Cool video to watch. Not agree with everything, but well done.
You can leave him comments and give more information if you wish ! 😉 ( You will do better than me in English ! 😅 )

It's a company that is just as big and well known.  We spoke to Foxconn earlier last year and they were on the list of possibilities.  The company we have manufactures for Sony (PS3, 4 & 5) as well as the Nintendo Wii!

Coronavirus will definitely be affecting us and everyone else doing electronics this year.  Machines will be scare on all fronts.  Founder Edition folks are looking like the smartest people in the world right now.  They'll be getting their machines before any retailer!

Thinking about doing another round of pre-orders.  So many people have been disappointed they weren't able to get in on the Founders Edition.  Maybe do another pre-order that isn't as good as the Founder Editions.  More like a "VIP" edition.  Not signed, no pin or patch.  Maybe the poster, the Vintage Woodgrain and the gift card.  $279.   Thoughts??

I would think you are running into financial problems and need more cash?   Is this console in dire straits?

The Atari Creep seems to be desperately trying to be on the fence about the Amico to generate a debate and get more views. He clearly likes the machine, he even says he will buy it, but he keeps encouraging everyone to love AND also to hate the console. This is his second attempt: his last video was titled "The Amico and the VCS... both suck?", but then he didn't give any reasons for the Amico to suck, he said he just wanted people who think it sucked to comment on the video. 😌

I think he was sincere and he wants Amico to succeed.

He did a video one month ago. He reserve is Founder Edition.  🙄   He did some more too !

That was also my first reaction. "Others will have almost the same thing as me, less 20$ !!!" That's why I am also mixed. But if you do it, it should not be now but at E3.

I also think it could be a good idea to have another version. I know a lot of people like the red one.

If you think about it, disappointed people who can't get the Founders Edition, maybe they will not be happy anyway if Tommy doesn't signed the console ?

Why those people are disappointed ? What would they have wanted ? Probably different answer depending of the person. That's why I said if you do it,
be sure to do it right, because it's not because people are saying they are disappointed that they will buy a VIP Edition if what they wanted is not part of the new edition !

Anyway, I am confident in Tommy Tallarico and his team, and that's probably why he wants to know what everybody think about it before he take a decision !

Here is the video about his founder edition.

LePionnier, your last video confirms my theory. He likes the console but, in a couple of videos, he is clerarly trying to create artificial debate of fans Vs. haters. Check out this video:

The other video was really good, even if the guy is not able to see past the "why do I need X because I am a hardcore player" mentality in the "critical thinking" part. He does seem very honest and a nice guy, and does a great job at summarizing most of what we know so far about the Amico.

Looks like you got a few facts wrong there buddy. First, I am all kinds of excited for the Amico but I am not going to say I like an idea if I don't. The idea of another preorder in not something I care for but that has no reflection on how I feel about the Amico project all together. Second, anyone that has been around my channel for any amount of time knows I do not care 1 little bit about views and the "machine" of youtube. Third, the videos title is "Anybody hate both the Atari VCS & Intellivision Amico?". It was a question and not a statement. A question I had because I have had many comments for and against either or but not one in favor or against both consoles. I was curious if there were people out that that have no interest at all in either on.

To date I am sure I have more videos on the Amico than any other channel due to my excitement. (see playlist) All of my videos, not just Amico are how I feel about it. I am NEVER trying to convince anyone to think or feel any way at all. I state that a lot. If it takes a foul mouth dude like me to make you feel or think a particular way, you have some stuff to sort out deep down inside.

LAST, I am and have been team Amico from day 1 and will continue to be unless something happens to sway me the other way. I put out for the Founders Edition, that is not someone on the fence.

Before you pop off about someone, research what who you are taking about and GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT.  You couldn't get a video title right bro, so sit down, shut up and think before you let it spew.

Tommy. Take a look at this crazy clip from Sochi in 2014 with Ski Cross. ( Knowing that we will have this with skiing )

www.youtube.com/watch?v=2biE7TTdpLQ

(The link should work better ... )

So with Amico will it be possible to fall like this ? When jumping will we need to keep ou controler without moving or something like that because if not we can lose our balance !! ?  😮 Could be cool !

