They have the license to do it. I'm not sure they have confirmed as it being actively worked on. I never appreciated the game really until I played Beef Drop on the 7800.

Mr. Beefy should add this to OP.  Great to know, thanks!!!

Edit:  Is this going to be a remake, or just the original INTV game?

Don't know if it's being work on, but says it is a sure thing on launch. Although, it sounds like even games in the works could be shelved for recycling if they don't come out a 7/10 or better.

I'm not wanting to list licenses they have the rights to use. The list is huge and could be misleading as to what they are creating. However, if it is confirmed as being worked on you got it. I think the list I have is the most updated/confirmed by Tommy.

wrong phrasing, it was misleading....bacon

Thanks! I added it. Yeah, the shelving part is why I don't want to go hog wild. I'd rather be short games that list too many. It is hard saying how many have already been shelved. :(

As a CEO of a corporation you should just ignore these things.  This is like the most obvious lame attempt at trolling.  I would give it a 0/10 for effort.  When I saw it, the video had like 50 views.  I doubt the CEO of Mcdonalds searches youtube every 10 minutes for videos bashing mickeyd's.   If I posted in my thread about every single little affront to my stuff I'd be posting non stop every day about it.  You just need to let it go and not bring it up in multiple threads every time it happens.   They posted a video in an attempt to get a rise out of you, and judging by the posts they sure as heck got it.

The Amico is pretty small time right now (compared to what you want it to be) and while you can control the narrative right now, once it gets bigger that will become impossible.  So far it seems that when a small youtuber posts something deemed "negative" or wrongthink, the current solution is to post a comment, then send them t-shirts and hats, and then they make a more positive video afterwards.  I have seen this several times now. Whether this is what really happens or not, it sure looks like it.  While this is good viral marketing, it makes me wonder what will happen when larger outlets start reporting on it that can't be so easily swayed with swag.

I have been at ground zero of three console launches of my hardware/software/HDL design so far, and I wouldn't trade it for the world.  There's plenty of "haters" and true haters out there to go around, but the difference is I. Just. Don't. Care.  At the end of the day, my stuff has to stand on its own merits, and no amount of hand wringing or wishful thinking will change that.  Like the Amico, my stuff was a huge gamble too, and the livelihoods of many people hinged on how well it did in the market.  There's no real way to know how well something will do until it's released and for sale.  I can say that the projects I worked on have vastly exceeded my wildest dreams.

Instead of worrying about what some random person thinks about my stuff, I am here every day working on code for 6-8 hours a day (in addition to my day job!) and more like 10-12-14 hours on the weekends.  I haven't even really done a search on youtube for my own stuff!  Maybe 2 or 3 times since it launched.   I certainly don't troll youtube multiple times a day looking for any glitches in the Matrix.   Just relax and let things flow.  If not, you'll end up dying of a heart attack or something when the coverage really gets rolling.

Since this is the bacon thread (right?)  I will provide some!

It's an easy response that makes sense to a lot of folks I'm sure.

But with all due respect, you aren't privy to specifics of this project... so comparing it to others is not the same.

Try putting yourself in the shoes of something with big investors and retailers hanging on everything that is written or said in order to gauge how much more they are considering to put behind the project.  Social media, YouTube, etc. does matter for a project like this at this stage.  This is why it is important to get as much info our there as we can at this stage.  We've shared a thousand things that Sony & Microsoft have not... and they are in the same release time as we are.  This project is much different than anything else because we're not crowd funded and we don't have billions in the bank like the others.  I wish people could understand and respect that a little more when considering what we're trying to build and how we're trying to build it.

Awesome, and seeing how it says "Super Burgertime" seems like an updated version which is great.

Is it going to be an "enhanced for Amico" port of this game?

It isn't an "easy response".  It's just the facts.  If your project hangs on the balance of having absolutely no negative press anywhere on the internet, maybe it isn't as solid as you think it is.  A truly great product doesn't need to have everything slightly to the right of 100% blowout fawning praise scrubbed from the internet.   There will be many more "Pats" to deal with that won't play ball when it comes to correcting the record.

