Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

If this was a demo of the Amico I would ask you to refund my money on all 4 of my pre-orders immediately. A lot of those games are totally 100% garbage.

Disclaimer - No, I have not played any of these games yet.

And I never will.

Yeah ! No way I will play a game that are only in Japanese !  😉  lol

But Seriously, I would expect much more if it came from Intellivision Entertainment.

Most of the games, I would stop playing them after 7 minutes !

I can remember one of coaches yelling at me... "Goaler, get in your cage!"   LOL

I played Center and Goalie.  So even when I was in net, I would handle the puck a lot.

Being from central mass... Having a coach from Montreal had some funny moments. :)

I loved all of the intellivision sports games EXCEPT... NHL.  The game where the players should move the fasted and change direction on a dime....  Was like running on wet ice.

But I guess until Gretzy became a KING, no one in SOCAL had any idea about the game.

One example of a problem with Clubhouse 51 on Switch is with Texas Holdem.  Each player does require a switch console but the big problem is it's limited to only four player.  Then there's questions like are there options on how often blinds increase and by how much.  Do they reveal cards correctly.

I felt exactly the same way about Intellivision nhl hockey.  Your coach called you a goaler; that's old time hockey.  The only other time I heard that term was in an old Frank Selke Sr interview.

The players kept reminding me of headless turkeys or chickens running around on the ice but I did enjoy the game, slowness and all.

I actually liked that is was a little slower because it enabled you to have to perfectly time your tripping and gave you time to think about setting up stuff, etc.

That being said, I totally understand where people would like a faster paced game.  Will definitely need to have a different SPEED setting or something on the new game in hopes that everyone can be pleased (which I know is impossible).  :)

Most of the super talented players the Expos had and traded because they couldn't afford them ended up going to teams that won the World Series anyway!

I'm posting this video (and my response) here not to call out the YouTuber or to have folks here go to the video and leave negative comments, etc.

But I do want to highlight the fact that everything that everyone says in this thread is being read and dissected daily by people.  Even our clear "jokes" and humor are now trying to be used against us.  I also watched parts of a video the other day where they were trying to tear down @Michael Garvey and his videos.  HOW DARE ANYONE LIKE SOMETHING THAT IS DIFFERENT THAN THEY DO!!!   :)

As you've all heard me say a few times before, I personally think it's kinda cool that we interest folks this much that they spend time reading what we have to say.  And everyone is certainly entitled to their own opinion and in no way has anyone tried to "silence" these folks.  Maybe tried to "reason" or give facts to the incorrect things they say or assume... but whatever.  The more popular the system grows, the more and more we'll see these types of things.  So again... I see it as being a really positive sign.  And although they want folks to believe that the majority is "pushing back" on Amico... it's clear what the reality is.  So again... shouldn't really bother anyone.

Just wanted to point this out and show you my comments to this YouTuber as it does relate to the people in here.  Again... no reason to comment or get into discussions with the same 4 or 5 fake account dum dums that the comment section will attract.  Just a little warning to folks that anything said in here can and will be taken out of context and used against us to create false narratives.  @Dorkalicious is more than welcome to hold a respectful discussion with folks here and defend his position.  I know for a fact that a few people in here will more than likely agree with him as well (again, contrary to popular belief no one in here agrees with everything I say... but we can certainly be respectful to each other).  In my view, although I don't agree with about 75% of what he says... he's certainly been respectful in the way he expresses his thoughts (although lately he's been labeling the people in this forum unfairly as blind sheep).

Funny how the same 4 or 5 negative multiple fake account dum dums will leave responses to my YouTube comments in hopes to get me to respond (which I don't do anymore).  Interesting that they all know I post here, but don't comment here because those same folks have been banned from this thread for immaturity and not being able to follow simple forum rules set forth by AA.   :)

My response:

You're really good at cherry picking my comments and taking them out of context to fit a narrative. I could easily spend the next 10 - 15 minutes disputing everything you said and explaining in more detail to you what I meant with those statements. But it does neither of us any good. Once again you feel that by me answering questions as to what makes our system different this is somehow "insulting" and taking "pot shots" at other companies (which is interesting considering as I've said hundreds of times that they aren't even our competition). You seem to get offended when I bring up points as to why we're different and unique. I wonder why that is?

