Good interview Tommy.  Short but sweet.  I can't recall when your last interview was but I'm glad you're still doing them.  By the way, I like how he spelled your last name.  It says Tellarco, lol.

Holy crap!!! Did Tommy just say Tempest is coming to Amico!!! Wonder if he’s getting Jeff Minter to do it?

Hiya Tommy, I hope all is well in Amico land.

Only 146 more days until tax day 2021 (err, I mean the re-scheduled launch date for Amico).

https://www.livecountdown.com/intellivision-amico-countdown/

Until then, I have a few questions for you which I hope have not been asked until now...

(1) Will there be add-on modules?

(2) What are the odds that Corona will cause yet another delay?

(3) When can we expect the next big Amico video?

(4) Will Night Stalker be available on April 3rd? If so then NS will be the first game I'll download into my Founder's Edition.

Thanks in advance,
S&S

League of Light was released on the Commodore 64 as Master of Lamps.  The same guy did the music for Intellivision Snafu.

Interesting Amico news today that they have joined FIG, which is a Kickstarter-style alternative that began some years ago, to raise money for the company. FIG was started with the idea that a donation to Kickstarter should be more like an investment in a future product, so it has (small) returns on your investment if successful, with the associated risk of any other investment, and a formal securities and exchange commission license. So far FIG fundraisers have been hit and miss, but it has had some success. They were recently acquired by Republic, which I have to admit I don't really know anything about. I know FIG mostly because of early involvement from Tim Shafer of Grim Fandango/etc fame.

To me, it is a bit alarming, in that it leads me to wonder if they need income to get the Amico out next year following delays, COVID, and whatever costs they have, but maybe it is just them doing a combo preorder/support us thing with a more formal relationship to the money than your average Kickstarter/IndieGoGo.

I thought they were set up on fig back in April.  You can never have enough marketing dollars.  The pre-order deposit money is refundable so they can't really use that until the product ships.

Very good point re: deposit money.

I know Tommy said he's bringing homebrew games to Amico.  Some might get released individually.  But what if there were collections?  Like a volume 1, 2, etc.  That would be awesome.

I second this.  Definitely having a way to connect to the OG Intellivision's original titles and games released by homebrewers on the new platform would be a good coup imo.

Intellivision has been on Fig.co (and now Republic) since the Spring, in fact I have done two updates about 3 months apart here explaining the growth of the investment dollars on that site. In addition, Intellivision has been fund raising on a regular basis with larger investors, most recently meeting with some in Monaco. I look at money being raised in just the opposite way. Every dollar raised is a new staff person to do QA or a new license property for a game or a new developer hired to help fill the game pipeline for 2022. Remember IE is just about to move into their new 15,000 square foot headquarters and just opened an office in Reno. They wouldn't be doing that if they didn't have production money allocated. IE isn't just Tommy, people like Phil Adam, Jason Enos & David Perry are there to make sure the money & production are lined up.

I fully expect to see Intellivision continue to raise money after the Amico launches in order to expand sales regions, distribution channels and ramp production. For me this is standard startup procedure from seed funding to Round A, B and so forth.

I think you are way off here..I think the primary reason is to keep up with the “Intellivision master” wishlist 😉
