I made some quick research and it looks like the flag represents the Japanese army since many centuries ago, but is considered offensive in China and South Korea. South Korea was under Japan's control and considers the flag a symbol of Japan's imperialism.

Fair enough. I was actually looking for an 80s style muscle T that had a rising sun and Japanese hieroglyphics on them, like what was popular when MTV just got started. Could only find that one.

I wonder if I can turn off the fake NTSC scan lines.

I'd like to leave some things back in the 80s aside from parachute pants, big hair and New Coke.

Now these DO need to make a comeback!

Mods, please remove the t-shirt picture. I wasn't intending to offend.

Are you from Australia or New Zealand? If you're Australian the American football league there (not the Aussie-rules one) was actually thinking of converting to CFL rules and field dimensions as the CFL was doing a global initiative before the pandemic broke out. But you're right, it would be great to see more emerging sports and properties on the Amico. Of course, that doesn't mean it will happen, but it doesn't hurt to have that dialogue.

No. From the cornfields of Illinois. But I have an interest in and follow emerging and global sports leagues, like professional baseball in Italy and Australia, AFL, etc.

This looks cool & could be on Amico.  It's an arcade game but was also on SNES.  Game play reminds me of Golden Axe.

Image result for king of dragons

And also Legend or Knights of the Round. Quite frankly, Amico seems perfect for single screen beat 'em up action. Crap, don't forget the likes of Double Dragon, Contra, or Metal Slug.

I want my,

I want my,

I want my Amico.

Right-I'm talking from a global perspective and footprint. AFL is an established league. But the sport is a footnote in the US. Professional baseball isn't an emerging sport in the US (MLB), but globally, outside of a few places, is still emerging.

Understood. Would be cool to have a US and a Canadian team(s) in the mix

Big fan of the original. I tip my cap to Capcom. Looks like a lot of blood, sweat and tears went into this one.

Like I said the other day about this game. Hmmmm no Pixel Graphics.. I don't hear people complaining about the artistic choices made on this game.... :P I would love to see this on the Amico as well!

Yeah. A lot of party poopers are suddenly finding a foot in their mouth about this graphic style, probably saying to each other with feigned determination that this is somehow different.

It's not only that. The double standard is clear and it always goes against the Amico:

- The Amico should have pixel art. But when my favorite company does high res 2D remakes, it's okay.

- The Amico delay means it's a scam. But when Playdate does the same, or Cyberpunk 2077 is released full of bugs, or even car manufacturers severely cut their production due to chip shortages, that's fine.

- All the Amico games should have multiplayer and 95% is not enough, but when my favorite company only reaches 10% that's fine.

- The Amico graphics "look pedestrian", but when Nintendo releases things like Miitopia, it's perfectly fine, they know what they're doing.

This 2021 remaster of a 2016 game is perfectly acceptable for somebody who says Amico games look terrible

Going after the underdog hoping they fail so you can have an ego boost is really sad. I wish video game fans were more like music fans. Do you imagine Aerosmith or Red Hot Chili Peppers fans attacking new bands because they offer something different while taking some inspiration from their favorite artists?

Yo!,

Just a quick hello now that the mods have moved Amico over to it's own area in the Modern Consoles category. Pretty cool!

I kinda got a kick out out of the fact that there is more activity in Amico than PS5 & XBOX... but considering the average person who comes here (i.e. retro focused) it's that much of a feat... but still thought it was kinda fun.

:)

I also noticed that we passed the 1 million mark for views on this thread!  WOW!  Pretty amazing if you think about it.  Not sure where that ranks in the history of Atari Age over the past 20 years or so, but I'm assuming it's gotta be more rare than naught?  So again... thanks to everyone watching and contributing.

And THANK YOU all so much for the kind birthday wishes!  I actually took most of the day off (which is rare for me during the week) and had a great hike through the mountains with my wife Shannon and my dog Houdini.  We made vegan ice cream and then pizzas from scratch.  Found the most excellent vegan raspberry cheesecake and watched movies and played games all night.  Had long conversations with my mom, my dad and my brother.  So it couldn't have been a more perfect day considering the distance everyone was from each other.

Will try to skim through as many questions as possible given the few minutes I have before my morning meetings start.  If I don't get to your question... please repost and I'll get to it over the weekend.

Thanks!!

Hi, Tommy.

You mentioned something about Tecmo Bowl in this thread, that you were talking to those guys, did you not?

The reason I'm asking is, the CFL (the Canadian Football League) wants its own video game. I don't know what exactly that would entail, but I told them about Intellivision and they thought (well, the tech guy who runs the forums and oversees the leagues' software) thought the type of games your company makes would be perfect for them.

Obviously since it's Canada the CFL has a limited audience, but I'm hoping the game, if it comes, could be rebranded in Canada, with Canadian rules and teams. Thanks.

Yes.  We spoke to the folks who own Tecmo.  Would be a great one to bring back!
