Also, again, not something that most people who will buy this thing will care about, but since you're talking about the internals, I'd like to have some more detailed specs for both console and controller since the only thing that we have right now is

 

 

Also the results of matte vs glossy for woodgrain. Perhaps also a demonstration of the interactive lighting and how some of the existing games use it. Also, what ever happened to the controller you exploded? Did that get sent out already?

This first hardware one is more about the "design" and how it's made.  Thought it would be cool to show folks all the "inner workings" and the why and how they were chosen.  This is focused on the hardware as opposed to showing games.  That will be our next video after this one (i.e. showing all the unique ways the controller interacts with games and how/why, etc.).

In regards to the Vintage Woodgrain finish, although "matte" was a leader during the live stream (and comments), overwhelmingly the "gloss" won hands down when people saw it in person.  The gloss really does make it look incredible and high end.

I was going to congratulate you on the now "award winning" Amico,  and realize that I didn't hit Submit yet on this topic.. Congrats!!!! Now, back to the post:

These are not really questions, I'd like for the video to touch on some of the below items:

Of course go through the history of the design of the controller. The benefits of going capacitive touch vs resistive. I know most of us know. But I'm assuming that this will also be for people that have not followed the product like us. Maybe talk about the choice of moving the buttons from their original locations on the controller like the early mock ups had.  If there happens to be that one controller design that just made you laugh.. There always seems to be one design that, looking back is a head scratcher.

Show the controller in action. Show the overlays on the screen. (OR whatever they will be called). Videolays? V-Lays ? Show why you chose this design vs a standard controller we've been using for 20+ years. 

Give the specs. This many pieces go into the controller. This is not just plastic. A little of the other testing that has been performed. Not just  your hands on approach. Show the guts.. (Just not by cooking it over a fire). I'd love to see one of those exploding view of with all the parts going into place.

While all the numbers and specs are cool. We will eat all that up. Finish the video off with a segment of First time users.

Something like - This is Fred. He's not a gamer.  Fred does not own a game system. This is Penny. She is a mother of 2. She has a Switch. Hand them a controller. Cornhole is booted up. If possible, do not cut,  just hand the controller and show how long it takes to get to the first toss. Show them going through the learning stages. Cut to them saying that it only took a minute or two to get it.  Then a montage of people playing different games. Things that we've seen. Toss in one or two that we haven't just for us geeks to obsess over.  All the while, you can see them enjoying themselves. At the end of the video. OR at the beginning. In big letters: THESE ARE NOT ACTORS. These are real people trying the Amico for the first time.

So this was too incredible not to add to this thread.  The first time I heard of Cornhole was when Tommy was talking about it.  So my home town is doing a Cornhole tournament as part of our fall festival this year which is happening on....10/10/2020 my brain exploded when I saw that

The keyboard component loaded software from tape in 8k chunks as needed.  It could simultaneously execute code from one part of ram while loading more code to another part of ram.

Regarding the hardware overview video; I'd like to know about that spring in the event video.  It looked a lot the spring from an intellivision controller.  How does the amico disc close the circuit when pressed.  Is it made of conductive material.  Is there any conductive material on the disc or buttons that wears off with use.

Hahahha!  Perfect!

What else is crazy is that he actually works for one of the big video game hardware manufacturers as well!

The guy in the video (the one who won the controller) isn't actually the guy who did the song.  He just did the video.

The song was from the Intellivision album entitled "Intellivision in Hi-Fi" that Intellivision Productions put out in 2002.

299$ is an attractive price, but only enough storage to hold just a few AAA titles (512GB, minus the formatting and operating system requirements) is not going to impress a lot of people I am thinking. Especially if additional storage costs close to what the console itself costs (North of 200$ seems to be floating around a lot).

You could use a slower and cheaper drive for simple storage, but swapping around 80+gig game files constantly is certainly at minimum a continual inconvenience, and defeats the main purpose of having a faster system drive in my opinion.

I expect more then a few buyers are going to feel the budget model is not such a great deal after a bit of actual use.
