The Amico library is currently overweighted with retro game titles.

As far as the public knows.

(Because those are the only folks paying attention at this point).

I seem to recall that Tommy had mentioned at one time that retro titles was only going to be part of what the Amico offered. I think he is just 'playing to the crowd' as they say, and sharing a lot of the retro titles here because that is what gets the most interest from this particular forum group.

I imagine on release we will see a lot more edutainment, party and family-friendly games that did not get much mention here.

Smart dude!

Hoping there will be a "Holiday" themed game one day for Amico.. one that we all can crack out and play during the holidays.
We of course will have some winter games that I suppose can be enjoyed too but would like to see some Christmas Sparkle too!
Say during the month of December, snowmen pop up on the slopes in Skiing and throw snowballs at you.. or throw their own arms made of sticks or their noses of carrots if they want. haha.
I mean getting killed off by a carrot... priceless!
Stuff like that. Add some holiday sparkle in some games.

Absolutely!!

Big on my "list".

I was looking "The Game Awards" tonight !

Then, I visualize myself next year, in december 2021.

There is one game from Amico that could steal the show !

World Premiere : Eartworm Jim ! Only for Amico !

After the footage, Tommy with a two minutes explaining what's Amico.

Then, the next day, a lots of hardcore gamers buying an Amico, because Eartworm Jim is coming the following week !

Wouldn't that be something ? 😃

I like the way you think!

:)

I'm good friends with Geoff (me & Vic gave him his first job on TV!) but the Game Awards isn't our initial demographic.  Might do something special with EWJ.  That would be the game to do it with for sure.  And... to have the whole team there together on stage.  That would be pretty cool and something me & Geoff have spoken about in the past.

Eeeeeeek, thank you soo much @Tommy Tallarico for answering my questions, that made me scream like child. I  have some more questions for you if you don't care to answer them.
1. I know you said you weren't looking for among us on the amico(I'm not a huge fan but I feel like it would be perfect for my family) at this moment but is it still possible it will come out at all
2.i know your bringing games from the original intellivision, Atari and arcade but how many more consoles will you get games from (for example will you get games from the cleco or sega sg 1000)

3.do you plan to reimagine buzz bomber cus that was my favorite intellovision game from the original system(I'm 19 so how weird is it I rather play that then something eles).
4.is it possible for the amico to replicate something like mode 7 from the super Nintendo(I would love to vreate a f-zero style kart racer for the amico, speeking of...)
5. how would someone go about making games for the amico and Is there anything you recommend new developers do?
again thank you so much tommy for answering my questions, your practically my hero with the amico. I hope you have a nice day or night

Either the number of games available at launch would have to increase or the number of retro titles said to be available at launch would have to decrease.  It's okay if it's heavy on retro titles to start.  That can change going forward and there's no reason everyone can't enjoy these games.

There are a few different approaches to golf.  PGA style and MINI style.   :)

I am actually looking forward to mini golf over pro style (probably in the minority on that). Would love to see it even wackier than real life with the other players being able to mess with you by using their touch screens to reverse the spin of the windmill or send a fart sound to your controller just as you swing. Maybe hitting a trap/bonus zone turns your putter into a cumbersome caveman club or gives your putter laser sights for super accuracy. Basically make it the wackiest game of golf around.

I think holiday themed games would be ideal for this console.  It's something you don't see much of on the other consoles.  I know I would love to play Christmas, Halloween, and maybe even Thanksgiving themed games with my family. I feel like we are still waiting for the first truly great holiday game.  People are still playing Christmas Nights, which is essentially a demo!  Hmm, maybe Sega could make a full game out of it for Amico. ;)

Talk to ya soon!!

Tommy, you might want to check your phone service. It now dials to a telemarketing company. "Is someone in your household 50 years of age or older? If so, press 1."  Maybe I'll try later in the day when you're at your desk.  😆

I’m assuming the console would have to be finalized by the end of the year to make the April launch date. I am getting the feeling the April Launch date won’t happen. I’m not trying to be negative and  I hope I’m wrong. Thoughts ?

