Tommy...you mentioned at one point I think about 12 physical games coming when the launch hits (hope I'm getting that right).

I believe he said 10 physical games at launch.  But it could be more now with the delay.

Remember @1001lives / @LordRayken, the maniac that was debating with himself (1001lives was the Amico fan and LordRayken was the Amico hater) and had to be banned by the mods?

Remember how many of us were not 100% sure if his real personality was the hater or the fan?

Well, he has a third name, "swimelodeon", and has pretty much gone full hater in the recent weeks, accusing Tommy of being "dishonest" for "hiding the controls" in the Breakout video, among other crazy stuff:

So I guess that's another mystery solved! I have the feeling one of the few positive things about the delay is that many people will reveal their real face.

There was another game console that was suppose to release in 2020 and was delayed into 2021. Playdate was supposed to be out a year ago, and now it should launch sometime in 2021. Honestly, I haven't heard anything about it or seen anything about its games, but it should still be coming. People were excited for it, and I guess they still are. Personally, I'm excited for Amico whenever it launches.

Also looking forward to the Playdate, but yep it does seem to have fallen victim to the 2020 shortages & work disruptions. Just some of the other stuff that has been delayed/facing shortages:

Microprocessors/electronics for cars, including the new Toyota Tundra & many high end Audis:

Graphic cards:

The new Boeing 777X, who was hoping this would be their bounce back product:

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-boeing-results/lurching-from-crisis-to-crisis-boeing-delays-777x-with-demand-hobbled-idUSKBN29W1EY

Many other things you might not expect including wines, car colors, smart speakers, shipping resources, clothing - along with higher prices to boot.

Ugh, 2020 just keeps on 'giving'.

I waited a day before writing about Amico's new release date.  The new postponement, I don't deny it, gave me despair, I knew about the postponement, of course, but I was hoping to be able to get my hands on the new console in the summer (as some of you know, the founders' edition is a gift for my son  ).  After 24 hours from the announcement, I am more serene, I fully understand the reasons for the delay, finding the electronic components, and working itself, is not easy, if not impossible, and all this for almost a year because of this pandemic.  So I'm here to fully endorse Tommy's vision.  As the other guys have already said, there will be more time to improve where it is needed, consoles and games, but what I am most happy with is that we are back on a date so dear to Tommy and to us who follow this  feed for some time.  Hello everybody.

Happy Birthday!

Tommy, did you get V66 in your area?  You may have been to far west?

I watched this doc last night and I liked it.  Of course I watched this channel back then and love the local music focus.

http://www.lifeonthev.com/  has a few people you may know ;).

Hi, Tommy.

You mentioned something about Tecmo Bowl in this thread, that you were talking to those guys, did you not?

The reason I'm asking is, the CFL (the Canadian Football League) wants its own video game. I don't know what exactly that would entail, but I told them about Intellivision and they thought (well, the tech guy who runs the forums and oversees the leagues' software) thought the type of games your company makes would be perfect for them.

Obviously since it's Canada the CFL has a limited audience, but I'm hoping the game, if it comes, could be rebranded in Canada, with Canadian rules and teams. Thanks.

That would be great-I am thinking we'll see a great selection of unique properties and sports titles. There was an Aussie Rules Football NES game, but it was mostly limited in release to Oz & NZ. . ., but it's pretty fun once you figure it out. It's a great way to grow emerging sports and properties. . .

We already see ACL. We know we're getting bocce. We'll probably see things like curling and rugby, maybe even something like Aussie rules. And even for more standard leagues, unique licenses such as MLS (instead of FIFA, a call back to the NASL Intellivision title) or a USWNT playground-style game, XFL and your suggestion of CFL for football, etc.

Are you from Australia or New Zealand? If you're Australian the American football league there (not the Aussie-rules one) was actually thinking of converting to CFL rules and field dimensions as the CFL was doing a global initiative before the pandemic broke out. But you're right, it would be great to see more emerging sports and properties on the Amico. Of course, that doesn't mean it will happen, but it doesn't hurt to have that dialogue.

Err... you do know how offensive that flag can be, right?

No I didn't... and since you didn't explain, I still don't.

But I can edit it off if it pleases you. Not meaning to offend.

I agree. I never paid any attention to GPK.

And I collected Wacky Packs,Baseball and Basketball cards and played and owned every video game system made in the 80s. Barely even knew GPK existed.

Lots of great things in the 80s but not everyone liked or collected the same things.

I don't think this is about trading cards. Strictly gift cards sold at retail outlets next to Starbucks and Chili's cards.

I made some quick research and it looks like the flag represents the Japanese army since many centuries ago, but is considered offensive in China and South Korea. South Korea was under Japan's control and many people there consider the flag a symbol of Japan's imperialism.
