Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

Currently there isn't (because it would be too easy for piracy). Bringing the controllers into the room though would be easy.

That's what I thought but I had to ask. I'll just buy the game twice if it's something we play a lot of in two different rooms. No worries, easy to do when they are priced between $3 and $10 bucks.

Do you really have one of those?!?!?

(the proper response would probably be)...

Wouldn't that be something™!

:D

Lol! No I don’t but it’s been at the top of my want list for years. I’m thinking maybe a VIP bonus for a guy who has been a big Amico supporter would be to make an Amico version of this and also maybe a blue limited edition console to match. 🤔 😎😂 Just spitballing ideas here.

Wow!  That was fantastic.  After the first three minutes, I thought it was incredible.  Then it just got better.

Perhaps a little too much John Alvarado, but I get it.  You had to appeal to some... @Michael Garvey

Of course this is going to bring out the haters.  I noticed it already did. Whatever. Like you said, this isn't a zero sum game. Amico winning doesn't mean somebody else loses.  Great job.

(my only criticism would be that the audio editing needs some tweaking because you get drowned out by the background noise sometimes)

Thanks for the criticism.  I noticed too, especially on the clips I changed at the last minute (Sony was blaring, sorry!).  Also caught the duplicated audio clip.  Should've listened one more time, just took soo long to render and upload to YouTube.  Listening forty times, you tune a bit out I think.  Will clean it up and dial back the music channels.  My enthusiasm for the system carried into those beats!

No such thing as too much Alvarado.  I wanted to add Michael Garvey's avatar to his controller screen, but couldn't get the tracking working on the clip.  Next time.

Or... everyone can just ignore him. Am I the only one who thought Tony's interview wasn't that bad? I just listened to it, and it sounded like Tommy was a little disappointed at the end when it was over even though it was three hours so he couldn't have been that uncomfortable or antagonized. I thought it was actually cool to hear Tommy talk about some different stuff instead of just educating the interviewer about what the amico is like on most interviews which is why we hear the same stuff. also if you look at the guys Channel this was his first stream you know it's harder than it looks. this guy is a writer not a public speaker he needs to get a pass he's not like the other YouTubers looking for some attention, views, and subs.

My reference was mainly to him going to @RetroAdvisoryBoard's youtube channel for the sole purpose of trash talking him. Why would someone intentionally search out something like that just to give it grief?

All right, did someone order a refreshing palate cleanse?  I heard back from the kitchen that last video was.. uh... undercooked.  You're gonna like this one, the bartender insists.

It's on the house.  Slow day on the YouTube.

I've also got a virGin & Tonic for a Tommy V. Tallarico?  Tommy V.?  Oh, I'm sorry, Tommy A.

Also is there a Tony?  Tony??  ...No?  No Tonys appearing in this video, sorry to say.  There's a hint of bitters in this one though.  Oh yes, we used just a hint of the finest Contri liqueur (he's pretty big on the Tube you'll have it), and a shot of some fiesty Ferguson whiskey, it's popular.  In parts.

There's a very special Keith Robinson appearance for those in the know, and I assure you, although Passover and Easter may be a little muted this year, but there are a few little Easter eggs in this one.  Creeper Fish, you know what I'm talkin about.

Finally, there was a special note, saying "Thanks across the AA forum for all the encouragement, special thanks to GrudgeQ, IntelliMission, Tommy Wouldn'tThatBeSomethingand anyone I'm missing at the moment for the votes of confidence.. it meant a lot.  The first of many, and they'll come quicker, better.  Oh and if not interested in the whole state of the industry set-up, skip ahead to about the 25 minute mark for the Amico stuff.  And stay to the end for the after-party."

That's it.  Saluti all you shill b*tches.  Sorry to keep you waiting.  Working on follow-ups. 🙂

Ciao amici.

Me & Bobby have known each other for a LONG time.  I haven't spoken to him in years though... so this should be a great one as he is a really knowledgeable guy and I have no idea what he thinks of Amico.  He'll ask some great questions I'm sure!

Can you post a link to the interview after it’s done ?

