Any chance of the VIP edition give you the ability to pick your color? Or will it all be the Woodgrain?

You'll have 3 choices (and 2 different price points).

Vintage Woodgrain ($279)

Graphite Black ($249)

Glacier White ($249)

All will come with great value bonuses that are different from the Founders Edition (not as good... but still pretty cool).  I have also decided to do something a little special for all of our Founders Edition folks as well!

I think he said it's woodgrain, abyssal black, or arctic white.

Those color names may or may not be official.

Yeah... I'll say!

What about say 8 games ...I remember the original plan was 7 then dropped to 5.  But 8 games and console supports up to 8 players :)  it keeps all numbers matching .  10/10/2020 that's 3 20s while 8.players and 8 games is 2 8s  :)

Crazy 8s.... ;-)

I say 7... 7 is a lucky number after all.

You see it as jackpot machines all the time...

Lucky 7s

I am a tad superstitious as you can tell.

I also can see into the future sometimes.  hahaha

Just wanted to thank you Tommy for bringing passion back to gaming. I have not been this excited for a new console in forever. My second system was an Intellivision (first was an Odyssey 2) and have always loved it. I've been sharing Amico news with friends and everyone sees the passion you and your team have for this project and I know several are planning to buy. $249 is a nothing for this system and I can't wait.

Thanks for helping to spread the news kijay13!!  And welcome to the AA forums and our Amico Q&A thread!  Hope you'll stay and get to know folks.  Really great bunch we have here (with the occasional asshat or two to keep things exciting).   Hahahha!   ;)

What has been the reaction to Amico from your non-gaming and/or casual gamer friends?

Thanks for the kind words about me and the team as well.  Passion is injected into everything we do throughout the entire company!

Wow... uber cool.

Now show me a picture of you in a Shaolin uniform studying the art deep in the mountains of China and wow, even more respect.

I always had a thing for Shaolin.  I am too soft for it now but in my younger years I enjoyed learning a tad in my teens.

If you ever have the chance.. read the book American Shaolin.

Great book... even includes the legend Iron Crotch.

Maybe it's a Chicago thing? I grew up in Chicago and when I heard people calling it "cornhole" I thought it was kind of vulgar (but nobody else seemed to mind).  I call it "bean bag toss" because I just can't bring myself to calling it Cornhole.

Same here: grew up with it being called bean bag toss.  Perhaps not the most inventive name.  When I hear "cornhole"... let's just say it isn't a family-friendly activity.

I'm originally from rural Nevada... to me, cornhole isn't a family friendly word either!

I have a casual gamer at work with two young children (both under the age of eight) that got very excited when I showed her the Amico. This is going to be a perfect console for her kids as the games will be family friendly and can be played by everyone. My adult children are all "hardcore" and even they are impressed. I'm telling you the passion that you and your team are putting into this console is showing and that alone excites people. Now that I found this post I will be here quite a bit. I am beyond excited to get my hands on an Amico!

Okay... after thinking about it more... I think we're going to keep the name Glacier White instead of Ivory White.

Ever since @GrudgeQ rightfully brought up the ivory/elephant thing... it's been bugging me ever since.  So thank you for bringing it up.

I was worried that the white isn't glossy anymore and when I think of glaciers they are glossy, icy, wet.  Me, our Mechanical Engineer (Slade) and our VP of Global Marketing (Cara) were going back and forth on e-mail at midnight last night.  Slade reminded me that the silver highlights and the fact that the white paint is a fine metallic would still give off a glacier kind of feeling.  Cara always liked the Glacier White name as well so we decided to keep it as is.

So Glacier White it is!

Thanks to GrudgeQ for helping to steer the decision making process!

Maybe its just me but i always thought Glacier White sounded sexy!

Power to the people!'

I really shouldn't be this excited over a cornhole screenshot, but yet, here we are...  I can see this one being a favorite with my kids.

One thing I think some naysayers are forgetting with the Amico is the benefit to families of having quick playing experiences.  Currently, Wii Sports, Wii Party, and Just Dance are the most played games in our house.  Why?  Because my kids are 6 and 8 years old and have the dexterity and attention spans of, well, 6 and 8 year olds.  They quickly tire of the same game and are constantly switching between games on Wii Sports or Wii Party - many times circling back to a game they just played 10 minutes before.  The other great thing about these short experiences is that my wife or I can take 5 minutes out of whatever chore we are doing, hop in a round and play with the kids, then hop out again as they continue to play on.  This is one of the reasons I am anticipating the Amico so much.  It sounds like most games are going to be like this (instead of the 2/3 titles we have on the Wii currently and are getting quite long in the tooth).

Thank you Tommy!!!! Love the choices.. Now I actually have to MAKE a choice! Now even more jealous of the Founders Edition people! Looking forward to seeing Yar's and Adventure in action.  I can remember when I read about the Adventure's Easter egg in a magazine.  (Electronic Games if I recall).  Spending the night over at my friends house. Then finally finding the invisible dot. After that, it was HOURS before finally finding the hidden chamber.  Not quite the same with Yar's. That was an accident. Duplicating it was the hard part.

Still Tommy is the one guy that when you are sitting around the bar and they say something crazy like "yep, studied in a Shaolin temple" or "yep, I own Elvis's guitar" NOBODY throws down a $20 and challenges them. Well they used to but that is how he paid for that Ferrari ;)

I'm from Wisconsin and currently live in Minnesota and I always knew it by beanbag toss but it seems the official name is Cornhole...  at least according to the American Cornhole Organization (https://americancornhole.com/), American Cornhole League (https://www.iplaycornhole.com/), and the World Cornhole Organization (http://iplaywco.com/). Maybe IE could partner with one of them to be the official game of the ACO, ACL, or WCO.  😄

OK I giggled as I read each one of those - proving I am mentally 12 years old - good idea though.
