You two should watch that Intellevison logo cup reveal video together.

Hahahaha.

The anticipation of seeing the logo slowly reveal as Pete smiles gleefully and Tommy bangs his head saying "come on already!!" Would be priceless

I literally laughed so hard reading this I woke up my kids, thanks for that .... LOL

I am working on a 2 hour video breaking down that 2 second clip  :)

I will watch the entire video 3 times.

I'm not joking.

I sometimes go to your Amico video list and play them back to back.

I've only done that twice now so that's not considered fanatical....yet.

Lol

Seriously though your videos are great and I even occasionally watch the pop figure ones too.

Also the ones about buying PSP games.

I have a collection of psp games too. Not many just around 200 I think. I cant remember last count.

🙂

AD & D Cloudy Mountain was also one of my favorite game. I was maybe 12 years old.

I often mistaken this game with Swords & Serpents that I really liked a lot too !

Did someone played and liked it ?

Those Nintendo fanboys (Pat and Ian) said Amico is not worth 250$. Let's not forget that Pat spent thousands of dollars to buy Nintendo World Championship-cartridge. Just a piece plastic sitting on a shelf, must be worth it. Oh, and he made a catalog of all Nintendo games AND Snes games so he must be better than others.

Great post.

Avoidance, ignorance, ego and tribalism.

Yeah... the big 3 wouldn't show unfinished footage for sure.  But we're not them.  If we had 20 million people on our mailing list and social media... we could be a little more discreet as well.  But we don't.  And it's important that we build from the ground up in a grass roots kind of way.  Showing the process of building the machines and games is a very different approach... but one that we can do because of who we are and how we're approaching everything.

That’s why this is such an amazing experience ! Showing Unfinished games and letting us experience the process. I am so thankful !!

The Pat & Ian video was hard to watch. So much pure hatred. They claim they are only being objective, but you can tell they get excited pretending to be right and know it all's.  Na na na na na, i told you so.

Hi all, for the last week or so, have been reading most of the posts here, from page one, trying to catch up on all the discussion over the last year, and have finally made it to the last page!  Lots of cool (and some not so cool) stuff!  I got a (literal) list of post topics that I want to eventually get to, but thought I would come out of the gate with my thoughts on the whole P & I debacle; in my opinion, nothing more needs to be said beyond “consider the source”.  These guys live (and will eventually die) based on their click count, stir the pot, wind ‘em up - watch them go mentalities (using “men” loosely here). Think they take enjoyment from their feeling to be on equal (or likely superior, from their accounts) ground with the accomplishments earned my Mr. TT and the rest of the IE team. Those accomplishment come at  a time and effort cost that most simply do not want to invest; heck P&I can’t even be bothered to do the most basic of research, but who needs to waste time on that when your objective has nothing to do with reality?  They are obviously entitled to their opinions, but hope all could agree this goes beyond that.

Anyway, I grew up on Intellivision and am so happy to see this great potential for it to come back to the mainstream, in what ever form. More importantly, I lived the days when multi-player shifted from “2-player” to “internet connection required” as identified on the back of the packaging.  It was the time that the industry diverged from what I enjoyed most about gaming. Guess that puts me in the other 2.8B people camp.  I’m excited to see the return of couch co-op, and as Tommy has stated in many podcasts, those experiences are the gaming memories that have stuck with me through the years. Staying up all night playing Sea Battle and Auto Racing at a friends house, such a great time.

A few last things for this post; 1) l can’t recall another time in my life (and I’ve been around a while) that a CEO or any other high ranking company official (including at my own company) has taken the time that Tommy does to interface with, what will in the end be, a small (albeit, loyal) subset of IE’s ultimate customer base.  I for one appreciate all the insights and tid bits of info and back stories i’ve gotten on the effort; it just makes it all that more special. 2) my opinion, the games look great!  Given Tommy passion, I am more then confident the game play experience will be superb, regardless of where similar versions of the games may already exist;,who cares?  Even if it were a 1:1 with mobile (and its so not), I’d buy it just for the sake of loosing the adds, micro transactions, etc... 3) IE has got to make a Craps game! Pick bets on the controllers and your chips go from your seat to the appropriate bets on the table, rolling the bones down the table, and with up to 7 of your friends and family..., that would be so special (well with much of my family, anyway).  Think it would be a great addition to the library and think I even saw a reference to a Craps game associated with the original Console, but don’t think that ever made it to fruition.  Hoping this could fall within E-10+, if the alcohol isn’t included :).  Keep up the GREAT work over at IE and am looking so forward to playing this system soon; and thank you for working so hard to bring back what most of us here know has been sorely missing in our current society.

