I have talked with my wife about that fan and pentagon entrance. Haha. I keep thinking the same thing. How can that fan turn on without smacking the edge of the walls?

Well yeah.... there is that.

And just remember... the best way to try and stop hacking.... is to hire a hacker.

I guess Nintendo didn't do that...😜

I'll admit, I did a pre-order for a woodgrain yesterday.

I'm a full on hater hot-sauce taco-loving poster in that other device thread.  And a veteran of the giant Chameleon fiasco thread as well.

At least with this there is some product visibility, a vision of what the box is supposed to be doing, and more convincing updates of a device that actually is likely to exist.

I've also been a kickstarter supporter of every Video Games Live since I saw it live way back in 2008, so probably #3, and they all have delivered, so I know Tommy is not just a crook.  Also - the fact he is involved 24/7 somehow in posting and media - I don't know how anyone could be this involved without sleeping.

Damn!  Ya learn something every day!

I'm not sure how well those Redbox things are doing... but I see a few of them around town.  Mostly outside grocery stores.

Funniest redbox placement I ever saw was when I was in college I think it was right outside a pizza joint which makes total sense but the guys put it in the path of the automatic sprinkler so if you went the wrong time of day they thing didn’t function because it was wet lol

Thank-you!  I appreciate the support and the dropping of facts.  :)

Aside from being a super high functioning multi-tasker... I've also been diagnosed with THIS:

https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/sleep-newzzz/201104/could-you-be-super-sleeper

No April's Fools joke.

The average person sleeps 8 hours... that's 1/3 of your entire life.  By the time people are 60 they have slept 20 full years of their life.  I've only done half of that.  So imagine if you could stay up for the next 20 years straight without ever going to sleep.  Imagine the things you would do or make.

You'd probably even find some time to go on message boards dissing wankers.

Hi Tommy,

A long time ago you hinted that Australia may be on the cards for a release when it goes on sale in the U.S. and clearly due to current global events that would not be happening now but what are your plans for down under?

I have a founders edition on order so I'm ok but the the rest of Australia needs access to the amico!

Have you had talks with retailers here?

This is partially why I'm deciding to pre-order as well. Product visibility, goals, updates, and a team working to deliver something. Even if the Amico doesn't fully pan out, this level of effort and the dreams of this team I feel are totally unique in today's market. Especially outside of Kickstarter.

it must have been quite the headtrip when you first found out how the world really works, and the underbelly lurking beneath the shadows that really controls it all. i've often wondered how people can just go on with their daily routine, and just continue to live out their lives and do their own thing like no big deal after being exposed to the truth like that? i mean... i'm sure you're totally used to it by now; but at first it must have felt like how wesley snipes said in the movie blade: "You better wake up. The world you live in is just a sugar-coated topping. There is another world beneath it. The real world!" And that totally must have discombobulated you and crumbled your reality for a while. But then again... maybe not. some people are just so full of ambition and greed that they can easily shake things off like that; and just nonchalantly move on with their lives knowing they made the big time and are gonna get paid and live the life of their dreams. But, still... initially... it must have been like this gigantic elephant in the room whenever you hanged out with your cousin from that point on. like... you want to talk about it... knowing he knew all along... but you can't. knowing that even the slightest whisper could very well cost you your life.

Tommy, what are your plans for video options for the original Intellivision games on Amico? I'm hoping for integer scaled vertical axis (for Intellivision, this would be a 6x height assuming your screen's vertical resolution is 1080), proper 4:3 aspect ratio with horizontal interpolation to fix the uneven pixel sizes if needed (I'm not sure if the original Intellivision's horizontal resolution needs this or not, but I imagine that it probably does), optional hybrid scanline filter that lines up properly with the pixel grid, and all of that.

Yes, this is all very specific for a reason. I'm tired of companies releasing their old games with crappy dark blurry CRT filters instead of a good hybrid scanline filter, bad aspect ratio options, no h. interpolation, etc., so I hope you guys decide to do it properly!

It's still the second most watched movie of all time (according to imdb).  And unlike video game publishers, movie publishers make their old catalog easily available.  If they do an E.T. game they should make sure it's one of the best games on the system only because of the original baggage.  But I think more people would think of the movie over the atari video game.  Not sure how helpfull the grown up child actor would help with promotion unless it's Drew Barrymore.

Six times vertical scaling would cut off part of the picture.  Five times would give a decent border.  I think 4:3 aspect ratio should be the default but some will complain so a horizontally stretched image might have to be an option.  Horizontal interpolation will be needed for 4:3.  My guess is that none of this is being worked on this year.  The emulator they plan to use currently only outputs a specified resolution and does not otherwise create an aspect ratio within standard HD resolutions.  Meaning the emulator could output 1440x1080 but it would be up to the TV to not scale the horizontal and maintain the 4:3 aspect ratio.

Oops, I read that backwards. I thought 160 was the vertical for some reason. Disregard and make it a 5x.
