Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

Recommended Posts

Really nice trailer that showed off a lot of what is coming to Amico (and nowhere else).

I thought AD&D looked great and kept the feel and look of the original while still being more modern.  I also loved all the games that were shown that didn't seem to be reimaginings of classic games. I think in the end, those are the ones I'm most looking forward to.  Cornhole (still a weird name for me) is looking great. Farkle just happens to be my daughter's favorite game, so I know we'll spend a lot of time with that.  I'm also looking forward to Armor Battle and Bi-Planes.

The motorcycle stuntman game also looked great and reminded me A LOT of Joe Danger.  I'm not complaining since I think the two Joe Danger games are really great, and I'd love to see how multiplayer is brought into that.

Great job with the trailer.  My only complaint is it leaves me wanting more.  And I'm surprised you didn't talk for 30 minutes about the processor inside and how many megaflops it can do or something ;)

I’m soooo curious ! Maybe ideal for a pack in ? The pack in games could potentially make or break the system. (Wii sports)  I’m sure you will include the top games so people can have fun and promote the system right out of the box.

Maaaaaaaybe.

:)

Question Tommy.  1st, can't add exaltations to the trailer than my previous brothers/sisters.  It was just GREAT!  I know you had stated having talks with MLB but can you give an update to the status of Baseball on Amico?...  and a bunch of screen shots?...  and a playable demo?  That's all I want (until I log on tomorrow).

Buy an amico and 10 games  get a free footlong.   Or buy so many items from subway  using an amico app for special rfid code at point of sale and get game discounts and chance to win prizes or games.

Plus a surprise visit from Jared. Oh wait, I guess you'd have to go visit him. Isn't he in prison or something?

So I pre-ordered the Founders Edition, and I'm really excited for it.

After seeing this latest trailer, my wife messages me and says, "I think we need a second one.  We need a white one too."

Looks like we're getting two.  One to match the one she had growing up (wood-grain) and one to match the Intellivision II I had as a kid.  Can't wait.

What's incredible about Amico, Intellivision Entertainment and Tommy Tallarico ? They make us dream !

They remind us of how happy we were, and how different it was !

Not only related to video games, but everything that surrounded this era !

A simple example from today. It only took one game to remind me that one of my friends when I was around 8 had Evel Knievel has an idol !

And believe me, he had his look too, but not his talent and his recklessness ! lol

I knew the name, but I never saw any stunts from him. And today, I am all in, looking everywhere to know the story of this man.

Look at this picture.

image.thumb.png.ca1152c0a8f32fedcc2f192f409187f4.png

Do you think it's exaggerated to see him fall like a doll ?

NO !

Evel Knievel died in 2007, surprisingly not from a stunt !

Here's his Career highlights ( only 4 minutes ) after they announce is death !

You have to see this. It's amazing the number of times he falls hard whether it succeeds or not !

It would be incredible if the game made us relive he's history !( Highly possible )

Objective 1 : Jump 90 feets

Objective 2 Break 30 or more bones ! 🙄

Tommy ... Who in your team had this brilliant idea ?

And that's just an exemple.

Thanks to all of you making us dream while we are waiting.

Can't imagine what's next !

I'm really impressed by the look of AD&D. I absolutely love the blocky retro art style. Another thing I'm really enjoying is the "glow" lighting effects that a lot of the games have. Very cool and reminiscent of old arcade monitors.

I also liked the closer following camera in the racing game. I know some people did not and I respect that. Perhaps there could be an option to choose which camera you prefer?

Great trailer Tommy.

For me the heroes of the trailer are Skiing...looks so fun and fast. Super Sprint (or what i'm calling Super Sprint) love the camera. Cornhole...physics look decent. Bomberman...because its Bomberman!

And how in the hell did you get PONG to look like that...OMFG man...i now have to buy PONG because of that...like its not even a question...but its PONG...why would I do that to myself...you're forcing my hand!!!

Whoo hoo great gameplay teaser! Already pre ordered 2 FE’s so I’m good there! Wait till early October....unbearably long. Not since I been buying video game systems at launch can I recall so many quality titles available on launch day! Plus several built it! Just like you say Tommy, incredible value to the consumer.

Congrats and man, can’t wait for more footage of games like football and baseball! Ugh October is so far away 😬

I knew that a lot of folks our age would appreciate it!  Been dreaming about doing this game for 40 years!  He was a big hero of mine growing up... and probably like everyone here... had the wind up toy & action figure of course!   :)

Yes... the game replicates a lot of his career.  And LOTS of surprises as well!  Adding the rocket, a truck, buggy... and others!  All of the uniforms, helmets & bikes (which you'll need to unlock) are available... even including his cape!

And the great thing is that we're working with the Knievel family!  Not sure if folks know the career that his son Robbie had.  It's pretty AMAZING.  Here's a GREAT video of Robbie's career.  His jump over the Grand Canyon was absolutely AMAZING!!!

This game WILL be available on launch!

The Evel Knievel game was an eye opener to say the least.  I certainly do remember Robbie Knievel as well.  The old arcade Stunt Cycle must have been inspired by Evel Knievel.

Were those actual Evel Knievel posters is the game.  Couldn't help but notice the Toronto poster.  Couldn't find it on the internet but found this.

The trailer is amazing! It was well worth the wait to see it I think.

Skiing looks like it will be a lot of fun, and has the potential to also be quite challenging (avalanches, jumping chasms and crumbling snow packs; wow!)

Astrosmash already looked great, but I love seeing more of it. It is likely going to be my go-to game for quick casual gaming. Just like the original was (though I had to settle for playing Astroblast on the 2600).

Oh, Cloudy Mountain! Such a quick tease, but I love what I am seeing! I do believe I saw at one point the Runningman's bow aiming independently from direction of movement; it will be interesting to see how that works with the Amico controller. I am definitely looking forward to playing this game!

Super Sprint, now there is a game I have not played in decades. It was fun to play solo, but the real enjoyment was in when you got a few friends and went head to head. This is another 'must have' game for myself. So, the question I have now is when is the Amico getting a steering wheel adapter? :D

The Evel Knievel game is going to be an almost criminally level of enjoyable to play. As a kid I loved and was thrilled by watching his outrageous stunts. He was so popular he he was basically a franchise into himself; inspiring cartoon series and spoof characters like Super Dave Osborne.

Everything you have shown so far is spectacular; I have yet to see something I would not want to play. The curating of titles is impressive.

You are making it very difficult to wait the remaining six months, three weeks until the Amico is released!

What... no love for the fabled classic Safe Cracker!   This looks like a winner all around!

Graphics are great and the look/style seems to remind me of someone else's old bank robbing days... lol!   Real cool retro look.

Another amazing step forward for the Inty team, and another tease to keep us salivating like the ravenous animals we are!

.....but please, please, PLEASE bring Bomb Squad to the Amico and the 21st century?

I totally forgot about Super Dave! How cool would it be if he was an unlockable character.

From this screen, we can see the father with his avatar for his profile. Cool !

image.thumb.png.1e60218d4e1cc35163bb8faafb69d646.png

In my opinion, it seems like an advertisement has already been filmed ? 🤔

And I have a question about the next screen from this same game.

image.thumb.png.f64b0f398a14999b59550af64d3cba03.png

I think we have to be realistic that with this kind of game it will be difficult to translate for other countries !?

Exemple, the first picture is a Rat !  ( Same thing in french, so for this one no problem. )

But for the second picture, we have to find the letters A T. In english no problem with a Hat, but in french it's "chapeau". Nothing to help.

So Tommy, can you confirm that worldwide, to play this game we will have to think in English !? 🙄

Thank you, and again, great job !
