Tommy any chance we get a football game on launch? 10 Yard Fight reimagined? Tecmo Bowl clone? New original IE football game?  Thanks!

Probably not on launch.  Would rather release around Christmas or January when the playoffs start and the hype is off the charts.

Tommy, will it be possible to not be able to eat our friends ? ( Co-op )

Yeah... of course.  Even in Co-Op.  So sometimes you need to be careful.  You see it happen twice in the latest clip by the orange fish.  :)

I'm not talking the actual.game itself but taking the property and making a game around it.  Popeye can cross multie genres from.spooky to pure comedy

...its the original beat em up  in ways  as far as the original animated shorts

I can agree with your feelings on the nintendo arcade title. .

Ah!  Sorry... misunderstood.

I could think of a lot bigger and better ones before doing that... but ya never know!

Boxing we haven't thought about just yet.  Spoke to MGM about getting the Rocky license... but it's expensive.

Tommy, my son and I ( and some friends ) are really big Rocky Fans ! ( Also the Creed Series. ).
I have no doubt getting the Rocky license will be expensive.
But if Amico is succesful, and you have more money, please do it ! 🙏
I know we will have incredible value from you for career mode, etc. ( Not like the VR game you bought )

Music and sound will be unbelievable. I know your best movie from the franchise is Rocky III, really good, but ours are Rocky IV ! Music non stop, touching moment in the Lamborghini, etc ...

If someday you do it, do you have an idea in mind who could make this game ?

Thank you.

Never give up tommy .  ( may or may not be an example of the amico marketing team in training prepping for late summer early fall)  (  "wouldn't that be something")

I played it.  Not bad.  As a solo game I got bored after about 10 minutes.  Would probably play it for hours if I could play it couch co-op or versus.  :)

That’s the point that eliminates the  “Amico games are like mobile games” argument. Playing alone gets old fast. 10-15 minutes and it’s done.

I'm always careful to say 2 separate controllers.

And even though you can "split" the joycons... it certainly doesn't work for every game.

I always give the example of when me & my wife bought Wheel of Fortune and wanted to play 2 players.  WE COULDN'T!!  It wouldn't allow us to split the controllers or even PASS the controller!!!!!!!!!!

Had to have a 2nd controller in order to make a 2nd player.  So annoying and stupid.  2 people are NEVER playing at the same time during Wheel of Fortune and you only need 2 inputs (joystick or d-pad and one button).  So there was ZERO reason to not have the ability to pass the controller or split the controller.

Just another small example of how couch co-op is being ignored or dropped by folks developing on the Switch.  And although a great machine, it is NOT the end all be all couch co-op system some people would have you believe.

The only games games I play when family and friends come over are the jackbox games. That’s it. They are pretty much all casual gamers. They will love the Amico ! And I’m a great salesman when I love a product  ! I already ordered a FE for my brother without even asking him ! He will take it when I’m done talking about it ! Lol

Good guess... but not bowling.  Too much like Cornhole and I didn't want it to seem like we were trying to copy the Wii.  That being said... we will DEFINITELY have Bowling available on launch!

Considering the skew to parents with young children as THE market of all markets they want to attract the most attention, I think the final pack-in is more likely than not something from the "edutainment" bucket.

It wouldn't be Sesame Street, The Learning Company, The Electric Company, Nickelodeon, or anything commercially licensed - that'd cut into the profit margin presented to investors.

I think we haven't seen this sixth game yet.  It could be an older Intellivision property utilized in a novel way to encourage learning and problem-solving (looking at you, Bomb Squad, with your built-in group-encouraged problem-solving dynamic).  I wouldn't rule out Intellivision buying outright the rights to a lucrative property if affordable enough, but I don't know enough about the market for buying IPs.  Though I suspect this unannounced title is a new IP we haven't heard or seen.

I don't think it'll be Back Chat either - while that had *the most* positive feedback from play-testing and could become a software hit that gets a lot of buzz and people into the online store.  Could also be a potential system-seller but you need enough word-of-mouth to make that happen over the course of a year or two.  So I think it won't make the pack-in cut.  And while Tommy's talked (I think?) about how these systems switched to a killer-app - Genesis had OK sales, then they switched the pack-in from Altered Beast to Sonic and it blew up; how Nintendo smartly switched to Super Mario Bros/Duck Hunt from Duck Hunt & Gyromite; how Atari shrewdly switched from Combat to Pac-Man, and how Intellivision's were modest with Blackjack/Poker as its pack-in, finding success after switching to Astrosmash, I suspect more weight is being placed on perceived value and variety, appeal to all ages, than to a single game everyone simply has to have.  At $2.99 - $9.99, adding a best-seller to a system you want to buy is a trivial expense, it's an installation surcharge fee - I don't think customers are not going to buy a system because the killer-app isn't inclusive, if said killer-app is the price of a cup of coffee.

