Hi Tommy,
*re: Breakout Amico Demo for PC*
I PM'd you a few days ago, about this mostly, but I guess your mailbox gets a ton of messages. 😕 🤯
If it's possible to share a new link, or PM me back, that would be great. If you already did, sorry, I didn't find it yet.
It's amazing you can reply at all with so much interaction! :-o
Cheers, Richard / JustClaws.

I loved the idea of Super Sprint, there was something about those tiny cars and how clean the whole game looked that I really found appealing.

it was fun but at least at my arcade/bowling alley that games steering wheels were so loose, you would have to spin the damn thing 10 times to make a quick turn, I think they made them a little loosey goosey on purpose?  not sure.  it was worse then driving the old manual steering cars.

As I've always said... I'm hoping Atari does well and makes it to retail shelves so we can finally beat them after 40 years of dominance.  Hahhaha!   :)

If you think about it, we've already sold more Amico's than Atari VCS's and they started a year ahead of us, have a MUCH bigger name, have bigger and more well known licenses, are a publicly traded company and had over $3M to start the project with.  All massive advantages over Intellivision. I want them to do well... but I also want us to do better.

:)

By looking at it...you have a very good chance.

I'm honestly surprised and disappointed to be honest.  I was hoping it would be better than what has been release thus far.  Not to say it won't get better, I hope it does because I want one ..but this is a unit I can see myself holding back on until it's better than this video offers.

The angry video game nerd needs the new vcs to review.

I don't think Atari has the balls to do that.  Wow would that be entertaining.

Kinda crazy that Sony pulled the entire game from the PS store.
QZVqP1k.gif.4a91307f58086fbb37f9f34762b04a29.gif

As these modern next gen games get bigger and more and more complicated... it becomes more expensive and time consuming to produce.

One of the main reasons I love the approach we're taking at Intellivision.  MUCH more manageable... especially for a smaller company.

I've always found it funny that in America we lose our minds over nudity, yet today's games are getting closer and closer to violence porn.  Oh well.

My problem with Cyberpunk 2077 on the PS4 is that is was literally unplayable. I got the refund.  I

Another reason, to echo Tommy here, as to why I just LOVE the Amico approach.

And I'm surprised you never heard of the Earth Defense Force series.  There actually IS a horizontal scrolling shoot'em up series that is not the same thing. I think that was on the arcade and the SNES.

E.D.F. is a third person shoot'em that is a throwback to the Ed Wood quality 1950's cheese sci-fi movies.  The plot is simple : the Earth is invaded by giant ants, spiders, and robots and you and computer controlled member of the Earth Defense Force just run around and stop them.  It's hilarious.  Over the years, this simple gameplay concept has stayed the same and they add new bugs, and it has a reputation for cheesy dialog.  They totally poke fun of themselves, like the military never actually calls the bugs for what they really are. They come up with different names. But, the joy is seeing an army of giant ants charge you as you gun them down and watch them blast all apart and fly across the screen just never gets old.  Totally check it out.  What keeps it great is how they just chop up the gameplay into a ton of missions, so it never overstays it welcome.

That's an excellent idea. We've been talking about killing people Vs killing robots, but what about destroying cars?

Tommy, the Amico must have some Destruction Derby style game and another one inspired by Twisted Metal. Violence against cars doesn't count, right?

Good luck trying to add all that action into a single screen, though.

Tommy,

Are you in contact with big Youtubers like Pewdiepie and Markiplier by the way? A lot of kids watch these big Youtubers for video game stuff so having them on board would be some of the best exposure the Amico could get. Kids are often the driving force behind games console purchases for families of course. Either that or the parents having nostalgia for the console manufacturer.

I think the big strategy is aiming for the parents to buy for the family due to the S.A.F.E. model. I think kids will naturally gravitate to the heavily marketed big 3.

Badlands by Atari Games is single-screen car combat, built on the Super Sprint engine.

Tommy,

Another random question...

Say I have 2 amicos in the house (one in game room and one in living room). Would I be able to juggle a game purchased between the 2?

