You know what? Even if I was to go to sleep, I use my Vita as an alarm clock and the stupid blue light will start flashing/glowing if I get an email, so there is a good chance that it will wake me up even if I do go to sleep. Might as well subject my sleepy eyes and brain to blue light and add to the insomnia that I already have by reading the email or whatever in that case. In case you've never seen the Vita's incredibly beautiful OLED screen, it's blinding at the lowest brightness setting so I'll also lose my night vision and I have to tilt it almost 90 degrees away from my face to avoid becoming blinded by it as I read my email. Even better!

I used to have a PS Vita.

If you really don't like the PS button lighting up when you get an email, you can go into the settings and turn it off.  I also keep my Vita next to my bed, but I've turned off the notifications for most apps.

I want it to light up so I know when I have an email. That's the only thing I leave the light on for. Everything else is turned off. Sometimes it gets annoying when I'm sitting there in bed with the Switch/Nomad/whatever else and it starts lighting up every 15 minutes because of the time zone difference. Sometimes I get a bunch of emails around 0100~0600 because of the US/Japan time difference.

Anyway, no email or anything and I just realized it's past 0200, so I guess I will be here later today after I sleep. Not much to do today since work is more or less cancelled. Still have some stuff to do for our website/marketing crap, but I can do that from home.

its like you guys are actually ignoring all possible warning signs. nintendo did this its called the wii. when you look back on the wii all you think of is wii sports. as a hardcore gamer you may look back on it as skyward sword and mario. wii sports came with the wii it was just an accessory to get you into the wii and to understanding the motion controls and then you move on. wii sports is one of the best selling games on a console because it came with the wii. no one wants a wii anymore. there are millions for sale in flea markets, second hand markets, ebay. you can barely give them away. people look back on it as something of a gimmick now. some nursing homes got in on the hype and some still use it yes but thats it. i like the idea and the console. but i am not seeing this market you talk about. the reason why they do not make these games their core focus is because it doesnt sell. old people are not looking for a family fun console.

tommys 5 pack in games are going to be the amicos wii sports. they are crucial but also can they even be the wii sports 2? and again wii exploded because families were playing wii bowling. no one is playing wii blowing anymore or even looking for another wii bowling. it came and went. i dont know if im going to get thru to anyone on this board.

i mean its obviously not the same. amico has some definitely cooler games. but yeah when these are the type of game that amico devs are making... it isn't tough for someone like nintendo to quickly make short work of neutralizing that competition. because they're literally nintendo. that name recognition and the respect that the switch has earned with big name titles like mario and zelda. they did it with wii sports again. amico wouldnt even be on the table. tommy mentions wii constantly in his marketing and interviews.

im going to lay some truths before i go because no one is actually interested in listening at this point and i cant fault tommy for defending his brand. tommy is a good guy and all he wants is what is best for his system and i will support him but these are the realities and all the talk about this controller.

inty/tommy could have launched the software service, making sure all the games will work well with that controller, silently developing and testing them with the controller, and then eventually launch the controller after the service is successful. but without the software, the controller is nothing. the controller isn't going to make an unfun game fun, so the games need to prove themselves first before justifying a physical product launch which is much more expensive, and limits your market way too early on

but i get it that it doesn't make sense with the audience they are going for

tommy wants this to be something physical that a casual user can pick up at a store and just take home. but i just dont think that can work with anything that isn't cheap like a retro clone console because nintendo already does that shit anyway

https://www.nbcnews.com/tech/video-games/older-people-are-embracing-video-games-some-stardom-n1047906

they could still do it if they drop the expensive hardware and go with cheap hardware that is easy to pick up on a budget or software that works on a different console, smart TV "channels", Rokus or just ios/android like ive mentioned already. i was 100% on board when the console was around $200 or under $200. i am still on board but i am not lying, $250 is quite the price hike.

which the possibility to launch a controller and console later after they have a following and some really good games under their belt... under their belt... (wtf does that phrase actually imply... food apparently saying for fat people or something.) its a bummer though because the controllers are pretty cool.

but yeah im going to clock out. you guys are hardcore fans and will remain hardcore until it launches and i applaud that. when the amico launches i am still buying a console to support tommy because hes an industry vet who deserves support (been to several video games lives) but i am also not going to beat around the bush anymore.

youll still see me trolling haters on youtube comments and attacking people who talk shit just to wish failure on things.

The Amico is like the Wii only in that Tommy hopes to capture the casual market the way the Wii did but they have much more different with the system than the same in my opinion. For example while the motion controls on Wii were a gimmick part of the reason they weren’t as widely used I would think would be because 3rd party companies were left to produce games for the casual market because that’s not the kind of thing that Nintendo did, and because it was other companies doing the casual games they didn’t know how to fully utilize the motion controls.  Intellivision however becomes a partner in each game creation and makes sure your game is not only fun but takes advantage of the options afforded by a unique controller.

As far as Nintendo and their casual games package while this is good and it might get some family gaming going with people who own a Switch this most likely not the kind of thing that increases sells for their system since the system is still marketed for Nintendo fans of those classic IPs.