D&D Cloudy Mountain, Treasure of Tarmin, Swords and Serpents, Tower of Doom, Thunder Castle all great games. Intellivision had a lot of dungeon crawlers.

The clip of the "Bean Bag Tossing game" (which is what I will call it going forward) actually made me think that I'm looking forward to more use of the motion control features of the Amico controllers. I still love using the Wii controllers to play Baseball on Wii Sports.

Yeah, I'm still looking forward to someone making a full blown Tennis game with motion controlled that isn't all glitchy like the dedicated Wii, Kinect Xavix, etc. games. I've thought about this being, in part, the Wiintellivision mashup with everything much improved.

And then you were probably called a Tommy fanboy.

Some of the YouTube comments from "other" AA forum members are pretty telling.  Read the nonsense that the likes of folks like djconvoy spout about how you're all just blind fans of mine who don't have a mind of their own and only want to try and get close to a pseudo 3rd rate celebrity in hopes that I pay attention to you.

The reality is I don't know any of you before this thread started... and I've never met 95+% of you in person.  They use the same sad excuses over and over again.

1.  Anyone who likes the system is nothing more than a Tommy fanboy looking for attention.

2.  Everyone really hates it and we must block all the overwhelming negative comments on our YouTube channel.

If that was the case... how come we have over 51,000 views in 3 days on the new trailer and just over 100 Dislikes on the video?  Simple question that they have no answer to when confronted.  As I've stated many times... yeah... we take down filthy language and clear on purpose hatred.  But it's literally the same 7 or 8 people over and over and over again.  Every time.  Same handful of folks.  It's pathetic.  btw... you want to know who the folks are who get nuked from the comments?  CLEARLY THE ONES WHO ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT IT!!   :)  And it's the same handful of folks every time.  btw... almost ALL of which have been banned from this thread in the past.  They of course go on to say that I have all the mods in my back pocket to do my bidding.  No matter what proof is given or the reality is... they don't care.  Same lies over and over and over again.  Nice lives eh?

Been playing games since Intellivision thanks to my parents owning it since I was born but I never once gave any thought to who programmed the games or supplied the audio or anything until this announcement of a new Intellivision hit my email in May 2018.  Since then I dove into the history of the company found out about these amazing people, and gotten a chance to interact with the ceo of a company on a regular basis, asking questions and learning more about this system that I'm very excited for, before thst I couldn’t have picked Tommy out of a line up.  So it’s not some celebrity crush that drives me but his attitude and how approachable he has been and the fact that he always follows through with what he says he will do as long as it’s in his control.

Tommy, about Cloudy Mountain.

Can you tell us if it's one of the exception and that the game will be only for one player ?

Can you say something about it, or is it too early ? 🙂

Definitely 3 (woodgrain, black, white).  Purple, Red, Pink & something special we haven't said yet are still being affected by coronavirus... so decisions not final.  The Special Editions are a lot more expensive to make... and in order to keep the price in check we need to order a bunch (i.e. at least 35,000 units).  We're just not sure we can manufacture the 3 we already have... PLUS additional ones (in time for Christmas/Holidays)... but we're trying our best.

Is the "something special" version going to be made of meat, like that Mac that sold so-so?

Hey @Tommy Tallarico maybe a game to consider down the road, and only achievable using the slick Amico Controllers, would be Tiddly Winks.

You remember that game?

We played it all the time in Rhode Island as kids.

I could see fun ways to do this on an Amico.

Simple yet effective co-op gaming.

I just now finished watching/listening to your unlisted response video while programming Colecovision game.  It makes a lot more that you couldn't share too much information due to patent issue.  Nintendo had to be secretive for that reason too since one company tend to add it to their product after it been revealed.  And you're been in the industry for a long time, since the NES days.

