E-mail [email protected] and tell him you'd like to see that added to the store.  Will be trying to get more stuff up in the store by August 4th.

Yes! That is my only requirement for a hoodie. Must have a zipper. Please tell them I want one too! 😎

Aug 4th, does Tommy announce that the ...

1. Amico will launch on 10-10-20 as planned.

2. Amico will launch Q4 2020.

3. Amico will launch Q1 2021.

4. Amico FE will launch 10-10-20, retail and VIP later.

5. Amico FE and VIP's launch 10-10-20, retail later.

6. None of the above.

At minimum, I'm hoping for 4. My gut feel is he will not use

the special event announcement to also announce that they

are going to completely miss the 10-10-20 date.

Getting some units out early is another way to create a Q4

buzz without spending any marketing dollars. In addition,

it gets the word out before the PS or Xbox hit the shelves.

Hoping for the best but complete support for any decision

they make.

Or if FCC, CE and other tests can not be finised in time and so the devices can not be sold to the public, then maybe some early machines will be given to selected press people for a preview on 10-10-20.

Little guessing game. What will the new launch date be ?

The logic would be that it will be probably in March, but I hope to have it a little earlier !

So I guess it will be 02-02-21. (Tuesday February 2nd, 2021)

Where art thou Tommy?

My guesses:

1)He's recovering from getting rescued from the forest.

2)He's practicing as he's going to jump over 35 Amicos on a bicycle dressed like Evel Knievel  to start the event.

3)Now that he's conquered the Grizzly suit. He's filming a parachute jump from the edge of space.

4)Editing the Video for the presentation. It will be half of what he wanted to give so that will lead to...

5)Releasing a Tommy Tallarico cut with more Superman in his black costume games and info to this forum. Maybe HBOmax like other movies.

What if the commercials for some of the games on Amico have Tommy in them?  Such as a Cloudy Mountain commercial showing Tommy inside a cave or something fighting off snakes and spiders and eventually doing battle with a dragon?  That would be awesome.  Or perhaps with the Night Stalker commercial, it has Tommy running through the maze shooting robots and trying to escape from the big spider?  There are so many possibilities.

A couple of not-so-offtopics while Tommy finishes preparing the event (4 days to go!):

- Update from the TLoU2 thread in one of the biggest forums in Spain: over the last 4 pages, 99% of the messages talk about the story and only 1% talk about the gameplay (some guy was complaining that there were too many options to improve weapons and stuff and that's not even necessary in the game). It's the same situation 1 month later, nothing has changed. (As usual, no Sony fans will come here and complain because we're "bashing Sony"... that will never change either).

- Thanks to whoever mentioned The Toys that Made Us. I watched the whole Masters of the Universe episode and I think I will now watch the 3 seasons.

Remember this guy? He did a video about why he was getting a refund for the FE. Couldn't afford a $300 limited edition console package but evidently he can afford a $200 metal box for a dreamcast.

I watched the first minutes of the video you mention and it feels like he was never interested on it to begin with. The reasons he gives is that he doesn't like the woodgrain design (!), he didn't grow up with Intellivision (!) and Tommy showing 2 games that are available for mobile on the trailer.

Reasons 1 and 2 were already there when he preordered and reason 3 one is not very solid, as the mobile games are only 2 games among dozens and even then, they will have lots of unique features and offline multiplayer options. It's like selling all your retro consoles because they have a special port of Doom with unique levels because it's the "same game" as in other plaforms. Also, the way he talks about mobile assuming everything is bad in that platform is pretty biased.

This has given me an idea for a question, by the way. Hey @Tommy Tallarico, what's the percentage of people who have cancelled the Founder Edition or VIP Edition of the console and asked for the $100 refund?

If you like that, you might also enjoy The Movies that Made Us. Some good dives into Ghostbusters, Die Hard, and a few other popular films from back in the day.

Your totally right but I feel that it is important to say that everyone has different likes & dislikes and for some a metal Dreamcast might be more valuable than an Amico. Also a lot of people are fence sitting because they want to actually experience that games & the system before plunking down the money - all totally legitimate. Also the Amico isn't for everyone (I think a lot of people, including maybe Mad Little Pixel, may be surprised that it is for them after all once they see it being played). However if it isn't - that is fine, all metal Dreamcasts are cool, the PS 5 will be awesome, full size arcade cabinets are great and so is the Amico. To each their own and we are all just looking to purchase some fun, in whatever form that takes for us.

