Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

I was hoping the UI video was today.  Could be later this week?  I thought Tommy said it was going to be this Wednesday.  Whenever it happens, it'll be worth the wait.

I think in the interview last night Tommy said they were going to live stream next week to do the UI and Q&A

Yes, Pat, no mum is going to buy a family friendly console because some of the Care Bears and Sesame Street games shown to investors 6 months before the release date as an example of how they will look are too similar to the existing mobile versions and multiplayer modes have not been added yet.

Everyone in the world must be terribly concerned because 3 or 4 games out of 40 are not totally exclusive for the console and you can find a single player version for mobille.

Haha, gotta love their tears! It's gonna be a long, hard road for them.

A quick list of lies and continued misinformation...

1.  Todd & Slade don't work for Intellivision.

2.  It's a Banana Pi architecture with a Qualcomm chip.

3.  We're direct porting mobile & flash games.

4.  Nitro Derby was already released.

And the final ignorant comment...

5.  No one likes Amico.

Oh... and one overly really dumb and ignorant statement.

License's don't matter.

:)

My personal favorite paradox:

Early on: "I don't know why you'd tell people" [about influences on the design of the console]

Later on: Criticizing the design and professing to not understand the rationale behind the influences

One can criticize the design and the influences, but then you can't at the same time say you don't care about the influences. Pick one.

This is in no way my response to a recent video:

John Riggs: "In my opinion the Intellivision Amico is a great other game system to have. Have your Xbox, have your PlayStation, have your Switch - have all three, I do. Have your Intellivision Amico. This is not sponsored or endorsed, this is me after I played it."

Snestastic Pete: "So number one reason why I'm excited, the games obviously. If you're going to buy a new console the one thing that's going to sell it will be the games... and they make them have multiplayer so that we can all play together instead of playing separately on separate devices. Brilliant, cannot wait, I'm really excited about that"

Hans Ippisch: "One funny thing is my sons were very keen on the playing all the games, they are 14 and 18... but then we played Back Talk Party and suddenly my wife came and said "what are you doing there? I am going to beat you... I want to give it a try."

June (grandmother): "...and the price of the games my gosh you can't pass it up, you know, the individual games. So I thought we could get what we liked, my husband and I, we could get games that we would play, and then when the kids come over they can order whatever they want. For that cheap of a price, you know, if they have a specific game they want, you know, they can go ahead and get it"

Generational Gamer: "this right here, these games, are why I am excited for the Amico"

J Allard: “I told him how I felt the vision was spot on, that I was a huge believer and that I appreciate how hard it is to do what they have set out to do and to ignore the doubt and snark out there."

The way Pat says "nobody liked the original Intellivision controller", "nobody wants the Amico lights", "nobody wants the Amico" is sad.

I noticed he uses some technique I know from some political star commentators where he just wants to sound cool, even if what he says are lies. He uses a cool sounding voice, he knows he has that. And Ian is clearly his biggest fan (I know this because I've had friendships like this, where one is the star and the other the "fan").

It's good to know that the new goalposts are "the price is too high" and "some games are not totally exclusive". Once the console releases in April and sells around 100,000 units, that's a major blow for the haters who said that was never going to happen (and they will feel it, even if they won't admit it!).

Hi !  Here is a first part of the interface for the PS5.

I hope it's not too similar to the Amico Interface. (Because I know that Tommy wanted to keep it as secret as possible !)

Also, maybe IE was curious to see the PS5 UI before showing the one from Amico ! 😀

Maybe the next game play video will show off some Imagic games?  Wouldn't it be something if we get an Imagic demo?

Yes ! That would be cool ! 😀

License From Data East was great news, but the next big license I hope to see is the one with Activision (Pitfall).
But that should come some time after launch day, Activision waiting to see sells numbers from Amico !

When Amico is a success they'll quickly become the Coleco Chameleon of YouTubers.

The only thing somewhat similar is those little out of focus dustlike effects.  We do something kinda similar in our background and have had it for months.  But the interface itself is very different.

WAIT A SECOND!!  They said they started it from rest mode!!!!!!   HOW DARE THEY!!  Clearly this console is fake and not ready.

:D

@Nolagamer That's impossible: Ian said nobody can be interested in the Amico except for "50 year olds that sit in a podcast and say 'yes, tommy'".

Im.in my late 30s myself. Another piece of evidence  proving ian wrong.

Here's my theory.  Pat and Ian love Tommy and Intellivision. If they spend that much time trying to create controversy they obviously are interested in it and I think they also notice their clicks have started going up. Their normal videos are a little boring. Its usually just 2 nerds throwing uneducated opinions about tech products. They obviously are saying incorrect statements because they know it will get Tommy's attention.  Watch they have pre-orders under other people's names 😂

Here is my top 30 games from the last gameplay trailer !

It was very difficult to decide between several titles. Obviously some games that are far down the rankings could easily reach the top 10 when I will play them.

It is not surprising to find at the end of the ranking the games for very young children (mine will be 9 years old) and some games that I do not know.

Then of course what kind of game do I want to play on a day, whether I'm alone, with family or friends will change that !

Regarding Moon Patrol, it has already been in my top 3, but playing on mobile has temporarily dropped it (Hard to control), but I know it will quickly regain its place towards the top! :)

In my top 10, I imagine myself playing these games with my son and his friends.

Dynablaster is quite far away, I played Bomberman so much. It was my game to play with friends about twenty years ago! Still looking forward to giving it a chance.

I know too little about Finigan Fox to put it higher, but I really like platform games. So as of today, here are my top 30!

In Bold are games we know for sure that will come with the system.

30- Care Bears

29- Sesame Street

28- Blank State

27- Emoji Charades

26- Pool

25- Liars Dice

24- Rigid Force Redux Enhanced
23- Finigan Fox

22- Dynablaster
21- Biplanes

20- Battle Tanks

19- Corn Hole

18- Missile Command

17- Back Talk Party

16- Brain Duel

15- Farkle

14- Spades

13- Pong

12- Side Swipers

11- Breakout

10-Nitro Derby

9- Evel Knievel

8- Shark Shark!

7- Major League Baseball

6- Moon Patrol

5- Snafoo

4- Cloudy Mountain

3- Astrosmash

2- Skiing

1- Night Stalker

The 5 games included with the system are in the top 20, and 2 are on the top 3 !
That's really cool to know that some of the great games will be included !

I love the atmosphere and the music of Night Stalker. It will be exciting, stressful and fun !

I hope the Soundtrack will come with the physical game ! :)

Skiing, that should be really fun with the disc pad ! I like the animations and all the surprises that they put in the game !

(Who knows if the skier when he fall in a certain mountain could roll and become a giant snow ball ! lol)

Everything is possible with IE. Did you hear there is a Yeti !?  :)

Astrosmash ...  I played and played ...  Now with beautiful scenery instead of a simple change of color, multiplayer, with Bosses ! ( AND MUSIC !!!)
How can you not make the top 3 !

When I was young, I wrote every minutes I played for everygame. And at the end of the month there was a ranking.

You can bet I will do that with Amico and a ranking for each week ! 😀

Today we are at exactly 6 months away from April 15 ! 👍

I have a feeling that once you play it, Blank Slate might move up your list quite a bit. It's a really fun game and the version on Amico looks fantastic.

But I have to agree... Night Stalker is my #1 so far. I can't wait.
