MrBeefy #926 Posted February 16, 2020 Good Sunday morning everyone. Woke up to this playing on the radio and now I can't get it out of my head. You're welcome to share in my misery. May your Sunday be bacon filled and I hope everyone gave that special someone a gift they loved. 1

It will be fine for some games, others might need buttons remapped which is doable with emulation, others will be tough with an amico controller. I'm curious as well, why do you have these thoughts? digdugnate #929 Posted February 16, 2020 i'm curious to see feedback once the console is released on the controllers themselves. as a rule, i really dislike how mobile games control with touchscreen controls so am curious how this will be different than 'inserttitlehere' on 'insertmobiledevicehere'.

Tommy's going to show... something... about the Amico controller at E3. Something revolutionary, I guess. Something to do with the screen. I'm guessing that it's going to have something to do with simulating the bumps on the keypad on the original controller. Maybe some sort of force feedback (what kids these days call rumble) or something like that to indicate when you are actually over one of the "buttons" on the original controller. Edit: YAY MORE BACON! Also, I don't have to give anything on Valentine's Day here. The girls give the guys stuff, and then we are expected to pay it back with at least triple the value on White Day on March 14th. Good thing I'm single so I can waste more money on old video games! I hate how mobile controls too. But for the most part love the DS and 3DS games. There are times I think control is clunky on those. Zelda Phantom Hourglass can sometimes swipe/stab when you don't want it to or want to roll.

Or any other system, for that matter. Good thing I have a CRT. Lots of people just plug their intellivision straight in to their HD television RF input. Those that emulate use intellivision or intellivision flashback controllers through usb. Amico might take usb controllers. Lots of intellivision 8-way and 4-way games can be played with any controller. 6 minutes ago, digdugnate said: i'm curious to see feedback once the console is released on the controllers themselves. as a rule, i really dislike how mobile games control with touchscreen controls so am curious how this will be different than 'inserttitlehere' on 'insertmobiledevicehere'. You know the amico controller has a physical thumb-pad control. Edited February 16, 2020 by mr_me 1

Probably the only game I had that I used that for was Pokemon Sun/Ultra Sun.

Just a PC monitor and a CRT. I think Tommy said Amico can use other controllers somewhere in the QA thread.

I was guessing something like that when Tommy mentioned that they would be revealing something revolutionary about the controller at E3. I was thinking that maybe the touch pad wasn't flat and more like the original controller with slight bumps or bubbles on the touch pad. mr_me #940 Posted February 16, 2020 All someone has to do is create a silicone overlay for the touchscreen, duplicating the tactile feel of the original controller. That still leaves the awkward location of the side/shoulder buttons for games that use two action buttons.
m-crew #941 Posted February 16, 2020 Maybe we should rename this thread the Bacon Thread Staring " ", Seems like that's what this thread is all about.. It's almost getting like the Taco Thread. How about Starting at Bacon Taco Thread... lol Oh let's get back on track, I really can't wait to try the classic games with the new Amico controller , I think we will be shattering the HSC records when that happens... None of the controllers I could tell had anything but a flat screen from what I could see.

mr_me #946 Posted February 16, 2020 (edited) You should always disclose the use of emulation or alternate controllers in competition. I used the gravis to cross-map the right/left controls; like a dual action intellivision controller. The amico controller can be cross-mapped too. So I can't say what it would do for my scores. I'm sure a most people don't disclose that information in competitions.. but that's my opinion.. lol
m-crew #948 Posted February 16, 2020 @mr-me BTW great score on Lock n Chase, hopefully I have time to play a few more games today.

mr_me #950 Posted February 16, 2020 (edited) Emulation can be a disadvantage. I had missed collisions with Vectron and switched to real hardware for my best scores. My locknchase score was done in mame with an intellivision controller. I might have to switch to real hardware to beat it.