I will respectfully disagree with you on this one.  Hockey, still to this day is played like crazy around the office and my house.  Me & @nurmix have absolutely EPIC battles... mostly with me kicking his ass as I know all the face-off tricks.  :)

For me it's Baseball first, Hockey 2nd.  Football & Basketball don't get much play these days.  Golf, not so much either.  Hockey is so much fun... and that TRIP sound!!   Hahahhaa!

All the the sports network cartridges are really good.  But intellivision nhl hockey plays more like timbits hockey than nhl.

Never say never I suppose.  It's just not something we are currently pursuing because it's already on so many different platforms.  We want to initially establish ourselves as a very unique experience with unique controls, unique eco-system, etc.

We would welcome anything that is great.  Quite frankly, there aren't any Colecovision titles that they actually own.  Everything popular on their system was pretty much a licensed game.  But we have spoken to them about a possible idea and collaboration on something.

Yeah.  We think that would be a good one.  It would be one of the lower priced games, but something we've talked about as eventually putting out at some point.

Maybe we call it Buzz Bomber:  Murder Hornets edition.

We have a sign up area on our CONTACTS page on our website for interested developers.  Best would be to submit an e-mail and give public examples of your work if possible.

Here's the link:  https://www.intellivisionamico.com/contact

Make sure to sign up to our Mailing List as well!

I wasn't referring to launch... I just meant in general... say a year or so down the road.  It will start to even out or lean towards different segments depending on what the "market" and our consumers call for.  Launch titles will lean a bit on retro as we know they will be the easiest (and least expensive from an advertising/marketing standpoint) to get to.  Everything we do is heavily planned.  But with COVID it makes it more difficult because things, timelines, etc. are in constant flux at this point.  Literally from week to week.

We're not going to start spending big marketing money until we have enough stock on store shelves to warrant it.  Our partnership ship is already over 100 million people right out of the gate... and growing!

:)

Remember that when folks like Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo are having MASSIVE supply issues... that of course negatively affects us as well.  And we a lot less "pull", "established reach", "money to lose" than they do.  We need to be very smart with our money and where/how/when it is spent.  We are totally okay to walk before we run.  This is a 7 - 10 year game for us.

That's fine.  Looking forward to the video.

UI video will be a live stream.

We were scheduled to do it this week in the office (the official office internet & servers were just completed and installed/finalized last week)... then the California lockdown started on Monday making it against the law to assemble in our new building.

We were also thinking of getting @Starpaddler and his AWARD WINNING wife to come down between now and Christmas (and to video them seeing and playing the machine for the first time, etc.).

Some may cry foul and try to say I'm stalling.  For those folks... get your head out of your asses and read the news.

:)

We've shown a working machine with controllers publicly since the beginning of 2020.  We've shown an early version of our UI over a year and a half ago.  Ask John Riggs, Metal Jesus, Smash JT, Michael Pachter and oh yeah... Walmart, Gamestop, Koch media, Best Buy, Amazon, Argos, Media Mrkt, Saturn, EB Games, etc.  Just wondering if anyone out there thinks we didn't show the machine working over a year ago when we took our first 100,000 purchase orders without breaking a sweat.  Wondering if people out there think we were able to secure a $150 MILLION manufacturing line of credit with smoke & mirrors.  Please.  To those folks, spare us the drama and stupidity at this point.

E3 - June, 2019 was to SHOW buyers the system behind closed doors for the first time.  We knocked it out of the park and achieved every goal we set out to.  We've hired at least 30+ new people since then.  Funny that people would think we're going backwards over a year a half.

We decide when we show things based on when it's best for US.... not some angry obsessed handful of hater trolls demanding that we show certain things or else the whole thing is a scam.  Besides, we already know they will all be first in line to buy Amico so they can complain about it some more.

:D

I think for our family audience, you aren't in the minority at all.  When we ask families which one they would most likely play... it's always mini-golf over regular golf.  Those stats go down when the age demographic is raised.  Especially over 60+.

The idea of people being able to affect the spin of the windmill, etc. is EXACTLY the type of unique and simple gameplay that makes us so different (especially with our controllers).

So let me just give a big...

WOULDN'T THAT BE SOMETHING?

😋