I've been thinking about that a lot lately.  Edutainment for adults!  I'm sure most of us all love watching things like the Discovery or History channel.  Would there be a really fun and interactive way for adults to learn while having fun as well.  There are some interesting things and idea I've been playing over the past few weeks that have merit.

Anyway... to answer your question more direct.  Nothing in the pipeline now... but the seed has been planted.

I wanna play Oregon Trail or I'm taking my Amico controller home!

Well said.  So I left it.  Tony reached out to me months ago after I asked for details about his allegations and conflated adult content on the Switch.  I have deliberately tried to be cordial to him on here, on his video (if I said something diminishing him, it escapes me.  I may have, but I've attempted to be tempered to people who cannot speak up for themselves).  I'm happy to have him dig up whatever slander he thinks I've said, I'm happy to record the scroll through my AA history.  But I don't think anything I said in particular triggered him, perhaps just a case of recognizing another shill from AA.  That's cool.

Yes.  You bring up a valid point.  And if something like that were to happen, it would probably be discussed and on the drawing board to some extent.

I mean... that is... if we were actually talking to them.. which I can neither confirm nor deny at this point.

Interesting fact:  Our Global VP of Marketing (Cara) is great friends with the person in charge of certain very important Funko stuff.  They worked at Mattel together.

Lets just say... nice to have good friends in high places.

:)

Hrm, I foresee a Funco Pop of Intellivison's new mascot in the future...

Alright! I see how you all are. For 50 pages, you all go on and on about this guy Tony, but NOOOOOO! As soon as I join it, it's like

"No Blarneo! Don't feed the trolls. Ignore him. What's the matter with you? Stirring up S#!t!" 🥵

Fine then! I didn't want to come to your stupid party anyway!

There's an even better saying...Never wrestle with a pig.  You just get dirty and the pig enjoys it!

Pat and Ian just need to drop their feud. They let their crap with Rich from Reviewtech spill out and now they're mixing Tommy in with that too. They just want to make enemies at this point.

I was referring to the Tony and Tommy interview, but I agree with you about Pat and Ian. So ridiculous.

That would be my only very very small note as well.  Sometimes the background music got a little too loud.

But such a minor note for such an incredible job!!!!!!

I'm still in shock over how great it was.

How long did it take you to put that together??

I've already sent it to everyone on the team and they are loving it as well!

I gotta get your Sub numbers through the roof!  Folks need to know about this!

Will be blasting like crazy tomorrow!

I circled back and grabbed a second unit for myself to play in the garage (woodgrain) after already having pre-ordered one for the family/kids, but now after reading the games list and talking to my folks I might be picking up a THIRD for the kids to have at grandma’s.

We were on the phone catching up and I brought up “remember Intellivision?” - after 5 minutes my mother says “well that sounds like something I’d like to play with the grandkids...” looks like it’s going to be an Intellivision Christmas for everyone in the family this year.

stoked!

Wow!  Thanks for sharing!

YES!!!!!!!  That is EXACTLY what is so obvious to everyone here... that the elitist hardcores just don't get.

If you would have described the Switch to you mother... would she have had the same response?  Very doubtful I believe.  Imagine your mom trying to navigate through the e-Shop trying to find something she would enjoy?

The way we split out everything into different categories is SUPER SIMPLE and easy.  And the same game can easily be in multiple categories!  On your menu/home screen, you may have a game like Cornhole in FAVORITES and the same game show up in PARTY GAMES, and GRANDPARENTS and SPORTS and MOTION CONTROLLED, etc.!

The Amico store is the same way!

So whatever you are looking for... you can find easily!

And wait til you see what it looks like and how it's presented.  VERY different and cool than anything that people are used to.  Cause again... we want it to be SIMPLE and FUN.

Thanks again for helping us to spread the word!!   Can't wait to see pics of you and your mom playing Amico this Christmas.

Are you going to re-upload it?  If so... I believe it would be a brand new link.  I just want to make sure that the video link I promote tomorrow will still be good.  Or... should I wait for another one to come?

Will do.  It was a live Twitch stream, but he said he'll put it up on YouTube and let me know when it's up.