The scenario is I would have an Amico in living room primarily to play socially, but when someone is watching a movie in the living room and I wanna play solo but don't wanna move the system I would take the controller from the living room system (where I purchased the games), to the game room system?

Sorry if you answered this before I just keep eyeing the purple one and wanna justify a second LOL

I still play this one every once in awhile!

One of the first arcade games I remember playing at our local arcade called the Dream Machine!

Such great memories!!

Any of you have pics of some of the arcades you grew up in?  I found this one online.

I used to go to the Dream Machine in Worcester!

As well as Playoff Arcade and a few others.

Plus the Zayre store had a few games on rotation.  Loved Monaco GP 1979-ish.  Moon Patrol and Defender were great while Mom was shopping!  LOL  Miss you Mom ❤️

Yes you can. Your game purchase info is on  the consoles controller rfid. So you can tap on the other console and download the game to play. Once you leave that console the games locked on til you return or you delete it.

Just can be played on one  console at a time.  So if you want 2 consoles or more in house , you are good to go buy them.

Sorry, I’m a little behind in my reading, but WOW that looks familiar!  Dream Machine must have been a chain because there was one in the South Hills Mall in Poughkeepsie, NY that I used to go to.  Great Memories!  I remember they used to run a promotion at report card time where they would give out free tokens for every A on your report card!  Unfortunately that mall was knocked down to make way for a strip mall, which seems to be the thing these days, rather than the nice indoor ones of yesteryear!

I would frequent Space Port at the Newburgh Mall in Newburgh, NY since it was closer to my house and I had a job at Sears (automotive dept.) which was in that mall.  I can’t seem to find any pictures of it in the 5 mins I looked online! I actually met my wife at that Sears, we were coworkers.  I was up front selling tires, shocks, batteries, etc. and she was a service writer in the back setting up the installs.  We still make a great team to this day!  That mall is still kicking and Sears is still there, one of the few left in the area.

I guess my hope if that it will be a smoother trade from system to system than the Nintendo Switch to Switch lite.  For that I had all my games on the main Switch and I was hoping to play the Lite on the road, make progress on the games, and then resume on from the normal Switch when home.  There were a lot of incompatibilities due to anti-piracy so I basically shelved the Switch lite and only play the original.  I'm sure the Amico will flow a lot better than that.  My follow-up though would be this:

If I had one system in living room with a non-pack-in game, brought one of those controllers to the gaming room system, tapped the system, started playing that controller and one of the gaming room controllers, then could someone in the living room still play something else like cornhole single-player with the remaining controller?  In a way since the games are so affordable it may make more sense to just buy the games on both systems with different accounts?

Preach brother!  This is my biggest excitement.  It doesn't matter really with the graphics and how many A's the title's grade is - just "can multiple people in the same room sit down and have some fun... if only for 30 min?".  Couch co-op and LAN parties always seemed so special to me and now they are pretty much annihilated.  One example is back in the early 00's I met up with some co-workers at one apartment, we all brought our gaming pc's, and played the 'storm the beach' multiplayer DEMO of Return to Castle Wolfenstein.  It was amazing and free!  I haven't brought any pc anywhere in 15 years except for moving to a new place?  Where did that go?

Also in my college years Halo on original X-box came out and I had co-workers and friends from various jobs (post and present), hosted different Halo parties at their 2-bedroom apartments to play a couple of linked x-boxes (mostly Blood gulch level with capture the flag).  That was such a great experience and definitely brought people together that otherwise would never have.

The sad truth about Halo now is that since the Master Chief collection came out it is the only version that people play (it is very nice), but it is mostly played on PC.  I had an extra PC, set it up in the living connected to the TV, bought an extra Xbox One wireless controller to sync to the PC, just to find out they REMOVED split-screen couch co-op!  I just assumed it would be there and totally wasn't.  Co-op is available online, but nobody wants to play with me haha.  I guess that is just something lost in time.

Cornholes a pack in  pack in games will work no matter what.  Im sure if multiple people  are aying a gane in house you might want to buy multiple for certain games  as they wont be expensive.
