Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

That brings up a question about the play mechanics of the game itself: I've noticed that every player in the ACL, before tossing the beanbag, will fling the bag in the air a few inches and spin it around a few times. I'm sure there is a "professional" term for it.  But everything that I type makes the 12 year old me... Giggle.  Will this play mechanic be included in the game? I know its not really essential for the game But just wondering.

Wouldn't that be something?

Flattening the bag for better aerodynamics? Or are they just having fun?

Far from a Cornhole expert but I think the recommend throw is to toss it more like a Frisbee, with a bit of spin. I think you are right about distributing the weight (or maybe flattening) before the throw.

That artwork for Bi-Planes looks so good.  I can't wait to see how the artwork will look for the Atari games & Imagic games on Amico.

What I'd love to see is Different type of artwork for each of the Retro Reimagined.  For INTV games, stick with the updated versions of the original artwork, like they seem to be doing. With the different color boxes. For Atari games, updated Atari Artwork. Same stylized art. Keep the multicolored boxes.  Imagic, should have Silver boxes with photo-realistic toys/other things on the cover. When Activision inevitably comes on board, Same thing. Sort of like what Audacity games is doing.

Speaking of Audacity Games - Circus convoy Reduxe/Enhanced/Ultra on Amico?!?!?!

This is a little off-topic, but it's very much on-topic for game collectors,
and the link is, Tommy Tallarico is in the film, talking about game music.
https://watch.plex.tv/movie/nintendo-quest

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3063470/fullcredits
Maybe you've all seen it, but I hadn't, and did not expect the Tommy Tallarico bit.

(I just streamed the film via my Atari VCS, which introduced free Plex to me.)

Of course since then, prices soared for all retro games, and modern games, huh?

For Dutch pricing comparisons, see:
https://www.nedgame.nl/zoek/systeem:nintendo--nes-/

For that matter, you can also check-out the Dutch Ebay, for Intellivision gear...

Here's a screenshot, if anyone's curious:

You can also see a sneak peek at the Glacier White and Graphite Black controllers, as well as the top shell of a couple Vintage Woodgrain systems.

The latter seems less metallic and more glossy, when compared to render shots. Not sure how good it's gonna look if they go with that...

I think the all white looks great, and it will match better with my Wii and Wii-U too,
which already stand next to the living room TV. It can also bring reminders of the Wii
to the casual gamers who may have bought or played a Wii years ago. It does not look
intimidating like a gaming console. It looks more adult this way, and less like for kids.

* Oh, just one concern - I hope the white plastic will not turn to yellow in the sunshine!

This may have been answered somewhere but seeing as there are chip shortages and we're expecting another delay, does this apply to the founder's edition too? I mean, he patches have been made :P

I think the answer is nobody really knows right now because of parts shortages, but Tommy seems to be committed to at least having a limited release if at all possible so that would probably be Founders and other preorders (hopefully)🤞

My first Cornhole (in the wild) sighting!!!

I was out for a walk, early in the morning this weekend.. Saw this.  I don't know these people, but I will go ahead and earn my shill Check this week and let them know about Amico. :)

I do the same thing when trying to toss anything into a small target.  Do it as a self calibration on the weight/mass of the object I’m throwing. Assume this to be similar with some corn hole players.

kinda like taking a practice swing in golf.

Hi, Tommy!

Was the painting for the great Biplanes Box-Art you showed recently done by one of your Intellivision employees or from an externally commissioned graphic artist?

As a big fan of the illustrations of the old Mattel Intellivision Boxes I did an internet research some time ago and found out that Jerrol "Jerr" Richardson was the artist that made them.

But I have never seen one of the original paintings the old boxes where made from. Are they all lost? Since Jerr was a Mattel employee I assume they all are owned by Mattel.

You Tommy, the great collector of all that things, have for sure tried to get hold of the originals?

So if I throw myself up in the air a little bit and spin around.. it will

1)Self Calibrate me.

2)Distribute weight evenly around.

I guess we are all going in business together for self-help and weight loss. If people act quickly, we can throw in a Juice Tiger!

They just pay the 19.99 handling fee.

That is why you need to upgrade to the fancier Amico model, plus I hear it has a built in video game entertainment system to amuse you while you sooth your feet ;)

Hey @Tommy Tallarico just want to make sure I am doing this "Paid Shill" thing right. I pay you and you send me stuff, right? 🤣

(btw bonus points for anyone who can find the order where I screwed up and ordered the wrong size of shirt)

It sure would be nice to the Q and A thread was about Questions and Answers, rather than a few people throwing out personal insults,  presumably hoping others will respond in kind so they have an excuse to remove them from the thread/forum.  That won't work for me, sorry.

I also like how, instead of the Q&A thread being Qs and As, some people use it as a chance post long posts with images and videos that have nothing to do with the subject (and, heck, even their opening line states as much, so they're well aware that they're trying to derail a Q&A discussion) so they can push the entire topic out of the recent comments.

I'm here to talk Amico, players.  Please check your personal dramas at the door.  Thanks.

Screenshot_20210513-140033_Email.jpg

The thread has always had people making comments/posts about the Amico which include videos, screenshots etc.  Yes it says "Q&A" in the title and if you scroll through the history of this thread, Tommy has always scrolled pages and pages back and diligently answers as many questions as possible (he does have a life outside the forum).  The fact that the thread is "Q&A" doesn't mean nobody else can comment in the thread if they don't have a specific question for Tommy.  I mean Tommy is the only one who can authoritatively answer questions about the Amico anyway, so what are the rest of us supposed to do when he's off the forum for more than a day?  Twiddle our thumbs?

So no, nobody is trying to "derail" your questions and push them off the page, why would we do that?

For the record, I'm not paid by Intellivision though I wish I were cause then i'd be a first class shill and maybe have even played a game already!

Peace!

Lots of questions to answer... been slammed this week.

But Pete Snestastic from the UK just let me know about his new Amico channel and wanted to make sure I passed on the info to everyone in here!

Please LIKE & SUBSCRIBE!  The first video is a great one!

Arr, Mateys!

Here is the latest Shark! Shark! Puffy t-shirt design 1st draft.

Does thou like or dislike? Any thoughts?

As The Atari Creep would say: "All feedback is positive"

Nice, I would however like to see a version of a larger puffy image only with no background.
