I have a question. If I watch this video  100 times on my YouTube account, does it count as 100 views or are the views counted by unique users ? I’m assuming it would count as 100 views but I’m not entirely sure.

Yes.  It counts every time.  So get crackin'.

😁

It sometimes take an hour or so to count the views though.  So it won't show up right away.

Not sure how YouTube tracks views but I have watched the video using multiple browers, multiple computers, via my cellphone (not on wifi) and via my VPN on my tablet using a VPN location I have never used before and the YouTube Count has stayed exactly the same over the last half hour or so. I tried Tommy!

It takes awhile for the view count to change sometimes... so it's working!

Yeah.

We're doing something a little similar with the original Intellivision with Arcade 1UP.  Won't be out til 2021.

But its more of a cool collector item as opposed to a real system you would play on all the time (or instead of the original).

Wait.  WHAT??!!!  Now I'm really intrigued.  Any clues about this?  Something similar?  As in your making a keychain-size version of the original Intellivision?  I'm thinking a stick that you plug into the TV and use your phone as a controller.  Anything like that?

I love the screen grab there, Im a sucker for that art design style.. anyway my point of commenting, I dont know if many of you have played the new Maneater game where you are a shark eating everything.  Its fairly well done except... they managed to make controlling the damn shark complicated.  /Puts on old guy ranting at the controller hat.... I mean all that was needed was swim, jump, bite  etc, a few easy buttons... well they managed to make it complicated with  tail whips, double jumps, jump tail whips, it looks as though the basically just made stuff up in order to fill every button, no matter that it adds nothing to the game.  ugh..  /Take hat off...  40 bucks and Im not sure how often I'll play it due to the whole " now what button does what again? effect"  ..

ps. I guess a lot of this design over complications comes from the fact that these developers rarely have anyone middle aged or older on staff.

I worked on this one!

Even had the rights to redo the John Williams music!

Probably won't be seeing this one on Amico anytime soon!

:)

Part of this line.  But I can tell you 100% that the Intellivision one is gonna be THE BEST!  I personally made sure of it!

:)

Wait till you see the TV I had them design for ours.

If you're familiar with my Intellivision pic as a kid... lets just say you may see some "similarities".

So something like this, but with a better TV?  And I'm sure the console will look more authentic.

I have to agree with some of you guys. I too would be disappointed if a micro Game Gear is Sega's big announcement.

I mean, a lot of us who grew up with the thing are getting older and starting to need reading glasses. With that small of a screen, I would need an electron microscope.

Sega’s heard us and is correcting.

The load screen chimes in “Meeeegaaaa!”

Yeah... that was just a little thing they put together for me at CES in January.  They didn't even have that out during the show.  They just put it together so they could show me the size.

Going to look MUCH different.  That was just a hand painted 3D mock-up.

Ah!  Yeah... that would be the way to go!   :)

The only bummer on the road was the battery life.  But I do have the battery pack add on which boosted it for another 3 - 4 hours.

To redo it, all they would need to do is bigger screen, better speakers (and stereo!), thinner overall and better battery life.

One of the upgrades that I'm planning on having Mobius Strip Tech make is to install the LCDDRV and its RGB screen, which gives you an RGB screen and better battery life. The original screen is not very efficient, which is why the battery life is terrible. Get a modern screen and it will increase the battery life. Laser Bear Industries is working on a new battery pack or something for the Nomad, as well, but I'm not sure of the details. I do remember that it's rechargeable, so you won't have to spend a lot of money on batteries

By the way, when I use my headphones on the Nomad, my right channel is noticeably louder than the left channel and it's annoying. Does yours have this?

I also tried something, a small video with only 7 views in 1 month. But the count stayed the same !

Maybe it's not in realtime. I will take a look tomorrow if it's now 8 views or more. (Because I looked at it 3 times).

I always wondered this. I have done this and did not see the counter go up.

Edit ok I see in an earlier post that each view counts !

Yeah... I believe you're correct about grandparents.  Our initial research and focus testing finds that families between 30 - 45 are our biggest audience.  45 - 60 is our 2nd biggest and 60+ is our 3rd.

We have some very interesting partnerships to announce this summer.  :)

Hey Tommy, Ive been paying attention to the launch of the amico and have some questions and thoughts just from an average gamer perspective.

Will there be a monster collecting game on the amico? I think it would be awesome to shout commands into the mic on the controller and see the monster do what you tell it on screen. I think a monster rancher style game would be awesome on the amico with the ability to scan things that have rfid.

Another game genre im interested in is trading card games. Again because of the rfid scanning i think theres a lot of potential there. Making it 2 player versus could be easy if you use a board with visible units like Scrolls, Duelyst, or Shardbound. Magi Nation was a canadian "triple threat" media franchise (cartoon, video game, collectible card game) that had huge potential but missed its audience because the card game was a little too complex for kids. Would love to see something similar to that on the amico a triple threat franchise like the pokemon company.

Last thing im wondering is will the amico have games like Dust: An Elysian Tail in terms of graphics/production quality?

Lol that last video took over 6 hours to edit and we had to cut about 5 minutes or it would never get done.

I think I might start just video recording myself as editing is too time consuming.

Lol
