Intellivision Amico - Tommy Tallarico introduction + Q&A

Damn! I missed those deleted messages by a matter of minutes.

P. S.: The PS5 includes a family friendly game... Where have I seen this approach in other consoles released in the same year? 🤔

I don't think so.

That would also be a little tough for me considering I'm a big supporter of animal rights.

I understand that games like Duck Hunt are all in good fun.  So there may be something out there that could fit.  Just nothing on the plate right now.

Shooting extremely huge spiders in Night Stalker or rats/snakes in Cloudy Mountain is one thing... it's "fantasy".

Hunting for ducks or deer is something different (for me anyway).  I understand my views on this subject are not the norm.  It's just a personal thing for me.  A "hunting" game would be tough for me.

That makes sense - but maybe do something like can shooter in WarioWare Smooth Moves, that was quite fun.

In the trailer, the cheetah is hunting a gazelle.

Yes, but what I meant was this wasn’t a hunting game where you are the hunter and are doing the killing (like the Cabelas series of games).  I don’t think Tommy is against the natural circle of life as a Vegan.

I'm in the middle road here: I'm against hunting for fun, but I think science shows meat was basic for the development of human brain, so I eat tons of (organic) meat.

The problem with hunting games is that they promote killing animals for fun. That's the way I see it and that's why I also prefer a safari game.

I thought you might play the role of one of the animals.  Photojournalism didn't come to mind.

I know the focus has been on 2d/2.5d type gaming. Can the Amico do a 3D driving type game?  No I'm not talking Gran Turismo.  But a Mario Kart type game.  Or any one of a number of arcade type racers. San Francisco Rush. Sega Rally. I could see STUN RUNNER as well. Would it be possible down the road?

PS-I would love to see an Amico-fied version of LTWOM.

Yeah.  For sure.  Things like Skiing & Nitro Derby are already somewhat built like that.

That was super fun to watch!  I told him he needs to put Skiing on a higher level than 1 so the game plays a lot faster!

I think we have another 5 or 6 open positions that we are currently looking to fill.  And another 5 - 7 by the end of the year.

Mostly in California & Utah... but a few in Germany.

Yo Tommy, any possiblity a 8 player brawler like this will be coming to the Amico?  Maybe have a allstars group of characters.  Frogger, running man, qbert, dig dug, EWJ, global gladiators, joust, and whatever else that could be added.

Nothing planned yet, but something like that would make a lot of sense!

This game looks interesting.  What is the premise of it?  Since you love it I know it can’t involve hunting, so is it a photo safari of some sort?

Yep.  Photo safari.

Tommy,

When the original Intellivision games come to Amico.  Maybe for a physical media option they can be on a mini Intellivision controller that resembles the original controller.  It would plug into the Amico.  And, there would be a list of games that appears on the TV screen.  Wouldn't that be something?
