Demon Attack and Atlantis were two of my favorite Atari 2600 games as a kid. The picture of the flying "demons" (which were really just rubber dinosaurs with jet packs on their backs) scared the crap out of me.

Did you ever play the Intellivision version of Demon Attack?  It was so much better!

But my Sega clamshells are like new. Can't say that about too many NES, SNES, Atari etc games...

But that takes all of the fun out of trying to keep it perfect over the years or trying to find a perfect one a few decades from now.

I am so looking forward to any of the Imagic games that I used to know and love when I was a kid.  I had Beauty & the Beast, Microsurgeon and Demon Attack, can't wait to see the reimagined versions of those.  Stuff is starting to feel close..I can see October in the near future...

Yes!  We are looking forward to working on all of those!

Should hopefully start to see development starting in early 2022.

Hey, wait a minute @Tommy Tallarico?!? I thought you were supposed to run off with all the money after that Republic deal closed? You know, abandoning your house, cars, Video Games Live business, 30 year career & multi million dollar retro & comic collections in order to scam some investors. So I guess you are running off to Mexico after E3? We just want to know so we can finally celebrate being right on something for once. Even my Mylar party balloons are starting to deflate at this point - please let us know - thx.

I think it's going to be this new time for a while.  Until OEB Pete decides to change it again.  Hopefully you can stop by.  Maybe drop some more exclusives.

I am altering the time. Pray I don't alter it any further.

No, I wasn't aware that there was an Intellivision version, but I'm not surprised it looked better. The Intellivision consistently looked better than the Atari 2600.

It had a whole other extra boss level as well!

Tommy, when this is all over and Amico is long gone and has become a worldwide hit as I'm sure it will, I think you need to write a book.  A book that tells the story of Amico, how the idea of making a new Intellivision console was born, the release scheduled for 10/10/2020, the founders' edition sold out in a few hours, the pandemic, the postponement  the release date, the funny anecdotes and a thousand unexpected events, the haters, and this awesome Atari Age thread.  In short, a fantastic story, I think it could sell well.  Among other things, you could write it at night since you sleep little.  Wouldn't that be something?

I thought Microsurgeon was one of the two Imagic titles already started.  Was that one suspended?

If nothing else, check out Tommy's talk about E3 and he shows off the Finnigan Fox controller screen and some more gameplay live:

Did that guy in the chat who really wanted to hear more about EWJ ever get his wish?

The design is started on Microsurgeon and some test stuff, but not the actual programming because the team is finishing up a big title for us.

I was on Streamyard on my phone and couldn't see the chat.

What did he ask?

I did talk a little about EWJ... but basically saying that I can't really say much about EWJ just yet because of some really big news coming down in about a month or so.

:)

Brilliant video with great points made by someone who was originally not excited about Amico, but after finding out more, is now a fan.

He gives his thoughts and counterpoints on the negativity and hate he received because he "liked" a new video game console for his family.

You really owe it to yourself to get the Intellivision version and try it out ASAP, even if it's through emulation.  I used to wonder what the fuss was all about with Demon Attack.  I didn't care for the Atari version much and then I tried the Intellivision version and it blew me away (pun intended)!  I love the fact that Intellivision added some great background graphics and of course the boss stage.  It keeps you coming back for more!
