Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

Recommended Posts

I’ve never doubted the market for Amico, only the intial price point in terms of moving massive amounts of units into the marketplace. I’ve always liked $199 as the sweet spot.

With families being confined to homes more now, and in the foreseeable future, I think it stands to benefit IE. All my wife wants to do is find things to do at home and spend money on it 🤣 So price point may not be as important as families will see the value in an ecosystem that provides them fun for $249 right out of the box.

I don't know if some of you are asking yourself the same question as I do !

How will I hold the amico controller in my hands !

Let me explain what I mean.

Back in the 80's, when I was playing Atari 2600, Intellivision and Colecovision,

my right hand was the one controlling the thing on the screen, and my left hand was pushing buttons.

But when NES arrive in the industry, everything changed ! I had no choice to use my left hand !

Now, 35 years later, I really don't know which hand I will use !!

I will have a lot of testing to do I think ! lol  😃

Same! I don’t think I can use a D-pad with my right hand 😅 I’ll have to try it and see!

So wait... you're saying that folks in YouTube comments aren't reasonable?

That sounds crazy to me.

Clearly they all must be nicely adjusted human beings only looking to discuss the finer things of living a joyful and positive life.

No?

:D

It's obvious they are slaves to the goa'uld.

Tommy, here's a question that I don't think you've got before...
Will the Amico have any voice control like speaking into the controller and saying "Play Moon Patrol" or any integration with smart assistants such as Amazon Alexa and Google Home ("Alexa, play Moon Patrol on the Amico")?

Hahahaha!

There was an Xbox One player in the early days who's gamertag was "XboxTurnOff", and he would be in the battle rooms of Titanfall & Battlefield, getting in people's way. There's a YT video of it where some player says "Get out of my way, XboxTurnOff! Oh NOOOO!!!! Stop! Xbox Stop Listening! NOOOO!"

🤣🤪😈

This YouTuber was highly critical of me and Amico in his last video.  He doesn't seem like a hater at all... but just doesn't believe or understand the market we're going for exists in any way.

I look forward to speaking with him today.  It's going to be LIVE tonight at 5pm pacific / 8pm eastern.

Ok. Really.

Who's Karl?

Pretty much of the people I refer to in these examples are really some sort of relative or family friend (the names I just pick at random). I actually had a couple of them that would show up and generally nose around your house and question anything they didn't like. Same type that would question your parenting even though their kids were drug addicts or in juvi 🙄. I would be surprised if other people didn't have a few of these "special" people in their family. Maybe it is just the delights of small town living.

And you are always welcome to the family BBQ Blarneo but yeah I hope you like it 'well done' because I can't grill for crap.

Oh'. LOL. I thought it was an Amico hater I hadn't heard of.

I'll come to your BBQs, but not if Karl is there! 😖

Well that wasnt bad. Thought it could go south.  Didnt know the the guy from toploaded. He seemed a bit arrogant but over all I think this interview might have helped.  Good questions. Not as many haters on that one.

Good job Tommy

Good job Tommy.  I liked the interview.  Especially the part where you clarified the violence in video games.

What is the maximum SD card size the Amico will take?

We haven't tested it to a maximum size. The XDSC standard allows for cards up to 2TB, which I don't believe exist yet.

This is great information to know. Based on this, I could hook up an external hard drive for the games but would just need to buy a bigger SD card which should be able to hold all of my games for the system eventually.

Apparently, they do exist FYI. https://www.amazon.com/Micro-Memory-Card-Adapter-Slot/dp/B07SSDVGJ9/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=2tb+micro+sd+card&qid=1588044389&sr=8-5

How many times over would that hold the Amico library?
