Independent Amico Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

I didn't make the AA forum rules so it's not about what I want.

Rules were set long before I showed up.  Rules were broken.  Nothing to do with me or what I wanted or didn't want.

Interesting that I'm never the one who gets "banned" in any of these threads.  I've been warned by mods and posts deleted as well.  The difference is... I understand and respect the warnings and can control myself when warned (unlike others who seem to insist on making the same mistakes over and over and over again... and then complain when they eventually get the boot again).

I'd prefer to keep all the questions over at the Q&A thread so it can all stay in the same place and a lot more people will see the answer.  Please ask over there and I will answer ASAP.

Thanks!

I never said you made the rules, nor did I say you requested for them to be removed/had them removed. You are being defensive on me saying that you don't want the negativity in the Q&A. That is me saying you don't want it there nothing more. Let me show you were you said you want negativity out of the Q&A...

And this one...

In both posts you mention it wanting to be positive or with like minded people meaning INTV Superfans! That is what I mean about not wanting the negativity in there and that is fine not wanting it there!  And if they post here you don't need to worry about debating and whatnot.

You also said make another thread to post whatever and this thread is that. Hopefully, this thread will help keep the negativity out of the Q&A and let it be the positive interaction you want and I think there is nothing wrong with that. The mods are perfectly capable in modding be it that thread or this one.

For sure, they would need to redo the environment but from the view point it is ripe for a Micro Machines tie-in

I think a MM game would be great.

What does everyone think the best use of a touchscreen on a racing game would be? Showing the overall map? Like 'clicking' on a boost or weapon or something?

Man, Micromachines on the NES and Genesis were fun as hell.  Count me in as well.

....guy so belligerent.... but he did call the scale-with-iPods Amico.

I'm working on my own game system. It will be called Passivo-Aggressivo. ;)

PS: it's a joke, I'm not implying anything. Thanks.

I'm not sure one could have the time to watch the controller screen while racing in this kind of game. But it could be used between races to buy items you don't want other players to know you got!

It is relatively easy to get 90% of the way done, that last 10% is the killer.

This usually happens to me with me when I do Colecovision/Intellivision homebrew games

Sorry for asking here and maybe you can't confirm yet, but will the Chicago area be one of the planned cities for the Amico tour?  I'd really like to get a chance to play the Amico this Summer.

I know, it's so annoying and then they have the nerve to ask you to leave the money on the dresser on the way out...

Swiping to gear up/down.

Saying I'm being defensive is in itself a defensive mechanism.  So best not to assume what my reasoning and feelings are for responding for certain things.  Offering a simple counter-point or additional information should not be labeled as "being defensive"... the weakest argument that someone can make when they have run out of things to counter with.  You're better than that.

We have specifically been discussing the REMOVABLE and BANNING of people from certain threads.  You implied (either on purpose or not) that folks were banned because I didn't want them there or they somehow broke "my" rules.   I've said repeatedly that it was never the case.

The quotes you pulled above were my responses to people continuing to be negative and turning off (and pissing off) other people from engaging in the thread anymore.  I was merely trying to give the negative posters a wake up call and reminder that I was tired of the negativity and suggesting that they go somewhere else if they want to be negative and get off topic with the same nonsense over and over and over again... y'know... kinda like this thread now.   :)

Declaring that I created that thread was specifically pointing out what the TOPIC of the thread was so it wouldn't continue to get derailed over and over and over again... y'know... kinda like this thread now.   :)

I was referring more to reasonable and respectful people.

So again folks want to somehow impose a different set of rules on me?  If I was an anonymous poster would you have said that same thing to me?  Are you somehow trying to CONTROL what is being said or not said or discussed or debated in YOUR thread?  Are you not accusing me of something you are implying yourself?  Not that I care or it matters... but just wanted to make the observation.

In hindsight, I shouldn't have come here at all as it's become crystal clear to many that this is a place where the banned bashers can come to get their 2nd shots at trying to tear me and the system down.  Or, for some folks to have some silly fun at our expense.

I get it now.  That's cool.

Enjoy!

Yes... exactly.  It's the thing that attracted me to this place initially and what makes it different from the other cesspools around the internet.  This is the main reason I stay at AA.  This was part of the point I was trying to make in my responses to folks who continually felt the need to push everyone's buttons to the point of being banned themselves.

I was simply clarifying that the initial mention of what I said was not about the removal etc. It was about wanting a positive environment. If you don't want that in there like you said fine and I am perfectly aware of what those posts I pulled were about as I was the one grabbed them. You still said you want it to be positive and I like that thread better when it is that way too.

Honestly, I don't care what you think this thread is about. I love the idea of this thing and if you don't want to believe that once again I don't really care. I have more important things to worry about than what you think one stupid thread is about.

Now I'm going to try and take care of my little guy who spent a good deal of time in the hospital last night. But while I was in the hospital I was thinking about this....

While waiting for awhile I was thinking about gaming and I realized probably another reason I found Amico interesting. I was a huge NDS fan and in some ways with the controllers the Amico could basically make it a TV NDS. The NDS seemed IMO to revive the point and click type games. Like Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney and Hotel Dusk. The DS was great at having a wide range of different types of games from simple to complex. I think I would love to see some games like Ace Attorney or Trauma Center on Amico. Anyone else think the two systems could pump out similar games and if so what would you like to see? Or am I off my rocker?

Play nice today everyone, eat plenty of bacon, tacos, or whatever the vegan equivalent of bacon would be.

Honestly I think they could.   A few use-cases I could see:

'You Don't Know Jack'-type quiz games

RPGs where the controller is used as inventory management

'Warioware' style games

I feel that Doom and the F4 would put aside their differences over a good old evening of couch co-op, family friendly gaming.

Aren't you trying to control the narrative by telling me not to control the narrative?

:D

Oh... and I've lost patience with folks like you as well.

See that?  Everyone equal.  YAY!

For a bacon thread... everyone seems to have lost their sense of humor.

Everyone can be a snarky smart ass... except me.

Got it!
