Ha!  You haven’t been on much of a winning streak the last couple times we played...

Hi!,

Thanks for your personal story.  It really means a lot to hear that stuff.  I only wish your dad was able to play the new one.  But hopefully you can get together again with your brothers and or your kids/nieces/nephews, etc. and relive the magic and tell them stories of how you all played with your dad!

My personal favorite so far is definitely Moon Patrol!  I spent a LOT of time working on the physics of the buggy with the developer and it's so fun and really great to play!!  That one is my personal favorite right now.  I think Paul's as well?  Paul?

Yeah, Amico Moon Patrol is one of my favorites so far (a little odd, since I was never a huge fan of the original Moon Patrol).  When we were going back and forth with all the developers who were doing the playable demos for E3, I found myself going back to Moon Patrol over and over - even when it wasn't a new build that needed to be tested!

Hockey:  It's not going to need a combination of 15 different buttons that's for sure.  LOL. In saying that, I'd be in heaven if you somehow Channel either NHL 94 or the NHL HITZ series.  Obviously I'm a big fan of NHL 94 (who isn't?) but just was good was NHL Hitz 2003 with it's over the top arcade action and multiplayer (both coop or competitive) gameplay.

Although I suspect an arcade style approach I do also hope there is some sort of season mode and playoffs in the game for those like me who want more than just playing one game arcade style.

Tommy and I are both huge fans of the original Intellivision NHL Hockey.  And I also really got into NHL 94 on my Genesis back in the day.  Rest assured we'll be putting a high priority on making Amico hockey great.

Cmart, make sure you make the push to Paul and or Tommy on the Intellivisionaries Podcast to get those corner boards in the new Amico hockey game curved instead of the mistake they made in Slap Shot Super Pro Hockey.  Thanks!

You have nothing to worry about there, got it covered!

Lol. I think I took 14 penalties and spent most of the game short handed. Wasn't my best game. 😂

The way I saw it, you just weren't very good.

Yes.  Absolutely 100%.  Won't be revealed until 10/10 2020.

Here's a little hint.

Lets just say there is a REASON why I never say "The" Amico.

:)

Interesting Amico being the mascot for itself but definitely in line with things Tommy has said in the past such as wanting Amico to be like a tomigotchi (I feel positive I butchered the spelling of that one) or a furby so that the system is interactive like those is my guess. Also that Amico is friend in Italian I feel sure plays into this. Tommy also describes Amico as a cross between a puppy and R2D2 so seems it might also have a bit of personality and finally he mentioned that original Intellivision will be part of its history so it will be like having memories of sorts there is going to be a lot of fun had with that it feels like

What's a Nurmix? Sounds like a smoothie machine.

Something I had on my first website (which still exists but has remained in its hand-coded late '90s HTML style)...

"...back in 1984 / 1985, I was really getting into electronic and industrial dance music, and frequenting clubs like 321 in Santa Monica, California. Shortly after that, I began collecting 12" singles and I started DJ'ing.  Eventually, I had my own DJ business, and worked private parties, dances, and some clubs. And along with my interest in DJ'ing came a desire to create my own versions (mixes) of songs that I liked. And the short and simple answer is that I called the original mixes I created "Nurmixes", since my last name is Nurminen, and it was a remix.  Well, the name sort of stuck, and when I started getting into the online BBS thing (back in the pre-World Wide Web days), I chose Nurmix as my "handle", and I decided to keep using it as my online activities progressed onto the Internet..."

I've met Nurmix in person a few times.  Picture is accurate.  However, being able to shoot down annoying insects with lasers from his eyes is unsettling.

We may or may not already be confirmed in 6 of those 10 stores.  :)

And would be the top 7 if not for Apple.

Geez, great way to ruin the office "Amico Retailer" pool Tommy 🙄

Not sure about the mascot, but referencing the top answer I think the proper term is not "the Amico" but "sh*t-ton of Amicos". ;)

If there is anything good and just in this world please make Paul wear the mascot outfit at E3 next year. 🙏🏻

Just thinking: for a certain contingent of the family market, particularly involving young children, cute mascots were a draw: Mario or Pokémon appealed to young children as if they were virtual dolls/action figures. Does Amico have something to draw that submarket's attention?

yes the shifty eyed dealer is going to be the Cabbage Patch doll of the 2020 Christmas season

Just like the band "Eagles." Everyone calls them "The Eagles". Anyone who calls Facebook "The Facebook" seems stupid, though. I wonder why that is?

I know you guys probably can’t get the licensing to use NHL franchises, but if you can somehow allude to a certain yellow wearing, catfish throwing, country music playing hockey team it’d be a day one buy for me...

Sorry if this is turning into “the business news hour”, but I just wanted to focus a second on Bed Bath & Beyond

I don't know what Barnes and Noble's stores look like in the US, but our equivalent in Québec, Renaud-Bray (and Archambault stores that they bought a few years ago), would also be a great place for Amicos (can I say Amicos?). Unlike Chapters/Indigo, Renaud-Bray doesn't sell video games yet, but they do sell kids' toys and board games, as well as movies, music, and all kinds of useless "gift ideas" that women love to buy (that I also buy from time to time myself, but since I'm a masculine man, I'd never admit that). They are pretty much the entertainment store for middle-class women and their family.

This is something I've had floating around in my head I just wanted to do for fun but for health reasons it took me a while to get around to.

Actually got a little misty eyed over that - the Amico really does seem to be a worthy successor to the classic. Thank you for putting this together.

That’s exactly the kind of reaction we’ve seen over and over when people get to see and play the console in person.  They finally understand the concept and what we’re trying to accomplish, and it all makes sense.

That's true... you have definitely upped your game!  Kinda like me in Baseball against you.  :)

I think we traded skills the past few times we've played.  Time for another rematch.  On company time of course... y'know... RESEARCH!!!  :D