Plus, we have one sports title (Skiing)

One recreational sports title (Cornhole/bean bag toss)

Two classic arcade-style titles (Astrosmash, Shark! Shark! - though the latter I think more casual/approachable and less of a retro game play for consumers to associate)

One recreational/board game title (Farkle/Dice)

That leaves edutainment as the only core unaddressed title.  "Something for Everybody" is the messaging for the pack-in games.

Hi Tommy, I was born with Intellivision ... I will not tell you all my story ... but if now that I am 51 years old, I find myself a collection of 495 complete Intellivision boxes, regardless of the loose ones .. . Will it mean something you don't find?
My love for intellivision ... is not earthly, and being able to say it to you now ... is priceless.
I wanted to congratulate you for your AMICO ... I can't wait to have him ... and even if I won't play a lot ... he must be at my house, in my collection!
I unfortunately lost the founder ... I will definitely take the gray version vip ... it seems fantastic.
That Auto Racing ... makes me crazy how beautiful you did it ... like all the games I saw on You tube ... and I wanted to tell you this: THANK YOU!
P.S. Sorry my bad english ... I live in Italy.
Best wishes to all, for these bad events that are happening all over the world ... that will pass soon and that only a bad memory will remain.

I think I like the name "conhole" better than cornhole anyway...

I don't like the thought of saying cornhole out loud.

I always called it bean bag toss.

But the the Atari Creep noted that tossing your bean bag sounds bad too.

This game just can't catch a break in the naming department.

Maybe just call it salad toss....what? that means what????..

I give up

I don't know, I still prefer "bags" or "bean bag toss".

Trust me, "...tossing your bean bag" sounds worlds better than, "Hey, let's play Cornhole! Oh no, it's not what you think. It's a neat family game where you try to score points by tossing your sack into your friend's hole. Oh yeah, you also get points if you miss his hole and get it on the rim."

Thank you again for stopping by and I hope to see you around more!  You are exactly the type of person who can chime in from time to time about what your personal family structure is like and why you find Amico to be so attractive in your home.

Thanks!

Hi Tommy,

Thanks for the answer, although I guess I will have to wait until the “summer reveal” then. Regarding your question on why I find the Amico interesting. I am a typical millennial who grew up with Nintendo/Sega and PlayStation, but between work and family life with babies/small children, I have only played the occasional mobile game in the past 8 years, and only in the last year or so my daughter started to get interest in gaming (the usual route of pony games, roblox and Minecraft on iPad), so when I heard about this new thing it sparked a “dream” that we would have a console that the whole family (including my non-gaming wife) could play together an hour before dinner or before the kids bedtime. Anyway, thanks again and keep up the good work, the games so far looks extremely promising. 👍😁

Just wanted to post this for the record.

The guy I did an interview with last night posted his exchange with Pat.

Canadian Gamer 23 hours ago @Pat the NES Punk Fair enough but I asked him some real questions last night and he was by no way controlling the narrative. I think your Podcast brings up some valid points, some of which I point blank asked him about and to his credit he answered the questions. You can't shit on the guy's console and not at least give the guy the opportunity to form a rebuttal.

Pat the NES Punk 18 hours ago (edited) @Canadian Gamer "You can't shit on the guy's console and not at least give the guy the opportunity to form a rebuttal."  Sure I can. Tommy is no different from any other product or corporation. He's free to respond wherever he likes but is not entitled to use my platform to do so, especially when he has personally attacked Ian and me and made it personal in the past.

My response to Pat is this (because he reads here constantly):

Hahahahhaa!!  Nice dodge!  Lets get real kid... you guys are just too lazy and unprepared to handle an interview with me.  I'd waste you and every lame attempt at trying to make your idiotic points.  As if I need your negative platform to sell Amico.  Besides, you said we couldn't sell more than 5,000 units.  Pretty funny considering we sold 2,600 in 5 hours.  How's that prediction working out for ya?  Lets face it, you and your partner just don't want to look foolish in front of the people you continue to lie to.

Funny how a slew of YouTubers (a lot bigger than you) have chimed in as well to call you out on your laziness and biased lies.  Guess this is all par for the course with you guys.  Lying about me and the product just so you can make $10 more a week on your channel.  And you call others "shills".  Get over yourself.

Tell ya what chuckles... lets do a LIVE streamed interview on BOTH our YT channels and we'll get a bunch of other big YT's to stream it live as well... all at the same time and EVERYONE will donate ALL the monetized money to the Child's Play charity!

Gauntlet thrown fellas.  Now hurry on back to your safe space surrounded by your stuffed animals so you can sling your arrows instead of standing up for yourselves and facing me.

Cowards.

And using the touch screen on the phone to fire was kinda crappy cause your finger was always blocking a part of the screen!
