If you haven't played it, find Galaga '88. It's the best.

Galaga '88 is on the Turbo Grafx 16 mini which I own.  It's also on the Namco Museum from 2017 for Switch.  I have that collection on my Switch.  But haven't played the game yet.  I have played the original though.

Forgot to mention the Namco Museum also has regular Galaga as well.  There's a Bandai Namco collection on Switch that has Gaplus.  I would like to one day try Gaplus out.

Tommy,

What about a Highlander game on Amico?  It doesn't have to be violent.  It could be a cartoonish fighting 1 on 1 style game.

It would be neat to have KC Munchkin on Amico.  Wouldn't that be something?

Tommy,

What about the Hill Climb racing game series for Amico?

Cool.  I've seen all the Iron Eagle films.  They're good.  Maybe an Iron Eagle game could be on Amico.

Here is a rare one but very fun one !

A special for Intellivision Master to check out!

Thanks for sharing.  I watch some of the video.  From what I saw, it looks great.  I like the sound effects, they're are really neat.  I never heard of this game before.  This one definitely needs to be on Amico.  Make it happen Tommy.

Intellivision Master ...   Sorry to interrupt... 🤔

Don't forget, Tommy allowed you one proposition per day ! 😁

If not, I fear I will become crazy before having a chance playing Amico ! 🤪  lol

The costs of gaming keeps going up and up. Between Battle passes. Season Passes. Having to pay for the online service JUST to play online games. Lets not forget new "episodes" of a game. The extra $10.00 for some of the games on the newest generation. It's nostalgic to buy a game. Then get the entire game. (I assume if any bug fixes need to happen it will be seamless). The only 40GIG day one patch would be DAY ONE when you replace your SD card with something larger.

Speaking of creeping costs, my son has spent over $200.00 on Fortnite over the last year plus. Luckily, apart from a few hiccups, it's all been on his money.

I keep seeing things like this, or along the lines that gaming is a very expensive hobby. Maybe I'm not doing it right, because for me games have never been cheaper. I think my advantage is that I don't need to buy big, expensive games when they first release. I'm ok with waiting a few years when they're put on sale for a ridiculously cheap price, or even given away for free as a perk in PS+. I think my mentality for this goes back to when I was a broke college student and could only afford games that cost $20 or less. Looking at the rack of games, I didn't know what was new or a few years old. I looked to see if my PC could play it, and discovered a lot of gems on my thrifty budget.

I can't tell you the last time I paid $60 or more for a game. And I don't feel like I've been left out of anything. I don't play online, so season passes or things like that don't mean a lot to me. My daughter plays Fortnite occasionally with her friends, and I think to date she has spent a total of $10 over the last few years. In a lot of ways, gaming has never been cheaper.

So if I'm so frugal with my gaming dollars, why did I pre-order two Amicos? Tommy always talks about "value and trust." I see a lot of value in Amico. Intellivision has been very open about what you're getting for your money, and I personally think that what you get for the money is a great deal. I also know the team behind it, and I trust them. I'm not sure they'll get everything right at launch, but as open as the team has been about its development, I have high confidence that it will be great at launch... and even better in the future.

Same.  I haven't spent $60 on a game in quite a while.  Some games cost too much and aren't even worth it.  New gen games are $70.  The sad thing is that now a days when you buy a modern game, you're just getting part of the game while the rest downloads a 1 million GB update in order to actually play it.  Lol.  It's crazy.  For me I only do single player games.  I've always liked the single player experience.  As long as the game is fun & has an interesting story, I'm all for it.  For example the original F.E.A.R. was great.  Of course there are some single player games I don't care about such as Death Stranding.  It had a unique story but I couldn't get into the game.  Basically a walking simulator.  Lol.  I'm just picky about which games to try out and which ones to skip.  Every once in a while you find a hidden gem and get surprised.  I like when that happens.  Which isn't often.

I never pay full price for games anymore.

On an interesting note, I did pre-ordered Cyberpunk 2077 on the PS4.  What a disgrace. The game is completely unplayable, event after the first (or many) 17 gig patch.

I asked for a refund.

That's another problem with today's games.  Too many games released with problems out of the gate

It's fine... They knew the game was broken, which is why they didn't let anyone play it before it launched. They thanked the 8 million people who bought it, and then issued an apology saying they knew it was crap and you shouldn't have bought it. But don't worry, hopefully by February it will be playable.

What was that I was saying about TRUST and value??

Gaming has always been expensive.  It's just where the $$$$ is spent.  A lot of mobile games rely on the microtransactions to make their money. We've accepted when a game comes out and you have to wait to play it as it has to download a Blu-Rays worth of content. And until recently loot boxes. I've collected games a good portion of my life and have been fortunate enough to come along some great deals due to waiting.

I'm right there with you. As I've gotten older, I notice that it doesn't matter if I get most of the latest games on Day one. Especially when they are $60+. On the other hand, $10 (Digital) and $20 physical, makes me real happy. Especially when each physical game will be a bit different. I'm sure even the packaging will be awesome.   The Cost per hour for that $200.00 on Fortnite is worth it. as he has spent days on it.  However, I know that I will beat it with just the single player experience on the Amico. Right now, the video game giants are not marketing to us. They are marketing to the kids who need to have everything now. (Hmmm another thing Willy Wonka got right). Another Plug for a Chocolate Factory adventure game.

I'm right there with you and being cheap - I waited to buy Bioshock remastered until Black Friday and  $15.00 at Walmart. However, I am a proud Pre-ordered almost owner of an Amico. VIP Order 18xx.  Day one purchases will be  returning to my vocabulary and wallet.

So true.  Sorry about that.  I keep getting carried away.  Lol.  Trying to make my quota for the end of the year.  Lol.  I don't want you to go crazy though.  I wish Amico was already here.

6-year-old racked up over $16K on his mom's credit card

Buy an Amico and save at least $15,750. How’s that for value!

Well I finally played Galaga '88 in the Namco Museum collection.  It's good, I like it.

It's nice that you can choose if you want a single or double ship to start with.  Also, this game allows for a triple ship which is very cool.  Now how about a quadruple ship?  Lol.  Maybe if Galaga comes to Amico, there could be a 4 ship option.

I kinda like the idea that your friends can have individual ships and everyone competes for the highest score or combined to go as far as possible. Then again, someone could be the master bug and control how they attack. I love games that can be both cooperative and competitive. Imagine that. Galaga. So many ways to play. Wouldn't That Be Something?(TM)

Star Jacker by Sega [1983] had a unique four-ship configuration. Essentially you begin the game with all of your "lives" (ships) active at once, and you try to keep them all alive to keep your firepower at the maximum. But rather than being arranged in a horizontal formation like in Galaga, they are flying in a vertical formation with a each trailing ship following your moves with a slight delay. So by moving side to side you spread out your shots. It's a pretty cool mechanic that I haven't seen in other games.

If you don’t move or shot in the bonus stages, you get a special bonus score. 👍😀

Interesting.  Never heard of this game before.  I like the name.  Maybe it'll come to Amico.  Yeah, that is a unique mechanic for sure.

Tommy, I know most of Amico games will be easy to learn, but will we have booklets with physical games ?

That's something that I am missing these days with video gaming ! Some screen shot, characters illustrations, drawings, etc.

That would be so cool.

A game like Cloudy Mountain should have one for sure. 😀

This is a shooter but also an educational game too.  It would be a good one for Amico.

For The Voice version, It can also be a GREAT adult game if you follow my "drink a shot for every time you enter the text wrong" approach to playing a mostly kids game but as an adult.  Great fun I had playing this game!

LOL
