Damn, I had no idea. I'd even be happy to drive to Welly for it. I'm off to pick up a bunch of PVMs from a mate down there next weekend :D

don't get me wrong i love that we are getting video game play of some games but there are games that

i'm really looking forward to that i might just not watch the game play trailer and want to be surprised when i buy them

like for instance i'm looking forward to an updated Beauty & The Beast and i would be happy just to see a screenshot before i play

and then the excitement of actually playing the game based off of that

I know what you are saying with the images still stuck in your head after 35 years.

Cool.  I'd be interested in checking them out.  Can you send me links to the articles you were paid for?  Curious to see your style of writing when paid professionally as opposed to on your own.

Which games did you write dialogue for?  Would love to check the games out as well.

Thanks.  Looking forward to your questions.  Please use the search option in this thread as more than likely I've probably answered the question previously.

Lots of my past writing work is lost to the sands of time, it never dawned on me back then to archive all my work, but there are a few pieces left on the internet that I am sure you will enjoy. Along with links I will add any extra comments as needed.

The Gamer’s Dilemma: Realism Vs. Fun (Round 1) [Note this is on a wordpress blog site, the GamerCheese site was moved to a dot comdomain but has since been abandoned so only the original wordpress blog version remains online. Also note it was posted by the site owner but clearly says I contributed the piece.]

Your Story is Ruining My Fun [Same site as above, but I like this piece.]

Violent Games Do Not Create Violent Children [Also from the same site, it has since been updated and rewritten due to newer tragedies occuring, but this is the OG version]

List of comic books I reviewed for Go Collect [You will note they do not pay for reviews anymore, I was brought in and paid to review these comics to help fill up the site when it was first launching.]

Xbox One Used Game Policies Revealed

I also worked for an online men's magazine, think Maxim, called Kandies.com but that site has been nuked.

One of the games I contributed dialogue to was Victory Belles it has yet to be released and, by my estimation, may never actually come out. The other games I contributed to I can not discuss do to NDA agreements and such. No, I will not go in to further details about it.

Hey Tommy, here's another peculiar question:

- When you search for the word "amico" in the Spanish version of Google, Intellivision Entertainment is only the 7th result and the rest of results on the first page are not related to video games: Amico Moda, a clothing shop based on the Canary Islands; Amico Corporation, a medical products company; Ámico, the Spanish name of the mythological figure Amykos; a pizzeria in France under the same name; a duo of musical actors in Pamplona, Spain... and even a non-profit organization in Santiago de Compostela, Spain called AMICO (Asociación de Persoas con Discapacidade de Compostela e Comarca, which means Association of People with Disabilities in Compostela and the Region in galician, one of Spain's minority languages). Do you think this will improve after E3? Of course, things get much better when you add "intellivison", but still...

Yes.  I would imagine so.

I was thinking like a cartoon character fighting game like a mashup of Tex Avery & Tom & Jerry characters. Tossing baseball bats, using those seltzer spritzers in the face and dropping anvils on each other. stepping on rakes type of stuff.

Also Rampage where they can pick up the fire trucks and hit each other with them. Maybe throw a radio transmitter from a rooftop like a spear.

LOVE the Tom & Jerry idea!  Of course... Spy vs Spy is another one we're looking in to.  More of a strategy fighter I guess.

Hey... I'm a Firefighter and I take offense to that...I'm suing for 285 million, and 5 Amicos...

...And that AD&D is the next sneak peak video we get!!!

IMG_20200114_110417414_HDR.jpg

I'm hoping to be showing that around E3.  It's a lot like the Night Stalker type of vibe.  Meaning... the graphics are somewhat stylized like that.  Being done by the same studio as well.   :)

Since I got a few minutes for break, let me fire off a quick question...apologies if it has been answered as I haven't had the chance to search the thread.

@Tommy Tallarico Have you or are you considering utilizing the Amico controller in a way that allows the players to do things in the real world that would benefit their in game progress. I was thinking like if a player walks X minutes their character levels up. Catching "pokemon" like creatures then transfering them into the game. Something  similiar to the Sega Dreamcast controller's VMU unit.

We have a few ideas which utilize our RFID and going over friends houses.  We will be announcing a few at E3 in June.  We are all about people getting together and playing together.  The more controllers hooked up to an Amico... the better.

Some Amico ideas I thought would be cool....

#1 That Dice Rolling demo... how about make a D&D game around it and the dice be D&D dice... and as we roll, the #s that show on screen get automagically tallied for the D&D game you are playing.

#2 a monthly digital Amico Magazine that shows up on our Amico every month.  We can read it online only on our Amico and it will be be fun to keep up with the Amico scene.  Fan supported articles included of course along with new demos, stories, and the what's going on at Intellivision.

TJ

Definitely doing #1.

#2 is a fun idea for sure!  We would need to get a bit bigger in order to hire in house folks just dedicated to writing/producing the digital magazine.  But I love the concept for sure!  Been having some great talks with Marvel about doing certain monthly things.  :) That's all I can say at the moment as things are still in their very early stages.  But I am great friends with the president of Marvel Publishing.  :)

Hey Tommy,

As you have mentioned previously that some games that are released will have Physical counterparts with added goodies. This, let me say I am a huge fan of this approach, one that keeps me supporting Limited Run Games and others.

Are you aiming for a certain percentage of games or is it based on the specific game and its appeal to the collecting community?  Apologies if this has been answered previously.

Also these Q&A’s that you are doing should be the standard for all CEO’s to follow, imho.

Thanks,

Pete

Hi Pete!!!,

So great to have you here!  As you know from my recent social media postings... I'm a big fan of your videos!!  I look forward to each one!  Your passion and positivity is infectious.  Everyone in the office watches them as well.  Keep up the GREAT work!

It's actually based partly on what the retailers want.  We let them decide what "exclusive" physicals they want.  Also... there are certain licenses and games that lend themselves better to physical.  When you see the announcements in June... it will all make more sense.

Also... there is something we're doing that ALL original Intellivision fans are REALLY gonna love!!!  I can't say what it is right now... but when the time comes... I think there is going to be a LOT of happy people here.  :)

Speaking of "Limited Run Games and others", if a particular store or online retailer inquired about a Collector's Edition that does not yet exist, would Intellivision be able to provide that order? (Just speaking hypothetically!)

Yep!  That's exactly what we're doing!  All retailers will have their own exclusives.  No 2 retailers will carry the same physical media!!  Really unique approach... but one that the retailers LOVE.  We are looking to "change the game" in many different ways.  Our retail approach is definitely one.  When you're the clear underdog... you can try getting away with many different and unique things... our only way to be noticed and stand out from the others.  :)

Since it is getting so close, have you thought about making a "www.IntellivisionEntertainment.com/forums" sort of thing?

I’ve often thought of registering an Intellivision fan site kinda like this fine one here that could have forums and a news section.

Not really, but I thought I'd throw it out there, it would add to your website traffic and increase stats.

As time moves on and E3 comes... I may be moved by the man above to make a switch.  haha.

As a side note.. the current Atari is not my Atari.. I wish them well, as that is just in my nature, but the Ataribox that it has become is not what I would have wanted, and what Amico is doing has become what I had hoped they did.. if that makes sense.

My Atari is the early days and up through the Tramiels... as I am rather fond of the Tramiel family, and what shaped my computing of the 80s through 90s until they left us too soon.

But Amico as a gaming console excites me richly, and I can't wait to touch it's gold in the coming months.
