I think he was saying that Sony is 10 to 1 on Microsoft.

Yes somehow I managed to completely misinterpreted his post - what I get for skimming instead of reading

I didn't realize until I read Tommy's reply today, but yes: you understood "Sony won Microsoft 10 to 1" as "Microsoft won Sony 10 to 1", even after my initial phrase was "the PS5 is absolutely destroying the competition".

When I finally understood what you meant, it kind of reminded me of Bizarro, the Superman villain who lives in a planet where everything is inverted and good is evil, and so forth.

When he died in a non-canon Alan Moore story just before the DC reboot in the 80s, he said "Hello, Superman... Hello".

After we get Sea Battle & Sub Hunt, perhaps a game like this can be on Amico.  This is two games in one.  Go Sub & Super Pro Go Sub.

Eventually.  It's on our "to do" list.  Loved that game.  Super hard though!  Need to make it easier.  :)

Glad you have joined the Confusion Club with me - I think being at over 1000 pages the altitude is getting to us 🙃

Have been scrounging looking for a suitable social deception game on Steam for the Amico. Anyone found anything or perhaps a more family friendly board game version? Among Us has a great cartoon feel but I don't think the game could be adapted because of the relatively small controller screens wouldn't let you control your player properly without others seeing each player's activity on on the TV. Probably one of the board/card based games would be the best to adapt.

It would actually be very helpful if people, especially Tommy, would include the titles in their responses.  The search system here only searches the content of the post and not the quote.

This would be a neat game for Amico.  Looks similar to Combat.  Perhaps we can get a toy army men game.  I recall someone mentioning a game with army men toys.  It could be really cool.

Land Battle was one of the most complex games created for the Intellivision (tanks, apc, infantry, artillery, bazookas, mortars).  That's one of the reasons Mattel didn't release it, that and the fact it required more ram added to the cartridge and was for two players only.

What they are looking for Amico is not just good games but previously successful titles whose name still carries some weight.

That reminds me of Military Madness. Sort of an RTS game but simpler and faster play7 from the late 80s.

I didn't know Land Battle was difficult.  Never played it.  But if some kind of toy army men game was to release on Amico, it would be a easy strategy game without complex controls.  Like a top down style view and it could be about capturing command posts or something.

I couldn't get into Military Madness.  But I did try it out at least.  As for well known games that IE wants on Amico, I know they want titles that were successful & still hold weight.  All I'm saying is, that other games can release on Amico down the road.  Of course it all depends on what Tommy & the team feels should be on the console.  I'm just throwing out ideas/suggestions.  It'll be interesting to see what the future holds for all the different games that eventually end up on Amico.  So far, I like what I see.  I know it'll only get better as time goes on.

Hey all,

Just wanted to throw out a "tip of the hat" to both @Kamikazi26 and @Humblejack for their excellent help in reuniting me with some classic NIB Intellivision games. Longer explanation in the "deals" or "ebay" Intellivision threads.

You guys rock...TYVM :)

Im seriously thinking about investing through fig/republic. Ive never invested before and have relatively minimal knowledge on the subject.

Ive read the investment page on the IE website, and need some dumb questions answered.

Thanks for the interest.  No question is ever dumb.  These things may seem complicated if you're not following this kind of stuff.

Here are the official answers from the FAQ:

1. Will i be buying shares in IE? From what i understand, ill be investing in the console, and not the company

No.  Not shares in IE.  Here is the definition from the FAQ:

  • What is FGS-Amico?
Is the name of the revenue share security, specifically a class of Preferred Stock issued by Fig Publishing, Inc., tied to a license agreement between Fig Publishing, Inc. and Intellivision Holdings, LLC. Fig Publishing, Inc. is a community publisher that allows individuals the opportunity to invest in the financial returns of games and game hardware.

2. looks like dividends are paid. So if i hold onto the shares ($1000 a share, ill buy a few) will it become residual income?

From the FAQ:

  • When do I start receiving revenue share?
The company will be responsible to communicate updates on revenue share timing but after the offering closes we anticipate dividends will be declared every six months, as of every May 15 and November 15, and paid thereafter, in all events after such time (if ever) as Amico is successfully developed and published and Amico sales receipts begin to be received.
  • How can I earn a return on my investment?
Each FGS-Amico share pays dividends based on the sales receipts from Intellivision Holdings, LLC, when the Amico and its related games are developed and released. Each holder of FGS-Amico shares receives a revenue share of sales receipts through a license agreement with Intellivision Holdings, LLC. Those receipts are then apportioned between Fig Publishing, Inc. and the investors in the associated shares, based on the proportion that the investment proceeds represents to the development amount paid to the developer. Dividends will begin to be paid after development and revenues are shared from the Amico and its software sales.

3. Can i buy more than once, maybe a second purchase just before the 98 day deadline?

Yes.  You can buy multiple times during the Regulation A+ investment period.

Military Madness aka Nectaris is the godfather of turn based combat games.

I remember back in the PS3 / XBOX 360 / Wii days, there was a website that tracked the console wars. I'm hoping for something similar this time around. 🙂  (Not that we're competing against those consoles, but just as interesting information.)

Something else to remember... People today keep complaining about how Sony and Microsoft are screwing up their launch of the new consoles. Nobody can find them for sale anywhere. Oh the humanity! They can't make enough for people to buy, and those people are complaining that they have to hit refresh on their browser before eventually buying one over the internet and having someone deliver it to their door. Those poor souls.

Back in the PS3/Wii launch days, you had to REALLY want it. You had to wait in lines for hours. People were getting stabbed or shot. Literally shot. It was a real console war. It was madness. You'd have to drive all around town for weeks or months trying to find a Wii. It took effort to get a console back in those days. Gamers had to fight for it!

But yeah, I guess having to go between the Best Buy site and Amazon, while constantly checking Twitter to see if stock is available is pretty comparable. People don't know how well they have it.

Rant over.

I saw a trailer for a live action Tom & Jerry movie coming next March.  Now all we need is a Tom & Jerry game on Amico.

I saw that too...

Yet another attempt to revive them... But it will never be the same without all the "violence" and of course Tom's timeless classic...the glass-shattering, full-lung, all-out "Death-Scream of Immence Pain"!!

I would have loved to have been in the recording room when the got this yell on tape...
