No, if any PC Engine game should come to Amico, it has to be Geisha Boy.

I was going to suggest this on OEB's channel, but I don't think he watches bithead.

I remember this game.  I looked it up, it's called Gekisha Boy.  It might come to Amico.  Wouldn't that be something?

Lots of cool old board games being mentioned, so I thought I'd tease the game I have been working on this year which just so happens to be... a brand new retro style family board game. Its coming along incredibly well and as promised I will be sending Tommy an exclusive sneak peek,  likely some time next month, and who knows, if he likes it then we can discuss possibly keeping it exclusive to the amico.

LOVE the graphic!   Can't wait to check it out!

Would be SO COOL if we could get this on Amico and that we met through AtariAge!

Apparently Tommy has never taken a sip of alcohol or smoked a cigarette, which I find quite admirable.

While some of us are spending 12 hours in bed recovering from hangovers Tommy is up at the crack of dawn accomplishing things, receiving Guinness Book of World Records and getting shit done (he's a super sleeper).

Congratulations on your amicable Roblox settlement. ;-)

True!  Never had a drop.  Or smoked.  Or ever taken drugs.  Something I was never interested in even trying.  Maybe seeing cousin Steven a bit zonked out on stage growing up in the 70's & 80's turned me off and scared me a bit.

😱

Thanks for the Roblox shout out.  Good times.

Everything good now.

It would probably need to be toned down, though.

Especially that barrel butt...

Hans is slumming it at the Monaco Yacht Club for his Pocket Gamer Connect Digital presentation. Not a bad place to get a temporary office!

Actually, the reason he was there is we had a HUGE Monaco investors day!  (I was on video).  That is the Monaco Yacht Club.

We did 3 presentations over 5 hours.  25 successful and smart multi-millionaires... and all 25 people wanting to invest!

I'd say it was a pretty successful day.

A request for the video editing Amico fans reading this: Pat & Ian just made a 15 minute video where, basically, both defend buying the PS5 if that's your hobby and you like it, providing DOZENS of arguments against people who just "rain on someone's parade" and attack other people's favorite consoles because "people can be happy in these difficult times".

So my request would be, can someone paste an Amico over the PS5 image and insert Pat and Ian saying "Amico" when they actually say "PS5"?

Asking for a friend.

I can't bear to watch those two at this point so I'll take your word for it.  Hearing their voices instantly annoys me... so I try avoid at all cost.

Hans Ippisch (President of European Operations, Intellivision) via Instagram:

November 13th. A very special day for me. On November 13, 2018, I was on the night train from Berlin to Nuremberg and suddenly had the feeling that I should break new ground. So I spontaneously wrote an email to an old friend from California, who introduced me to his new project in May 2018 and wanted to know my opinion on it. This email and his reply changed my life.

On November 13th, 2019 I was in Rome (together with my wife Anna) to present this project to developers from all over Europe.

And on November 13th, 2020 I woke up in Monaco to answer the numerous inquiries from yesterday's visitors after a highly successful day in the "Yacht Club Office".

Well, you probably already know, my friend for more than 27 years is of course Tommy Tallarico. And the project is Intellivision Amico. I am curious where I will be on November 13th, 2021 ....

That was a super cool post!

Hans is the greatest!!!

Here we are about 27 years ago when we first met.  He featured me in Sega Magazine in Germany (which he started!)

I've been a bad shill.. I let life get in the way and had to catch up again on postings..   Maybe this was covered before, but just in case. With whatever the physical media takes shape in. (Hot Wheels, Tron Disc, Recognizer, X-wing, Funco Pop of Tommy, Opus from Bloom County). Will we have to keep re-authenticating the game by having to tap tie RFID to your console/controller every so often? OR once installed, we won't have to OEBTM - Pete each time we play.

Once installed... you don't need to worry about it again.

Since we are talking about games, I had the first video game idea in my life last week.  I build engines and tend to think in nuts, bolts, and mechanical motion, but standing in my kitchen watching all the birds at my feeders one morning gave me an idea.

I have a couple poles with flat and hanging feeders in a small yard with a line of trees at the back, and the birds like flitting back and forth between the feeders and the trees.  All different size birds show up, and there is a certain order to their behavior-generally the bigger birds get the seeds they want and the little ones wait until there is an opportunity.  It's all fun and games until a hawk comes flying through the yard like a missile and steals off with one of the feeding birds...the cycle of life, if you will.

Then it clicked:  What about a Shark, Shark! style game, but with birds, trees, birdfeeders, and hawks?  You start as a tiny bird.  You get points for eating food out of feeders, but if you bump a bigger bird, you get pushed out and lose points.  Get enough food, you become a bigger bird with more access to the feeders.   All of this happens under the constant and random threat of the hawk flying in, snatching you up, and taking you away.  Variables could include trees/landforms, feeder types and styles, food types and styles (some worth more 'energy/points' than others), and various birds of 'prey', with size, accuracy, and skill increasing as your bird gets bigger.  Maybe even introduce the need to 'fly' with button presses, like it works in 'Joust'.

The obvious title?  'Hawk, Hawk!'  Which, as I just discovered, is very awkward to say out loud.

Hey, we all gotta start somewhere.

Shill'n ain't easy. No definitive update on physical media but Tommy has said maybe something in December on that. Either way it sounds like it will possibly take several forms (or maybe they are combined so you get a nice case with artwork and maybe something collectable inside too).

On the RFID you won't have to re-validate your games ever so often. You tap, it download and then that game is on the your Amico basically forever unless you loan it or remove the key/game. If you are visiting someone and are loaning the game using your controller, I can see a timeout there, but on your console I think Tommy has been pretty clear it is only once.

Although there will be many different physical media "types"... we plan to show off our main "retro" style in December.

Given the circumstances, think this is about as good a solution as could have been negotiated; especially for Roblox. The ONLY ONES who lost are the Lawyers.

Not mine!  He was working on percentage!

:D

160M current monthly Roblox players.  Wouldn't It Be Something if half of them wanted the Oof! sound back in?

I can tell you one thing... I wouldn't need to do any more investor meetings for awhile!!

🤣

Can I also just say that it makes my blood boil when I'm looking for new info on the Amico and my Google feed is showing me Atari crap?  I know about the stupid hotel and some games, and I don't want to.  I've never searched for Atari, and the only time I even type that word is when I come here.   4th on the link list is the horrible hit piece CNET put out in August.  What gives?  Is this just me?

Since this thread is half Amico and half "here is something super cool to buy until you are bordering on bankruptcy" (HiSSCtBUYaBoB) ;) - here is a Flying Tigers custom PC build being auctioned off for charity:

Yep!  I bought the Marvel one AND the Star Wars pinball!  The coolest part being that they each have 10 different pinball games on each table!

Yep.  Dragon's Lair is so damn cool!!   So amazing!!  I thought my sound/speakers were broken before I realized that you had to go into the menu and turn on the internal speakers (because it was defaulted to the HDMI out).  I thought that was strange.  Was yours like that?

The GREATEST part of it though is that you can set lives to INFINITE!  As you mentioned, the game is still very tough.  But once you memorize everything it becomes easy.  I beat it in about an hour... but was super fun and love displaying it!!

HOLY CRAP!!

Thanks for helping me to find my next PC!

Just reached out to the guy and we're talking on DM now.  I need to have a back-up plan in case I don't win the auction!

Have you played the gamecube remake of dragons lair dragons lair 3d?  Id love to see that on amico in hd with better controls  and more rooms and multiplayer.  The game was great and i felt the 3d cam wast so needed as much even though its"3d"  it was dragons lair in real time. Not video with quick time events.