Also, with this kind of gameplay, Motocross could be really fun ! 😃

Welcome Atari Creep,

I love you channel.

I wonder if anyone else read your post and heard your voice speaking in their head like I did.  I just love that voice - it's so calming even when you get heated.

I missed out on the pre-order.  Our national convention started that day (the whole 8-day period was packed but especially that Monday) and I couldn't escape for ten minutes to check on status and place a pre-order.  Was expecting to get a chance later that afternoon but the thing sold out in hours. Sometimes life and responsibilities get in the way of making it happen.

That said, I don't think a second limited edition pre-order is a good idea.

Make more wood grain special edition consoles, charge more for the option special edition like originally planned.  But no need for a second limited run now.  Wait to get closer, get it in people's hands after E3, open up pre-orders then. Don't risk the company image of being perceived as cash-short, and giving naysayers a lofty talking point - or, more importantly, over-offering on the amount and they in fact sell slowly, making game journalists question what the future holds when you haven't even begun target marketing for the real audience and it's mostly been excitement in the most niche of retro-gaming forum, group and smaller YouTube channel audiences who've found their way to the website.

All to satisfy a few thousand eager people who'll are eager to help you sell-out in the fall anyway.

We can wait.

And next time, take a day off.

As for whether or not to have another preorder, I think it's a bad idea.  It negates the Founder's Edition's uniqueness and does give off a bad vibe (not that Intellivision is desperate but people will think or say that).

Additionally we can all get preorders at various stores later this year and if supply is low than we loose out until they come back in stock.

It's not the end if the world if your product is sold out. Its actually a good thing!

🙂

Cheers Tommy - I love the fact you post here and ask questions to us TRUE RETRO FANS! :)

On principal, I object to another round of pre-orders. Granted, I got in on the Founders Edition so keep that in mind and do with that what you will ;-) However, if you do another pre-order, then it should just be the standard edition with maybe a gift card for games. That's it. Nothing really special except getting in on it and getting it right after the Founders. This keeps the Founders Edition special (as I know you meant it to be). The thing I am most concerned about is if you keep adding on pre-orders, it may bring negative press like "oh, they are out of money" or "they are just milking this like Atari VCS" or "it must be getting delayed for sure now, just like Atari VCS". To perhaps get past any "Atari VCS" pre-order stigma that's been around for 2 years now, you've already succeeded by only taking a smaller amount ($100)...so if you did another round, I would suggest you to require an even smaller amount ($50 or the amount of the gift card) so people won't say you're just trying to make a cash grab. Again, on principal, I'm against it because then I feel less special with my Founders Edition, but I do feel for those that didn't get in on it. However, if you limit it to only 1 more batch of 2600 that is just a pre-order with a gift card, and 1 order per person, I could live with that. Oh, and open it up for pre-orders on the weekend so hard-working folks that cannot access a PC during business hours can get in on it). Well, this is my 2 cents. Hope these thoughts add something to your own thought process. Whatever you do, I know your motive is pure and true with the TRUE RETRO FAN community, I'm just worried about bad press and social media backlash that may overshadow the good you are intending.

I'm against the "principle" that one person should not get something just so another person can feel a little more special, on principle. Manufactured rarity and collectors and their need to feel special. :P The whole "if you make more of them, mine will feel less special" is an argument I've heard so many times I'm sick of it.

I'm not against special editions, just the "I feel less special" as a principle of some kind. It's games for heaven's sake.

Typical forum mentality. Kind of why I don't post in them. It's ok though. None of it means anything to me. Thanks so much for adding logic to this.

Nothing like a little flare and panache around here! I dig your YouTube vids. Glad your on the scene. I admit the new Intellivision and Atari consoles got me to register here and I’ve enjoyed the forums to date. Don’t agree with everyone on everything but hey that is life, as long as we’re civil what’s the big deal?? 😄

Why you need to voluntarily leave? You seem to be a fan of Amico and other retro games. Stick around and have some fun.

If you haven't already and like retro games I would encourage you to check out the homebrew scene here. That is what brought me here years ago. It has been amazing to see what people have done with the 2600 and 7800 games.