@GrudgeQ I think it was Relicgamer the one who criticized that he bought other apparently useless things. I didn't mention that because it's clear form the start that the Amico is not for him: not looking for family games, not looking for Intellivision classics and he even hates the woodgrain "color". My point was that I don't think he liked the console that much, which, of course, is fine. I respect his tastes, but the reasons he gave for cancelling the console were there when he preordered, nothing changed. It's like I order an HD TV and then cancel it and then make a Youtube video about it saying how much I hate modern games... What's the point? ; )

Great post, you said a lot of spot on things.

I have a 21 year old son who is a major modern day gamer.

We talk video games all the time and share many different views on old and new games.

And we accept that we collect and like different merchandise in the video game world.

It does matter to us both to buy and keep our stuff in nice collecting shape but playing the games is very important to both of us too.

We also agree the industry is experiencing a major growth and boom for many reasons.

Which brings me back to one of Tommy's major points-there is enough room for many styles of gaming companies to thrive and coexist peacefully.

Game on everyone!!!👍

If I remember correctly the main reason he got a refund was due to money or lack of it. And as a content creator he has to make decisions based on that.

So think about that for a moment.

Your a content creator

You do reviews

So how much content for $200 will a metal box give you your channel?

Vs a console that has 6 games included as well as 30 at launch to purchase and make more content as well as new games being released every 2 weeks.

Even if it sucks and you want to sell it or you could do a give away when you reach a certain sub count.  It being a FE could help boost your subs

Just food for thought lol

Good distinction, that was super summarized into "your totally right". I just wanted to add that even though that was kind of silly to make a video about that we shouldn't overlook the fact that people can change their minds, have different opinions and so on. Just expanding on beyond what you said basically.

Yes, I believe that was one of his reasons.  But, he did go on to state further that based on what he had seen he just wasn't into the games that would be coming out on the console.  That plus some other reasons lead to him asking for a refund.  No reason to bash the guy for choosing to go in a different direction as his channel is being geared to retro stuff and modern ways to play things, like the Dreamcast shell he recently covered.  Now, its true he could have stuck with the pre-order and waited until it arrived in order to cover it and do the content.  But, hey, you pays your money and takes your pick.  He just choose to put his money toward something else.  Nothing really wrong with that imo.

People can do what they want with their money and i don’t think we need to start debating something like this.  To each is own my friends

early release for founders or vip supporters:  I don’t think this has any chance of happening. Good Marketing is managing build up of expectations (Launch date, ads), positive wave (press reviews) and providing product. I don’t think in the history of consoles that are trying to sell millions has there ever been a release where there are only a few thousands total sales for the first few months (Assuming the delay is from Oct to feb/mar 2022). If they do that, what happens is you then get a lot of positive comments on launch, then it Simmers down and there’s a dry spell.  You can’t launch with dry spells Unless you have a huge fan base and the dry spell leads to feeding frenzies.  We aren’t talking about limited launch Units here, we are talking about a minuscule drop In the bucket launch that can even lead to bad press.  Ie: what if a few consoles are defective, what if the free press (the FE/VIP owners) are actually very poor communicators and spread the wrong message?  that too easily can become the story And then affect your real launch

There’s also the issue of the big chains. Assuming Walmart, Amazon etc will be carrying Amico, they will not accept a situation where they don’t have stock day one, they do not play second fiddle to 10,000 others, at least not outside the first week or two

you only get one launch so you need to do it right.  The only way the limited launch works is if the delay is a matter of 1 week or 2 at the most, so that it can be part of the press tour or something.  And I really doubt that.  As an FE supporter I hope I am wrong

personally I always tied this to my retirement and that is now confirmed to be Nov 27th so I hope the launch is just pushed back a month. If you launch at mid November you still get the Christmas season so it could work

ps I’m mostly talking out of my ass here but I think that’s kind of how the launch playbook is written and it’s written that war for a reason

Maybe the Founder's Edition Amico given away on August 4th is Mad Little Pixels. :)

I've watched Mad Little Pixel for a long time. He seems like a good dude. Just sounded to me like he needed that $100 back.
