And Tommy, any pinball games in development for Amico? Seems like a perfect match.

@Tommy TallaricoI just re watched the Amico reveal trailer. I haven't heard much, lately, about the onboard interactive lighting effects on the Amico.  Was it really October 2018? Wow doesn't seem that long ago. What games will be taking advantage of the feature? Can you say anything else about how it will be used? If your lips are sealed for now. No worries. Never hurts to ask.

Greetings Tommy, what do you think about Robby?

Robby Roto, that is! :)

Fun fact: Robby Roto was added to the public domain.
https://www.arcade-museum.com/game_detail.php?game_id=9368

Therefore, wouldn't that make it easier for porting Roto to Amico? (see what I did there?) :)

Seriously, Robby Roto is a fun arcade game and would be even better with multiplayer options.

We had a free ad appear in Old School Gamer Magazine today!  It's in the middle and the back cover.

Obviously this was something super simple targeted to the retro audience, but just thought that I would share it with the group here.

Let me just say, this ad is top notch! Love the layout, style and aesthetics! I’m so glad I’m in on the FE. If I saw this and didn’t have a preorder, I’d get one ASAP!

Super Nice!

Why does it take 15 minutes to demonstrate that game?

IIRC Tommy mentioned it may do things like flash red when you get hit and lose hit points or something along that line. It will also start blinking different colors in timing games as time runs out. It could do things like alert users which user takes control, flashes red, player playing red takes control.  Things like that.

Very Cool. Any noticeable uptick on your page view count, although I’d assume many subscribers to that magazine may already be aware.

From my perspective it's pretty funny and entertaining to see how you are all guessing.  :)

A new game idea maybe?  (cue @CurlyQ box cover).

I vote for @GrudgeQ!  He's also one of the mods over at the Amico reddit thread.

Also... @RetroAdvisoryBoard!! Would love to hear an interview with him!

@Relicgamer would be another great one I'd love to hear.

Not sure how entertaining I'd be, but sure, happy to be in the interview hopper should you need a fill-in test dummy @Michael Garvey!  You may want to check Amazon for a much-necessary "Wrap It Up" indicator though 🙂

@OEB_Pete when you send your awarded Amico out, will the recipient receive it... un-opened?  😲

Have you thought this through?  Will you be able to refrain?  If so, do you fear the haters will call you a liar?

Really enjoying and appreciating your vids and interviews and wanted to drop a big thanks!  Don't always get the chance to keep up here but can always fire up one of your videos when walking the dog.

Thanks!

Interesting concern raised on the Amico's reddit page. Any thoughts?

I posted my thoughts.  Im not really concerned.  Sure some games are similar.  But the card games I see work better on the Amico with everyone being able to see their own cards or I  hope that's how it will work. The only thing I see being an issue would be if Nintendo starts shipping their switch with this game. That could pose a threat.  But I have a feeling this was a rushed game. Much wont add up to anything and will be forgotten like most of Nintendos shovelware

Well, it has shogi and mancala, both of which are interesting choices. I don't remember the last time I saw a video game mancala, probably because I never have before, but it's not like I go out of my way looking for mancala.

I may buy it just for shogi, provided that the AI is good enough. There are a few shogi games on Switch as it is, though, and having played exactly none of them, I can't say which of the available options has good AI. Given that this is $39.99 with 51 games and the available shogi games on the system are either about the same price or more expensive (and only have shogi, obviously), I question how good the AI is in comparison.

This is, naturally, why companies don't like making demos, so it's not like I can try any of the available options without buying something.

I agree, but I would say that it’s not the lack of good/fun games for Nintendo/switch that is the problem, even though a very small % of their library would offer my family the opportunity to play all together on the TV, while practically every game for the Amico library is specifically developed/designed for all four of us to play together (even up to 8 people if we have some friends over). The big differentiator for me is still the Amico controller and interactive lighting that will make any game more fun and easier to play.
