Also I do believe tommy said that we were going to start seeing the physical media soon. Has anyone seen it yet ?

I don't think you will see much of physical media until closer to launch next year but maybe we will get something on 10/10's video.

Wondering how Cornhole on Amico will handle alignment without an external sensor, or if the input will only be for distance. So much yet to learn... 😃

Im curious about how the controller will be tracked also. In cornhole, the players position is static, the gyroscope and accelerometer in the controller would be enough to track the swing. Holding a button during the swing and releasing the button when you want to let go of the corn bag

Yes power could “easily” be calculated with the internals of the controller with the included sensors, but Cornhole is also about precision  in direction and curious if this is an input for the system; either by some calibrated directioning, or a button press at the right time (like in golf) to add in the direction precision.

Looking forward to sharing a LOT more articles like this in the future.

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel something profound when seeing something like this come from somewhere outside our own little world?  Not sure the word I’m really looking for, but the closest I can seem to come is pride (even though I have no right to feel that, as I haven't made any contributions to the project).  Guess its just that this whole thing really strikes a chord with me and has so clearly defined what it is that has been missing in gaming for me, and am so looking forward to others learning about this for themselves; and hoping they see the value in it as much as I do.

I’m really looking forward to seeing how much the Amico (which is really important to me), makes an impact with people.  Guess if there is a word that describes that feeling, that would be the word I’m searching for.

Great job Tommy and the whole IE team.  Thank you for making something like this a reality.

I can't believe none of the positive articles in these websites for moms followed by MILLIONS of people mentioned that Evel Knievel is not totally exclusive or that the Amico has a small percentage of small investors gained through a website that also does crowdfunding.

Also, none of them seemed to be worried about the possibility of the console being fake and running on an Android emulator.

It's really surprising and I hope some Youtubers with 100 followers reach out to them to let them know the hidden truth about the system.

All of the people I talked to about Amico are at least interested and some are downright chomping at the bit to get one. Quick story here: A girl I work with grew up playing Moon Patrol in the arcades. Sometimes with her father. I got a hold of a MAME emulator and set it up on her computer and USB stick and she plays with them fairly regularly. Guess what happened when I showed her the new demo on her phone. Yep, I answered the phones for the rest of the day. For an hour or so all I would hear was, 'Could you get that, I can't get past this checkpoint.' Thanks Tommy. Oh and she's the one who brings in her cornhole boards for casual Fridays. Yep. She wants Amico. Looked at me kinda stupid-like when I said that she'll probably be able to get one from Bed, Bath, and Beyond in April. Tommy, you and your team are busting up the old way of doing things. There has not been a single negative bit coming from my little tiny focus group.

Except for the Mr. Negative Nancy in our group, he says they should sell Amico for $300 and give four controllers. I told him about the two controllers and recharging stand that should be released at the same time, but I couldn't remember how much it was. I thought it was between $50 and $100. Even if he is a dick about it, his wife might get one for their 6-year-old daughter.

This was very well said.

Every one I have talked to about Amico is either planning to buy one or excited to try the Amico with me.

Here is a partial video highlight breakdown, a work in progress...

Video link highlights:

Tommy is in a studio filming for the 10/10/2020 presentation. Will be talking about the Amico design history, design criteria, announce their chip partner, etc : https://youtu.be/EzH2_N4sqvE?t=73

J Allard carries a chip with him from the XBOX to remind him the importance of quality testing: https://youtu.be/EzH2_N4sqvE?t=360

Where the Amico is launching? (Europe, UK, Canada & the US on April 15th, possibly the Middle East also. A little later Australia, New Zealand) also looking into other areas like South America, India & other countries: https://youtu.be/EzH2_N4sqvE?t=445

Jeff (gogamego) mom (June) was watching Retro Rich video about pre-ordering an Amico: https://youtu.be/EzH2_N4sqvE?t=904

Tommy questions to June (Jeff from gogamego Mom)-

What drives you toward the Amico? June: the variety of games, price of the games, can get games each (her & her husband) like, when the kids come over they can order whatever they like because of the cheap game prices, https://youtu.be/EzH2_N4sqvE?t=1008

So one of the big points you like is all of the games are $9.99 or less? June: Just bought one for Jeff's birthday that was $62 so $10 and under is really a bargain, she really liked the music in the game trailers: https://youtu.be/EzH2_N4sqvE?t=1098

Do you remember the first time you saw or experienced a video game system?: June: when we brought one for Jeff (the Atari 2600) https://youtu.be/EzH2_N4sqvE?t=1202

What do you think of the Amico controllers? June: the Amico is so much simpler and clean looking it is even much easier to look at: https://youtu.be/EzH2_N4sqvE?t=1293

Is simpler controller important to you? June: (PS3 controller) it does seems complicated... June is playing the Moon Patrol demo on the phone and is looking forward to playing with the Amico controllers https://youtu.be/EzH2_N4sqvE?t=1347

