You kidding me?  That was ALL THE RAGE back in 72!

🤣

That's okay. I've got a picture of me when I was around 4 or 5 in a snazzy light blue leisure suit, and my hair was rocking some 70's Luke Skywalker wings.

Kinda wish someone would make a re-imagined version of one of the most beloved consoles of all time, but make it family focused, 100% couch co-op and dust off some old games and bring them into a new era.

That sort of thing has NO PLACE IN THIS WORLD since the Switch... err... I dunno... "exists" or something... haven't you been paying attention?

I think all games need a single player mode. Could that be done with these types of games?

Traditionally they aren't but there actually is a single player Android game (based on My Little Pony no less) called (Pinkamena), plus have been several attempts at creating AI players in Werewolf and there are also a VR game with avatars (Werewolves Within) so I think with a bit of re-jigging you might well be able to make single & multiplayer.

Speaking of Amico blue, is there any special reason that you picked that color?

No man. It wasn't cool enough to be Amico blue. Of course, I'm sure I felt like a stud muffin at the time though. I had a nice clip-on tie to go with it.

When I was a couple years older, I had the brilliant idea to try clipping the tie on my tongue. I remember running downstairs screaming because it hurt so bad and I couldn't get it off. My parents saw me coming, screaming with the tie hanging out of my mouth. They couldn't help me at first because they were laughing so hard.

I was really disappointed and felt betrayed...

I do know some folks in here alone have been requesting that color.

I love that choice as well!👍

I totally agree.  I think it would be really cool.  Currently we don't have a game like that, but I'm definitely on the look-out for things like that... so if you know of any Steam, Mobile or Switch games that are similar, please give me links so I can check them out and have our team approach the developers to see if they would like to make something for Amico.

You might consider talking to Funatics Software (a German studio) about acquiring the rights to 'ZanZarah'. It is an older game, from 2002 that they have the rights for. It has some puzzles but is at heart a collecting game where you catch, train and trade faeries and also create teams to combat them against others in an arena (No killing or graphic violence though!).

It certainly is family friendly content, easy to learn and play, and as a relatively unknown title so it would be new to many people. The soundtrack is pure ear candy (no offence!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tl5vPtL6u4o

As it often is on Steam for 90% off, at under 1$ USD, I suspect the rights would likely also be very reasonable? https://store.steampowered.com/app/384570/Zanzarah_The_Hidden_Portal/

Great question.

I wanted to pick a color that both men, women and kids thought was cool.  It has a little "Tron" vibe to it, but also "Tiffany's" for the ladies.  It's not aggressive, but it's not subtle either.  It works well with black and white backgrounds (which is most print type media and advertising) and also subconsciously reminds folks of beautiful oceans, tropical/relaxing fun family vacations, etc.

UPDATE: (We work QUICK around here!)

The rights are owned by Daedalic Entertainment who is based in Hamburg.  They are very good friends of our European president Hans and have been asking him to create games for Amico.

We have a meeting with them on Monday.

BOOM!!

:)

Hey Tommy, don’t forget to have Hans reach out to the guy who created Disc Golf Valley. That would be EPIC to have a disc golf game on the Amico!!!

sounds a lot like Honolulu Blue, which is one of my favorite colors. Its also the Blue used by the Detroit Lions as well

Thanks for the reply! Theres temtem which seems like a good fit because it has co op features. The thing about temtem is that it caters heavily to gender politics. Just a heads up. Also on steam theres a game called heartbeat that is good, but im not sure if the devs can make a more 2.5d game in unity. I would definitely recommend the Nexomon game on the mobile side i think they are developing a sequel. Now that i check they are making a new game for other platforms called Nexomon: Extinction. Could work really well with the motion controls for throwing the "pokeball" also. It looks like they already have an animation for it.

Dust is really awesome!  And I love the graphic style.  I'm not 100% sure if Amico could do that level of special effects they have going on so I don't want to say "yes" or "no"... because I just don't know.  One of our platform games that we're working on is somewhat in that style... but more cartoony.

Thanks again for the questions.

Dean Dodrill the developer of Dust programmed it and designed it alone. It doesnt look like hes done much since then except port Dust to the switch 2 years ago. Maybe he would be interested in making something for the Amico.

I'm going to go on a limb and say that Amico is more powerful than the PS Vita, and Vita had some amazing looking games like that.  Look at some of the Vanillaware games like Dragons Crown or Odins Sphere.  Absolutely gorgeous games that even looked great when played on a large TV.  I think Amico has enough power, but is it the type of game you'd want on the system?  The problem with a lot of Metroidvanias, like Dust, is that if you stop playing it for awhile, you get completely lost.  It's actually one of the reasons I can't finish Dust now, because I started it the other day and have completely forgotten where I'm supposed to go or what I'm supposed to do.

I may have missed this before: Are there any plans to do any fitness type games? I know accessories and such would put those sorts things outside of the $10.00 mark. It would still be cool. I know traditionally they are not huge sellers, but with a lean and mean dev team... I wouldn't think you would have to sell much.

Heres what the Nexomon mobile game is like:

The pokemon fans right now hate the new pokemon games on the switch so they would be down to try something new. Thats why Temtem got so much hype early on. If you could acquire this dev and/or make an exclusive version of their next game with voice commands, motion controls, and 2 player roaming with 2 player co op like temtem i think it could be a win for the amico. They wouldnt be against a $9.99 pricing either because now that i check, they released this game on steam in early access for that price in november last year.