I think Pat and Ian is trying to treat this like the Coleco Chameleon, but you have shown product, games, let people to try it out.  And you're right, you couldn't do those games on the PS4, Switch(Joycon might still do some of them but there's no screen. Plus Switchlite remove those features), and the XboxOne.  And we do need more fun coop games too.  Plus, I don't think the Amico can be stuffed into the Jaguar shell.

Them making fun of the games being shown sours me since a lot of people have worked on the product already.  They have way too much negativity in their lives.  And you said, a lot of people on your team have worked their butt off for this system.  So yeah, I'm definitely on your side now.  They need to watch that response video and understand from your point of view. Wow...

as someone who's been very much looking forward to this system from its very inception, i must admit that the fire of my enthusiasm was a bit waned when i first saw the cartoonish, cel-shaded graphics from the original reveal trailer last year. i was actually hoping for something a bit more pixelated in the spirit and fashion of an old 80's arcade room. But, nevertheless, it wasn't the end of the world, and i was pretty much like, ok... whatever. i still ordered the founders'. But then the most recent trailer showed us an infinitesimal glimpse of the conceptual design for AD&D, and i was like... that. THAT! That right there! is exactly what i was hoping for! that RAW!, UNFILTERED, geometric, arcade art style that resonates in its pure, aesthetic simplicity, and which captures the very quintessence of a video game's soul, marrow, and constitution; And which instantly precipitates a myriad of connotations that revolve around all the warm feelings associated with old pizza parlors, familial bonding, and the cascade of disparate yet mellifluous sounds emanating from the back quadrant of a hotel lobby located on the las vegas strip.

you say it's unpolished. that it's a work in progress that still needs to be refined. well... i say it's PERFECT! i say it's perfect precisely because it *IS* so unpolished; And because it lacks that gaudy, soulless, white-washed, empty veneer of the modern era. i understand you don't want to give the general crowd any misgivings or wrong impressions about what this machine is and is not; But, hopefully... you'll leave just a few of these games in this beautiful, pristine, and undefiled state in order to cater to those of us who still know how to appreciate the savor of an undercooked steak without the need to drown it in barbecue sauce.

Hi Tommy,

New to the group here and wanted to extend a big thanks from my self in bringing back Intellivision in such a big way, and for also being so involved here as well. The Intellivision has always been my favorite system (but thinking Amico will finally change that) and like you, it was a huge part of my childhood.

Have you you ever seen Skate Cross?  I saw you mentioned Ski Cross a few hundred pages ago, but this looks like it could be made into a fun game (right behind Craps :)). This is probably bigger in Canada then here in SoCal, but think it looks fun no matter where you live.  Any chance there are any Skate Cross games on the IE list?

Here is a link to a good video if you are not yet aware of the sport

Finally, a question: someone a while ago (forgot who. Sorry!) mentioned tax and you said yes, tax because of the law. Question is if the tax is included in the price. So like you guys are targeting $9.99 and below, so I'm curious about if that will that exceed $9.99 with tax or be $9.99 with tax included maximum.

I was the one who mentioned the tax thing.  That's what I wanted to know, was if the tax was already included in the price.  On the Nintendo Switch eshop, Neo Geo games are $7.99 and that's it.  I think the tax is included.  Otherwise it should be $8.47.  Where I live the tax is 6%.

Okay. Tax is always weird to me because I'm from Alaska and we don't have sales tax, so when my family moved to the lower 48 I was really confused when everything was more expensive than what was written on the price stickers and stuff. Here in Japan they either have it included in the price or there are 2 prices displayed together, one without tax and one with tax.

I just did an hour long interview with the Dorkalicious folks.  They were very lukewarm on one of their recent Amico videos so I reached out to them.  After the interview I asked them if they still felt the same way.  They said no and that they totally understand what were doing and who were targeting.  Really cool interview and I reveal some things.  :)

Should be up this weekend I would imagine.

Can't wait to see it Tommy.

The tax always appear at the end on the switch !

It's like on Amazon or whatever, price is always without taxes, and they appear in the final step.

And why they are always saying 7.99 $ instead of 8.00$ ?
That's the same thing here. Customers need to see the price at his lowest to increase the chances of purchase !! 😊

So it will be the same thing with Amico.

Not only that, taxes vary from state to state! It would be much more complex to have to subtract taxes from the price indicated, because Intellivision Entertainment must pay taxes to the government anyway!
