/28.

At the event Tommy mentioned the various models on display were not final plastics (I think some may have had final parts, like maybe the red in the GTO red - but that is just my guess). I wouldn't put too much stock into the look of the dev units and shells there.

A new video from Brett Weiss, Astrosmash 😀👍

When I first saw Astrosmash in the teaser videos, the art style of the asteroids wasn't my favorite (it just seemed a little too realistic or high contrast, if that makes any sense). However on a big screen TV this game looks *amazing* (the soft camera focus in this video doesn't do it justice). The graphics are crisp and pop off the screen. If I were to show a gamer the Amico I would probably show them Astrosmash. If it was a kid, I would go for Shark! Shark!. These two games being bundled is genius.

Also note the ability for players to hop in anytime on Astrosmash. Like the controller disc color ring indicating which player you are, this seemingly small detail makes the Amico inviting for new players to join. It is really is designed for bringing people together for gaming.