You literally just made up a false narrative by saying I'm "manipulating" people by using fear tactics to sell Amico and that I think people are dumb. Nice stretch. But as I've always said, you're certainly entitled to your own thoughts and opinions... even when they are as far fetched and out of whack as that one. See that... I can have my own opinion as well... and you clearly feel mine is far fetched. Isn't the first amendment awesome? :)

I never said players are able to "rape" other characters. It's kinda interesting that you say I leave things "vague". Um... no. It's called being careful with my words to ensure folks don't take them out of context. What have I learned? That is really doesn't matter... because folks (including you) will just take them out of context anyway. :) You keep mentioning the "rape" thing over and over and how those games aren't meant for kids and it's the parents responsibility. Yeah... no kidding. And no one has ever said the opposite. I have a record and history of DEFENDING the industry to make whatever it wants. I'm a huge supporter and sit on industry committees (including The ESA who runs the ESRB) to give thoughts on making sure ratings are upheld and parents are knowledgeable and responsible. Yet you keep going on and on about it implying that I think people are dumb and that I'm fear mongering. Once again, you've completely twisted facts, missed the point and created a false narrative. Those consoles have that stuff and we don't. CASE CLOSED. That's it. That was the only point. Get over it. Same with the Amico Mafia comment. If you can't see the humor and context... then you may want to think about not trying to be so "offended" all the time. Interesting that you seem to put down the folks in the AA thread just because they don't agree with you. Y'know... the same thing you are accusing them of doing to you. Ironic eh? :)

This will be the last time I comment on any of your videos as this seems to have become a pattern with you misusing my words to create a false narrative. That's fine. Have fun. As you know, you'll be getting lots of great material at Atari Age to keep ya busy. :) Your videos and comments now attract the same 4 or 5 fake account bullies that all call me names and pat themselves on the back while you make sure to highlight and like their comments. You'll all cry about Atari Age being an "echo chamber" for Amico. Once again... how ironic. :)

In closing... (and I'm quoting here)... you think that "Amico is getting a lot of push back by a lot of people". Maybe in your mind (and the mind of the small handful of folks who continue high-fiving you and commenting on your videos). But lucky for me... (once again)... your opinion when stacked against facts and the bigger picture of things is incorrect.

p.s. Just because I chose not to engage with you or waste my time on the obvious... doesn't mean I "hate" you or "dislike" you. :)

UPDATE

His response - Im sorry you cant handle someone calmly examining your own words and why there is push backk The mafia comment is a fun jab, Sorry you cant compute, I guess you better sick the mafia on me

My final response:  @Dorkalicious You continue to put words in my mouth. But then, if I try to explain that in any way you and a few others will say I can't take criticism. So again... no real point in having a further discussion about this when your only retort back to bringing up counter points to your argument is "you can't take criticism". Weak.

This was one of my points as well.  Does it have couch co-op possibilities?  Yes.

Is it the same EXPERIENCE and TYPE of Couch Co-op that Amico is offering.  No.

Simple.

:)

No the same at all. Only 2 players for bowling ? One of the few games that should be able to be played with more than 2 people when using one switch. Who’s the genius that thought of that ? 😮

Lately I've been finding that the approach you have mentioned is to not engage with these people to be rather effective.  The v guys channel I've taken a glance to see if there is an increase in comments and there isnt any. Going to those videos and saying something gives them validation. Not giving them attention  keeps them in their rather pointless microchamber. Which I find both sad and hilarious. Cant wait till the Amico is in all of our homes to enjoy and we can all look back laughing.  As the Amico crushes these naysayers

How embarassing.