I understand fully what goes into making a modern videogame product, and how much money it costs.  I am on the fourth one in 5 years.   It is very expensive, and it takes a long time.  I estimate you're going to need to go into production by mid-July at the latest if you want to get it in stores by 10/10.  It is gonna be a tough row to hoe.   Fortunately the games don't need to be done in a few months, but the hardware will need to be finalized by then for sure if there's a hope of getting is done in time.

Sony/MS probably get some consideration for their logistics and manufacturing that you won't get, allowing them more time for production and less time wending its way through the system to final retail endpoints.  I totally understand what you are trying to build and all the hassles that go with it- I have been there multiple times!   You just need to concentrate on building stuff and writing games, and less time spent constantly looking for the glitches in the youtube Matrix. IMO.

Feel free to disagree, but I am probably the other most qualified person here that knows all the trials and tribble-ations that go into it.

I think they can do both of them if I remember right. They have a ton of games they can make. I'm hoping Activision gets their head out of their butt and lets them make their games. I know Pitfall will be priority #1, but I think HERO and River Raid are in more need of a new update.

I liked the SNES Pitfall so I've had my 'modern' fix. (damn I'm getting older).

A reimagining of "Burger Time" will be the one on launch. Basically, they first got rights to SBT, then later got BT, so what the interviewers were rolling was a teaser made before they got BT, but it is BT on launch. It will be enhanced, but don't know the specifics.

As an owner of two of those products I can say without a doubt Kevtris knows a thing or two about releasing a high quality modern video game product.  Looking forward to my third purchase this year, thanks Kev.

The emulated intellivision games won't be on Amico until at least 2021.  I'm not sure they're interested in paying for the licenses for the ones that need them.

Intellivision Burgertime had a couple of puzzle like stages that were really annoying.  It kind of ruined the cartridge for me.

I don't think they are interested in Super Burgertime, thankfully.  That title was listed because of a licensing issue that was later resolved.

Cool, thanks for the update.  Any Burgertime is better than no Burgertime.  Looking forward too seeing the gameplay reveal this year.

Despite a lot of talk about how the biggest hurdle will be the perception of old Atari and NES players from the 80s having an unforvorable association with the original consoles' controllers, he said he had great fun playing the games and the controllers worked well, so, it sounds like a win for his actual experience.

I thought they had said they were using cel phones as controllers for these demos? @Tommy Tallarico can you confirm?

It's my understanding that the Amico controller wasn't ready for last E3.  Others, like SmashJT, may have played using the Amico controller after that.

Probably cell phones as controllers. I would think if the cells phone App works well, the pack-in controllers would be even better. MJR said controllers so I just repeated him.

Their were two controller without the enhancements and two cell phones there, from Tony:

"We had a lot of different set-ups back there and the idea was showing that games could be played with our controllers or mobile devices.  We had 2 Amico controllers and 2 mobile devices for each machine.  They [Game Informer Show] played with the 2 mobile devices.  :)"

"The Amico controllers were working at E3... just not the entire thing (i.e. force feedback, lighting, speaker/microphone, wireless charging). Also... the phone app versions were working 100%"

I think at E3 it was gameplay only using the phones.

May being the key word. I don't think we have had any confirmation from a 3rd partying using the actual controllers.

I could be wrong but I thought it was Riggs or MJR that said they were using the phone app during E3. Like it was played on the actual console, but the phone and not controller was used.

Yeah I think I heard that on the Riggs review.

To be fair, I don't think MJR said anything unreasonable in that video.  He gave out any criticisms or concerns in a respectful fashion.

I agree.  One of the things I appreciate about MJR is that he's level-head and fair in his reviews.

If your investors are the type to have their confidence swayed by a random troll potshot on YouTube, you have my sympathies. :)

This being the Internet, the abusive juvenile potshots come with the territory. In my 27 years in the business I can only think of one project that was completely devoid of troll commentary (so far).

Pouring energy into combatting the unreasonable is exhausting and not good for your morale. (Plus there's the Streisand Effect.) The most constructive thing to do is just to forge ahead, and refute them by focusing on your "show don't tell" campaign. Discussion about the actual content will render this sort of nonsense a blip hardly worth a passing thought by your investors.

(No guarantee all discussion will be positive. There may be legitimate gripes. But I've found in our projects that pouring time into addressing the reasoned criticisms to be way more productive. It's a win-win: it pushes one to make a better product and, if the reasonable critics feel heard, they can become some of your best advocates.)
