Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

Grudge... did you notice that when all the small kids were playing that they could hold the controller comfortably?  We spent a lot of time and focus testing designing it for different sized hands!

Good point and I totally forgot to mention that in the controller review! The perfect example was Stuttering Craig's family. He has to be 6 ft something, his wife is about normal height for a woman I would guess and his son of course is just a kid (not sure of his age but there were even younger kids later). All three were holding & using the controller just fine. Intellivision has done an impressive job with the controller ergonomics. Fitting comfortably to that variety of people's hands isn't an easy task, but totally matches the kid to parents to gramps & grans philosophy of the console.

Tommy, do you know how much internal memory will be available after the operating system and the 6 free games are installed? Thanks 👍😀

I think he said something like 24GB left over.  I may have that wrong.  But remember you can always add an SD card for more storage.

Seeing that big ass Saturn controller really threw me for a loop!  I forgot how crazy and huge that thing was!

:)

Found this online for us all to gaze at:

We love our Dreamcasts, how do we all feel about the controller? : dreamcast

To go from that.. to the hand cramping nature of a single joycon controller.. ouch..

Thanks for keeping an eye on the shop for new stuff @Intellivision Master!

The new Amico Pi to Running Man socks are crazy, weird and I love them :)

Another confirmation that the Amico is running on a Raspberry Pi!!! WE knew it!!! LOL.  The socks are mesmerizing though... I believe Tommy has confirmed it's not a Raspberry Pi.. But what about a Banana Pi? Rock Pi? Nano Pi? Beagle Pi? (Should have posted this a few days ago). Great. Now I want dessert!

THE MOST IMPORTANT INTELLIVISION AMICO VIDEO SO FAR!!

For over 3 years I've been telling people around the world how Amico is going to bring families and friends together like no other video game platform. I've talked about how simple and easy the games are to pick up and play (no matter what your age, gender or gaming skill level) and how intuitive, unique and incredible our controller design is. And although we've done years of focus group testing, now that the worst of COVID seems to be in the rear view mirror, we wanted to finally get out and show Amico in a public place for the first time and have people play it and get their thoughts. So a week and a half ago we took Amico and 11 of our launch games and traveled to Texas to the National Videogame Museum to share with the general public. Here is our video overview of that most incredible and exciting day!

We have 10 days left for our SEC approved investment opportunity on Republic (the same portal that Elon Musk used for SpaceX!). As of this post, we've already raised over $9.7M (we raised millions more through other means as well).  If you'd like to learn more you can check it out here: https://republic.co/intellivision-amico
There is a great Discussion/Q&A area as well as an FAQ that answers most questions.  If you have any questions related to the offering, it's better to ask/leave your questions there.

Thank you all for your support and interest in Intellivision over the past few years. I'm pouring my heart and soul into this and giving it everything I possible can to make it a huge success.

I can't wait for everyone to play it for themselves!!

Tommy,

That new video you showed us today was great.  I liked seeing and hearing reactions from the parents and kids.  I'm glad they enjoyed the console as well as the controller.  By the way, Tommy, I noticed there's a Vectrex behind you at the start of the video.

@Tommy Tallarico - Now that you have several games in (or about in) the can, do you believe your initial estimate of around 6 months for a typical games’ development is still accurate, at least once you are able to shift resources from the design, testing, manufacturing and launch?

Speaking of fabrication start, are you able to share a new target production start date?

Thanks!

The best part of the video was when the little kids complained about the lag and said that only a company with the know-how such as Nintendo could have avoided it.

Great video and I got to see at least several of those people and families playing. Have to say that when the games were going everyone was engaged and people even just hung around in the background just watching too. The Amico has the ability to draw a crowd.

Another fun video. Loads of people that aren't the "regulars" on this forum. Including families. People addressed ease of use. Responsiveness. Having that mom talk about connecting with their children through video games. That hit home. The controller is the barrier.  There is no way around that. Seeing both young and old have fun makes me smile.  I may have mentioned this a while ago, but Just in case -  I have an autistic son. Anything to help him connect with his mom. She sits through his shows that he likes. JUST to connect. To be able to interact with him and not just sit beside him while watching something would mean a lot. And if she has a chance to keep up with him AND beat him, all the better.

My son's two passions are -  1)Lego. 2)Video Games.  Usually in that order. Unless a new Lego, Pikmin, or Luigi's mansion game come out. Then it gets jumbled.

Who wouldn't like to see some form of Lego License on the Amico? I'm sure something uniquely fun could be done on the system.

It would be good to have a Lego game on Amico.  Wouldn't that be something?