A video that literally outlines why I personally think you have gotten negative criticism and feedback, you take personal and need to lash out

The video wasnt even directed at you, its a commentary on whats easy to observe

You literally say your console is safe while others are not, thats called using fear

You specifically bring up blood, guts and gore, porn, nudity, etc when this shit was happening in snes games.

Thats called trying to insight fear in people

Sorry that upsets you

If u look on reddit or most any youtube video there are critical comments on amico and the video looks into why that is

Why is that?

Simple examination of consumers are smarter then they have ever been

Ban me Tommy, prove me right please!

Just arrived! Looking forward to checking out the TurboGrafx 16 Mini this weekend!

If not for the original TurboGrafx system, I may never have been in the video game industry. It was the shirt I was wearing 30+ years ago when
Virgin Mastertronic producer Seth Mendelsohn walked in to Guitar Center and changed my life forever.

ABC called it the "T-shirt that changed the video game industry". I still have that shirt and cherish it to this day.

There ya go again bud.  Taking everything to the extreme and taking things out of context to fit your narrative.

You say I'm taking this personally.  No I'm not.  I'd say by your responses that you are the one taking this personally.  You declare in your videos that I "hate" you, that I don't like you, etc.  You're playing the victim and inserting all this drama into a back and forth conversation between two people who have a difference of opinion.  I'm allowed to give my opinion and have a voice just as much as you do.  But in your mind, if I disagree with something you say... then I "take it personally" and "can't take criticism".   Weak.

But what really says a lot about what you think you know about me, Amico, folks who like Amico, this forum, etc. is the phrase "Ban me Tommy, prove me right please!".

So no matter how many times you read and are personally told that I have ZERO control over who gets banned, etc. and that I WELCOME respectful folks to give their thoughts an opinions... your "go to" is that I'm going to get you banned.  Sorry bud.  Not the way it works here... yet you still continue to state that false narrative as well.  That this place is just an "echo chamber" of Amico fanboys all kissing my ass.

Would you prefer to discuss all of the "fear mongering" that you were guilty of in your video?  The list of complete mistruths and twisting of words is pretty deep and quite simple to deconstruct for someone interested in getting feedback.  But why should I bother when the only comeback to a difference of opinion is going to be that I can't take criticism and I take stuff personal.  Why would I waste my time?

It's interesting how you are continuing to engage with the 4 or 5 haters in the comments section of your video saying... "LOOK WHAT HE'S SAYING NOW ABOUT ME!"  You really don't think that doesn't come across as you not being able to take criticism?  You don't see any irony in any of that?  I bring it up as interesting and funny... not as an argument against information.

Moving on...

You state that "most" videos on youtube have critical comments.  But tell us... are they the majority?  Are they even CLOSE to being the majority?  Are those videos and comments stated by our target audience?  Of course they aren't.  But that doesn't fit your narrative does it?  The fact that the negative videos out there have more dislikes than likes and the same 4 fake accounts high fiving each other is pretty telling.  The fact that our bigger videos have over 100,000 views but typically less than 200 dislikes and around 2% negative comments doesn't fit your narrative.  So you won't bring that up.

I love your line that "simple examination of consumers are smarter then they have ever been".  I agree... and this is exactly why Amico scores so high in focus group testing, with smart investors, big retailers and why it is going to be such a huge success.  Trust me... our target audience won't be watching your opinion videos misrepresenting what I've said.

:)

It's SO hilarious that the same 4 or 5 hater folks with their multiple fake accounts and who have all been banned from AA from mods (not me) because they were immature and couldn't follow simple AA forum rules... immediately jumped on the post I left you.  And you call this place an "Echo Chamber"?

:D

I don't really have a favorite game yet.  I've only tried a few.  What to look for, I heard Castlevania: Rondo of Blood is very good.  There are 2 hidden games on the TG-16 mini.  One is Force Gear, the other is Twin Bee.  To unlock the hidden games, you have to highlight Salamander and enter select or something.  There's a YouTube video about it.