I didn’t own and have never played a Wii I was a one system a generation person and I would get PS consoles but during PS3 I realized that with the rising cost of systems and games I wasn’t getting value out of my purchase anymore and so I skipped this last generation all together and wouldn’t care about the coming consoles if not for Intellivision.  What I know about the Wii is this it’s the 4th best selling console in history at 103 million units, I also know that the last version of Just Dance released just dance 2020 was released for the Wii and outsold the current console version of the games combined which would suggest that casual gamers are still playing Wii and might very well welcome a new console focusing on gaming for them.

Finally your thoughts that Intellivision could just develop software and get out of the hardware game because the system as you see it won’t sell at its thought to be price point.  If you only produce software you lose the ability to control the message because you have to make product that will sell to the people who currently own the product.  So if Intellivision got out of hardware and into software only the budgets for games would skyrocket for console games because they would have to be these huge open world experiences for people to care and Intellivision if not careful would cease to exist, or they would have to create mobile games and hope they don’t get lost in the crowd.  By having hardware they can control the message of the system, they can set the rules for development on their system, they can correct those things they see as flaws in the industry today such as the wats games are developed and the focus of what makes a great game things you can’t afford to do as solely a software developer.  Sorry for the long post.

The last one ( that we will not know today or monday ? ) it's probably the game I call "Icecream Cone" ( From Dorkalicious ! )  lol

They can't say much about the game right now, so they have to wait.

1) Skiing

2) Corn Hole

My guesses on the remaining 4:

3) Leisure Suit Larry

4) Call of Duty

5) PUG-G

6) Halo

What?  Did you not hear Tommy in that he still has some big developer and system reveals?

Why is Ian so angry? Reading some of these comments including Rayken's...

Did something happen between Ian and Tommy? This is getting pretty weird. Ian is outright screaming sometimes.

I know its not the go to solution, but it is a solution; liable suit, its a thing.

IE has a team of lawyers already under retainer.

I myself havent watched it and have no intention of watching this or any future ones.  Why add to their count.

Ian is screaming and cussing and attacking ReviewTechUSA right out of the gate.

What is wrong with him? Is he mentally okay? This is honestly making him look like he has serious problems. Pat is actually staying calm and compared to Ian, Pat looks like the "Saint" Rayken has been calling him as a joke.

Edit: watched further in the video. They clearly have a lot of things against Tommy personally and are taking out their anger and frustration about him and the way he does things. This goes beyond the Amico now. Something is broken between these two and Tommy Tallarico/Amico. They have personal vendettas at this juncture. The way they are acting and discussing this isn't normal hater stuff at this point.

Hi everyone!

I’m a longtime “lurker” first time poster, mainly for two reasons: I’m not a “retro-enthusiast” or even an intellivision fan (although chances are I will be by 10/10/2020). So I felt a bit like an “intruder” posting in this type of forum, but I ended up here by  accident about a year ago, I was searching the internet for some video games to play with my daughter (7yrs), and happend to get stuck watching OEB Pete’s vídeos on YouTube, and he was talking about this new console that was going to come out, so from there I found an interview with Tommy Tallarico speaking of the Amico and everything he said really resonated with me and what I was looking for, so I kept watching anything related and so I found this forum and really enjoyed the conversation you guys are having in this thread, you have such a great balance between serious discussions and easy jokes. Regarding the Amico, I’m not worried about the controller as some others, in fact, to me it’s probably the main “selling point” as I’m hoping for that unique gameplay/game mecanics it opens up to. The games are also very interesting from what I have seen so far, I love the great variety and the focus on multiplayer - regardless of experience. I know Tommy has been saying there will be a lot of games for smaller kids, but I would like to know/see more about which types of games will be coming in that category. Anyways, nice to say hi to you all, and extra thanks to Pete for the videos!

Maybe it's still cause Tommy called him the long-haired dude?

He could be growing angrier (i.e., throwing a temper tantrum) if he is getting shill response counter to his way (I mean beliefs; no I mean his bias).

Pat stays pretty collected in the video and could actually phrase his points in a more calm manner.

Ian just seems absolutely gone. Like he's crazy and angry about something Tommy did personally, not even the Amico. The way Ian is acting is a train wreck. In the end of the day we're talking about a machine that plays video games. It's a video game console. This isn't that serious. You don't have to like it or watch videos on it and get this angry.

Tommy, I need to confess...

I never played Missile Command.

The video helped me to want to be interested in this game.

Besides I said to myself that when friends will play for the 1st time, I would start by making them play solo so that they understand what is going on before playing with others.

Everything seemed for the best, despite the waiting time for October 10.

But the dark side attracted me this morning. I tried Missile Command Recharged. And I liked it ... So I confess and ask to forgive my sin. 😆

Looking forward for Missile Command on Amico! 😃

We need as much Amico game footage as we can get right now.

If it helps... I am uploading as we speak a "TJ" type Amico video to YouTube.

May help... then again may drive you to "something else".

Their behavior is something really strange. Why is that? Are they jealous to Tommy or what.. do they want to be like Tommy because he has more influence in the industry and has worked with a legend like Shigeru Miyamoto. They are 40 year old men being angry at everything. I don't know, just thinking. Funny thing is that they are calling Rich a hack for not asking hard questions 😂