June is interested in playing more Moon Patrol and Astrosmash on the Amico: https://youtu.be/EzH2_N4sqvE?t=1504

June: Most will be buy more simpler games so her husband can play. Jeff interjects he would like Cornhole and pinball. https://youtu.be/EzH2_N4sqvE?t=1552

What other types of video games would you like to see? June: she likes the idea of pinball and the card game (Spades) so more games like that (cards, sodoku) https://youtu.be/EzH2_N4sqvE?t=1577

How important to is being able to play with your husband? June: I would like to some games with my husband; like pinball, cards, dice - Liars Dice sounds interesting https://youtu.be/EzH2_N4sqvE?t=1663

How important is that the Amico has no sex, violence, bad language etc? June: I am glad it is more family oriented, June bought a game for grandson and she had to show her ID because of the rating, I don't want to offend people and I don't want my grand kids to see things they shouldn't be looking at https://youtu.be/EzH2_N4sqvE?t=1743

About making the Amico so Tommy can play with his mom: June chimes in she likes the Evel Knievel game (saw it on Crow's Youtube show) https://youtu.be/EzH2_N4sqvE?t=1894

Great round up and overview!  Thanks for doing that for folks.

Yahtzee is the main staple (my wife’s favorite).  We have a deck of cards, a checker set, some trivia games (one Disney, one Star Wars, one Big Bang Theory), Boggle (word game), and some that get moved in and out like What the Meme and Cards Against Humanity.

One popular game that we do not have, but I see at many camp sites is of course Cornhole.

Cornhole eh?  I hear that's a thing now.    :)

What card games do you typically play with your family.

Other folks can please feel free to answer that one as well.

Thanks!

Rudolf Stember(Rainbow Arts/Factor-5) Interviiew (in english). Maybe if Factor 5 makes a Amico game then I think its interesting. But its about all the music of old games on Gamecube, N64, SNES, Mega Drive (Genesis), Amiga, Atari ST, C64:

At the Moment I really can`t wait to play Final R-Type 2 game in 2021. Also Cotton Reboot, Andro Dunos 2 (Where is Part 1 only on Neo Geo?), Aleste Collection and Deathsmiles 1 + 2 are all coming to the Switch in 2021:

Final R-Type 2 Trailer 3: https://youtu.be/8Bg-6bJaHNo

Cotton Reboot: https://youtu.be/FJjqOOK8k4c

Andro Dunos 2: https://youtu.be/whq2uqQ7IeY

Aleste Collection: https://youtu.be/AzT7jlw3obw

Deathsmiles 1+2: https://youtu.be/yT-2_a4SJTM

and for Tommy are there already any news about the intellivision Amico R-Type game? Ar you starting it in 2021?

2021 is a really great year for games on the Switch and I also hope on the Amico :). Will not buy a Playstation 5 and no X-Box Series. But next year the Amico and maybe if its true a new better Nintendo Switch....

Tommy if you are looking for a beautiful but laid back puzzle platformer, check out Seasons After Fall by the French development team Swing Swing Submarine. I immediately got it for one of my daughters after stumbling across it. Ori like graphics & a beautiful string quartet soundtrack too. Very Positive on Steam & 74 Metacritic. Normally $10 on Steam but like $2.50 on Humble right now, been out for several years. If nothing else obviously a talented design team at work.

Stunningly beautiful!  Thanks for sharing.  Will reach out to them immediately.

What did you or your daughter think of the game?

At home and as far as cards go, mostly Jin Rummy.  At the families, Texas Hold’em (big tournaments). We play 3 different games of dice. 1st is Zilch (same game known as Farkle 🙃).  2nd and 3rd I’m not sure of the names, I call them of Acey Ducey and Golf. Acey Duecy is played with 6 dice and you try and score the most points in 3 rolls by banking dice, but your first 2 dice banked must be a 1 and a 2.  Golf is with 5 dice and your goal is to bank the lowest points. 4’s score 0 and remainder of dice are face value, and you must bank at least 1 dice each roll. Both are played to a predetermined point total, rotating rounds between players; we usually play to 500 and 100 points, respectively.

Interesting. Mario Kart Home Circuit is playable with four players. The price to do so: $1200 (minimum).  Wow! That's a lot of money. You could get 4 Amicos instead and buy $200 worth of games.

$1,600 if you don't have any Switches.  Yikes!

We've been speaking with a developer who has some very similar technology, and the great thing is that you could use your phones as the multiple controllers and the cars would be a lot less expensive.

You need to align the controllers at the start of the game (when it's first booted up).  Nothing else needed after that.  But each time you start the game from the main Amico library, you'll need to re-align.

The re-align consists of you putting the controller on a flat surface and touching the screen.  Very easy.
